RE: Pro Wrasslin'
I'm not going to lie, but I'm in love with the women's division at AEW.
That Nyla Rose v. Riho v. Yuka Sakazaki match was baller.

RE: RL Anger
My friends and family know better than to say these things to me.
My response to their darkness is black-on-black crime.

can offer sex, organizational skills, and cleaning.
These are all very good things to offer, but I get to deal with children and a spouse who simply have no concept of taking care of themselves.
Frankly, I'd probably prefer an annulment followed by finding someone with their own job, care, place of residence, and an occasional penchant for rough sex.

Did you learn nothing from Battlestar Galactica
I clearly learned nothing from Intolerable Cruelty, so I don’t understand your surprise.

RE: Any Fate free WOD games left?
Then maybe I did draft it? I did an awful lot of these back in the day.

RE: Any Fate free WOD games left?
To be fair, I didn't entirely create the Alucinor at Reno. I think that was more skew's doing or Derp's doing.
I did make the bloodline for a different game that, to my knowledge, never opened.
But, yes, try Echoes.

Title says it all, just got done trying and really liked it but things there are a bit strict for me (i like to have a community, something which they actively discourage there from what i could gather, also no ooc chan to let the other person lnow if i'm having trouble with a newbie thing, ect.)
I did like the whole 'pick yourself up by the bootstraps and make something of yourself' aspect though, so if anyone has reccomendations for something like that just with more of an ooc presence, please let me know
Hi, Sarah.
I think we may need more information. What sort of game did you depart from? What are you looking for in a game, besides a sense of progression?
The MU-niverse is diverse.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
So, bougie time.
I'm looking to set up a wireless mesh system in my new house. What's best? I hear that Google Nest Wifi is coming out in the middle of October, but should I wait? Is there a better system out there?
The attraction of Google Nest Wifi is that I have a Nest thermostat. I was looking at the Amazon system, and it looks pretty neat; it just picked up Eero. But the best rated systems are NetZero's and Linksys's systems. That said, there are reportedly issues with Nest working with other mesh systems.
Anyone have any opinions or suggestions?

RE: Good TV
Mindhunter is turning out to be a truly fascinating series.
And not just because Jonathan Groff is in it.

Unpopular opinion: Generic CofD 2e game where the defining feature is that staff just kind of stay out of your way and let you play the game without metaplot or too much staff-lead politics and stuff. >.>
It's a fair opinion to have, but I have not seen this work in practice for longer than a few months.

RE: Spars and fights
I think it takes a lot of time and skill to emote fighting without discussing it beforehand.
I have done it before. I do not know how the other player found it. Part of it is remembering to be responsive. What is the other person writing? What is their aim? Frankly, the better the partner, the better the experience at this level.

Is 'knowing how to fight iRL' - having some kind of background in martial arts, or even just watching MMA stuff on TV - an advantage to roleplaying such scenes?
Honestly, that’s like asking if knowing how to practice law makes roleplaying courtroom scenes easier.
Maybe, but that doesn’t make the subject matter any less boring.
Fuck, I’m also pretty good at going down on a girl, but I’m not sure if I’m any better at hot lesbian action than someone else.
So, maybe? But I really don’t fight and I like my fight scenes.

RE: RL Anger
FWIW a bunch of my clients lost at trial (and face significant challenges in post-conviction) because of the testimony of mandated reporters.
I hate being a mandatory reporter.
Granted, I do have a psychology degree and an education degree, but you really don't want a lawyer evaluating whether someone is doing something bad or nefarious to their children, especially me.
Because I believe in the evil in everyone.

I tried Marsilikos and found it hard to get into, though everyone I met was super nice. I might need to try again with a different character at some point.
Honestly, I think it's a matter of timing. There are a lot of GMT folks, so business hours EST have some activity. Evening EST and later is a little rarer.

Brings up a good point: Maybe in the future games should have zones like an MMO based on how much XP you have so all the dinosaurs are in their own special zoo doing their politics and sending orders to the people in the lower power zones?
It's not a bad idea, but it doesn't really make sense in the setting or practice. In Vampire, for example, elders don't leave neonates alone; they need to be put in their place constantly. But dinosaurs, in my opinion, aren't a problem in the hands of the right players.
You really need the right players. To get them, you have to attract them with something that they want. It's really that simple.

How you handle a fight depends on the audience.
I concur, but write separately to add the following.
How you handle a fight also depends on the purpose. If you are challenging the players as a staffer, using the system is a way for the players to show off or test themselves out; let them do that. If you are telling a story, you may want to just let them narrate their way through the fight, if that works for them.
If you are having a sparring bout as a means to RP together -- I've done this an awful lot with the Shrike and the Murdermau5 -- then the players can decide it among themselves. I prefer to pose over roll because it just seems more RP-friendly that way, but using the system is also fun because funny results happen.
What's fun for the moment is probably the best, but vaguest answer.

I wish you the best of luck, and offer a venting wall to yell at if you need to.
On another note, I'm attempting to quit smoking again. And getting back into running. And slipping back into ketosis.
I will be fussy.
