I type exactly like I talk. Utterly deadpan in my humor. I don't even know when I am being serious anymore.

@Ganymede And the same reason I don't enjoy anything by Wes Anderson.

I didn't like Sense8. It felt too 'progressive' for me. Like it was trying too hard to be what it was.

I don't want to date Thenomain. I just want to bang out a quickie and never call him again.

The last thing I saw in 3D was the Thriller experience at some theme park, I think. As a kid. Michael Jackson was coming -right at us-.

Before I started work at this location, the following incident happened. I read about it in incident reports/logs of the incident:
A security guard noticed a woman who had a small dog on a leash. He asked her if it was a service dog. She said 'You can't ask me that it's against the law!"
He politely informed her that the building has a policy stating only licensed service dogs are allowed. She called him a fascist and had a flip out.
She subsequently missed two days of work, claiming the whole thing triggered her so hard that she just couldn't go out in public.
The guard was punished for 'confronting' her. Damn millenials.

Asians are Asians. Americans are Americans. I mean, people from Mexico or Bolivia or Chile don't mind being called Americans, right?
Jokes aside, I refer to myself as a Texan rather than 'American'. So I understand sensitivities to regional descriptors. To me, an Asian is someone who lives in or is from the region. It has nothing to do with your ethnicity.
If I was going to talk about ethnicities, I'd be like... Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Filthy Fucking Filipino, etcetera.

RE: Chronicles of Darkness Game: Seeking helpposted in A Shout in the Dark
Good luck with your game, but every single game I've been on with a metaplot that involved every sphere was basically 'Mages do the heavy lifting, everyone else is support'. And it's just my experience, but it's almost 20 years of games. So take it how you will.

RE: CyberSphere Recruitment Driveposted in Adver-tis-ments
Cybersphere is very interesting from a code standpoint. Even excluding the game itself.
Also fun fact: Cybersphere was one of the first online whatsits, existing back in 1992. Before the commercialization of the interwebs.

I'm sorry for contributing to the derailing of the apology thread.

I'm sorry that people don't like me.
Not for my sake. I'm sorry for their sake. Because I'm awesome.

I've played Battle Brothers since it hit Early Access. Great devs. Definitely support them. They are an example of Early Access done right. I highly encourage anyone who likes those kind of games to give them a go.

I got accused of a microaggression for using the word 'rape' inappropriately with someone. I said 'To me, being strip-searched feels a bit like rape.'.
Someone walking by had the nerve to stop, act indignant, and say 'Don't you know women are raped every day? Shame on you.'
So I kindly retorted: "Men are raped too. Quit being a sexist."
The best way to stop an accusation of a microaggression is to accuse the accuser of one as well.

RE: Difficulty of single-player computer gamesposted in Mildly Constructive
I always go with hard, and if I hit an impossible impasse I drop it down a notch. I play for the challenge and the mechanics more than the story, usually. Story-players likely stick with difficulty settings that let them immerse themselves better.
There's nothing like beating a tough game on a hard setting without killing anyone though, like on Dishonored or Deus Ex. Super satisfying.

I match my partner's pose length almost exactly, because it's fun for me to play that sort of limiter game with my word usage.
I also match their tense and tone if at all possible. Because.

RE: Sin City Chroniclesposted in Adver-tis-ments
No offense to the game makers but I don't see a game set in Las Vegas taking off. I think as a community we're probably as tired of Nevada as we are of Maine.
Hopefully I'm wrong. I like being wrong about such things.

I'd consider it, but my free time isn't as copious as I'd like it to be.
Plus I'm an asshole.

I got my hopes up for a game set in the world of Sin City: the comic.

RE: Strange Game Dev Inquiries from surreality (condensed)posted in Mildly Constructive
There was a book series about creatures evolved from insects instead of humans or something. With magic.
But there were also undersea dudes, and that would be a cool basis for the undersea culture as presented in your ideas.
There were multiple undersea cultures, some militant, some lawless. I'd call just call the entire undersea universe 'The Deep' and go from there. Deep Kingdoms, Deep Republics, etcetera. I dunno.
