RE: Considering Arx? Consider Deepwood!
I play Rymarr, the husband of Samantha who is the ruler of Deepwood. My character is in command of the more martial aspects of the household. My hope is for the household to gain more retainers(knights, scholars, etc) so that I can begin hosting what I've decided to call The Deepwood Adventures. Many years ago the noble family of House Deepwood was virtually wiped out and would have all but disappeared if not for the survival of Samantha. Deepwood is very much a phoenix, rising from the ashes sort of story and I'd love to be able to begin hosting adventures surrounding Deepwood and rediscovering the displaced history of the family - a project that requires bodies!
If you aren't certain of how to CGen or don't even want to bother creating an Original Character but would like help making a roster character? Give me a shout on Rymarr via page or @mail. I tend to enjoy tinkering with building new characters both from the viewpoint of their story and mechanics. If you have questions? I'll try my best to answer them. If I don't know the answer? I'm going to try to find it out because I need to learn too. Basically I'll just ask @Roz since they always seem to know All The Things.
From the standpoint of Deepwood itself and the players in it, I adore them. OOC drama is minimal(in actuality I'd say non-existent, but only Sith deal in absolutes) and more often than not when drama does occur it's kept IC and handled IC. Just the way the average sane person likes it. So let's keep it that way!
The wood is deep, thus it is good.

I should be back to it in a few weeks, if you want to go through it together!
I'll be down for that. I'll be starting it once I get it. Which is projected as no later than the 21st, apparently.

@Auspice I'm happy that I made a positive impression. Tolerance for Biology is an often overlooked and neglected Merit, so I like to make sure that I acknowledge when I don't have it. Let chance decide thine fate!

or it can lead to the (just barely) Force Sensitive Zeltron Death Watch Mandalorian Empress of the jungle planet (yes, really) Tattooine using Move Light Object to lift a creature larger than a speeder, because obviously she is Force Sensitive, so she can lift big things, even if she doesn't have the Move Object Force Power.
@Ganymede said in Searching for Star Wars RPI:
This may be the case, and these players may still be about. I don't know.
The beauty of it is that it was a staff member's character, not just a random player. Didn't she also marry Jabba the Hutt?

RE: RL things I love
Every morning my youngest has an Eggo blueberry waffle. He has for months. He doesn't want deviation from that. Try to give him eggs, sausage, and toast? Tantrum until he gets a blueberry waffle. Cereal? Nope. Blueberry waffle or death.
We had dinner at about 1800.
He just threw a tantrum in the kitchen, we couldn't figure out why. Thirsty? Nope. Want some Goldfish crackers? Nope. Have some broccoli, champ? Nope. He kept pointing at the toaster. Mrs. Faceless gave him a blueberry waffle to see if that's what he wanted. It's nearly 2000. I'm about to slap a dress on this dude and call him Eleven. I catch him with a nose bleed and I'm taking him out before it's too late.
ETA: First time he's wanted a waffle in the evening. Hence the general surprise on our end. I know it won't be continuing, because that's for breakfast and I'm not about to help him form a bad habit.

@Goldfish been there, done that. On a semi-regular basis. More often than not it's the birds tweeting and whistling that alerts me to the fact that it's 6:15am and false dawn's on the horizon. Then I realize I haven't had anything to drink in hours, because I was too distracted by the scene(s).

Oh, hi there. I know you. From every single game you've listed.

@faceless I know you weren't asking for advice at all but...if the lower paying job with the award winning employer culture won't put you in dire straits? That one, all the way. A company that respects work/life balance and takes care of employees is so, so nice to have.
I do appreciate the advice, regardless. There's where I've personally leaned myself in terms of suggestions. Her previous employer was ranked third or fourth; there was a reason that she loved it. I want her to love what she does. So going from 3rd or 4th place to 1st? That seems like a great thing to me.
That pay increase from the other place though... it's just so tempting. More toys!

I'm very sorry to hear this. I spent a good few weeks playing Minecraft with him. Great personality, wonderful sense of humor. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

RE: Darinelle's Playlist
@Darinelle there is no doubt in my mind that since day one I've very likely mentioned having a terrible memory anymore. Someday we will probably talk to one another and I'm going to call you by my wife's name and talk about the first day we met in that park.
That aside, I adored the many opportunities I had to play with Alice. Our characters were opposites that worked well together in sensible chuckle-worthy ways.
You're rocking out with Leona, which I am so very happy about. She's an awesome character and needs an awesome player to take the reins. Keep up the excellent work on that end.
Also, stop stalking me across games. k?

RE: RL Anger
Update: she didn't even bother to ask my advice. She's already decided on the pay cut, #1 ranked place.
So much for daddy getting some new guns.
Thanks, Obama.

@Coin you know, that place I tried to get you to come play on this past Sunday and you gave me a very evasive "I'm totes done with MUing" answer?
Edit: And @Royal too.
Yeah well.
In both their defense it wasn't phrased precisely like that, naturally. I'm sure they'll come around eventually, when the real world permits it. We still heart you both.

RE: Your Opinions of These Games
I think Eldritch has been defunct for about a year and a half now? Again, I think. Pretty sure that's where I was when my last kid was born, which was two years ago.
Great, fun game overall. Played a Demon, Mr. Bowman. Eldritch really helped me appreciate that 2E splat. I still don't trust Ms. Oven's ass.

@faceless I'm never trying to get a last punch in on the bannings board, I don't think. Now i have to go re-read them.
No, no. That's not a statement directed at you specifically. It's a generalized cautionary mention. Because I've seen it happen in past games. Sorry for the confusion. Looking back I can see how you'd link one statement to another, with the mention of you scrunched in between them.
"Jim was banned because he's a creepy shit and was harassing another player."
It just comes off as excessive and as if staff has some sort of personal investment or even making the banning seem personal. When they could just state the facts, without the need to make it seem personal.
"Jim was banned because he was harassing another player, repeatedly, in pages. This is a warning to anyone else that wants to send multiple pictures of Dick Van Dyke and does not stop when asked."

My character still has that framed, autographed print of Dayne. So muscular!
Dayne was an amazingly fun character to play. He was a step away from my usual comfort zone and it was marvelous. I'm glad to know that he, his rose, and his Speedo are still making their presence known!
And as an aside, anyone who ever says that the Sacred Band of the Golden Standard isn't fun, needs to just be better.
