@Runescryer God, +5 for Cthulhu Tech, -2 for them charging almost 50 bucks for some of their splat books that aren't even 200 pages and almost 30 for PDFs.
Great game, beautiful books and artwork. Bad call on MSRP.

Why haven't @ghost and @The-Tree-of-Woe delivered our X-Men only MU yet?
Hey, I have enough RL and work that I'm not a solid staff candidate. I'm about 2-3 days per week musher, not that 6-7 day musher.
I tend to have a lot of game ideas and could definitely support someone standing up a game, but a 2-3/wk headwiz just isn't a good thing.
If anyone wants to put this together, I suggest opening a post to recruit people for the project.

Bloodlines 2 is getting delayed.
I mean, for understandable reasons, but I can still express a brief
I kind of hate you right now for posting this. It's all your fault.
What? Ghost "Mister V5 fanboy" isn't okay with the V5-based Bloodlines 2 being delayed??? You did this. It's all your fault. Fuuuuuck
Seriously, its not like I'm old but when it comes to stuff like release dates these days I kind of mentally check off a "try not to die before March 2020 because Bloodlines 2" note in my head.
You're fuckin fired.
Update: "Delayed until sometime later in the year" OMFGFUCKYOUAUSPICE
Everyone is dead to me for the next 30 minutes.
@ZombieGenesis Seconded (Thirded?) A Penny-Dreadful, gaslamp Gothic non-WoD horror would be amazing
I was thinking about it...
Whether or not you're 100% on board with the X-Card (I'm not saying that I am just yet), I realize that there have been dozens of situations Even I have run into in mushing where I felt like I wished that I could anonymously call out a "nopenopenope" safe word without it turning into a personal issue.
Now, I still think the x-card would work better in a real-time (I.e. not turn based, but TT or Online TT) environment , but the thought did cross my mind that:
A + command (ex: +xcard) that would anonymously announce that the xcard and why it was pressed would be fairly easy to code
Ex: +xcard=rape
"The X-Card has been pressed. Please roll back pose or future mentions of: <content after the =>"

Or you could maybe disallow all OOC communication, like an RPI?
XD.
This would do great things for the community.
@bored Some friends and I were saying this recently. Bioware used to be THE go-to for RPG video games with depth. EA kinda ruined that for Bioware. Now the age of Dragon Age and Mass Effect are over, and it's open season for some company to be the new go-to.
There's some competition going on, and I feel like the next few years are going to be great for fans. They'll duke it out. We will benefit from it.
As like any new MU, the ability to play fair, be inclusive, and work for something that is universally designed to provide RP and fun for everyone is always an option. Some of us older MUers have seen the same mistakes repeated from game to game, and some of the decisions ROGUE has made have been excellent. It's a GREAT start, and it's the exact kind of thing that will bring obvious complaints from older games to an end.
Now, all we have to do is have players come into the game with the right attitude, the right sense of fair play, and not repeat other past mistakes. Bring your fairplay A-games, people. This is a great opportunity coming.
I would love to see a Dark Ages vampire-only (so Vampires and ghouls) game.
@sg said in Looking for potential staff for a Colonial Marines (Aliens) game:
@misadventure I particularly liked how they named their skill levels. I remember a month or two ago on Ares, there was a discussion about what to name the levels and it seemed nobody could really agree, but Aliens had very clear names that made sense.
@Ghost I think a game like that would translate well to an automated mush environment. Though, that might be more mud like than some people like.
Edit to add:
Holy shit..
That's a character sheet that screams EXCEL FORMULAS
Yo can you people go back and put your stuff in spoiler tags?
What I really wanna know is: Have Grey and a staff-alt Grounder hooked up yet for the inevitable "romance across political line" thing?
@Ominous said in What Types of Games Would People Like To See?:
@Ghost It would probably attract the most annoying of edge lords, though, and they're such a pain to RP with.
...
I...
...but...
...and there WILL be PUS-COVERED NOMADIC TRIBES OF EDGE LORDS WIELDING RUSTY HALBERDS AND BATTLE AXES AND REALLY FUCKED UP FACIAL HAIR AND FACEMASKS MADE OF SKIN WHO WILL RAID VILLAGES FOR ALL OF THE MOST BADASS MEN TO DRAG THEM OFF TO CAVE TO TURN THEM INTO THEIR SPOUSES.
LOL. Come on @Ominous, don't make this depressing.
@ganymede said in FCs on Comic MUs:
And this is my stance because no one has ever provided me with a satisfactory answer to the question: "why do you need to play more than one feature character on a game?"
You don't.
If you're not capable of finding plenty of RP on one character, taking up another character might seem like an answer at the time, but it shifts focus from character A to character B. The end result is less focus on a character who wasn't already fulfilling your need for RP and taking more attention away from it.
I'm a strong believer in the ethic that if you have 20 characters across 4 MUs, you're only able to focus 1/20th of your creative energy on any given character, and thus you water down the experience for the people you play with.

@Arkandel
30-35 hours of total gameplay to complete the main quest and all side quests. For a sixty dollar game in this genre that's pretty damn short. This is why I am glad it was on Xbox game pass... No extra cost on my part to play it.
this is how I am playing. It will still prob take me more than a month to play with my limited availability to do so. but we will see!
I'll be lucky if I can do it in a month myself.
AKSHUAAAALLLAY even if it takes you a month to do it, you're still doing it in 30-35 hours.
@Arkandel So long as people remember that staff-PCs being central to plots and doing the diplomatic work to disseminate roleplay is accidental
@Doozer Metalocalypse.
They didn't so much fight monsters with metal, but more so would play (example) an EPIC metal show outside of a prison in a 200 foot tall robotic spider stage where they assisted the prison in their death row executions by having prisoners launched on rockets into the sky, and then black hooded roadies use lasers to shoot the rockets and make them explode into shapes like colorful bats and skulls.
...and then accidentally cause a jailbreak that unleashes hundreds of murderous felons back into the civilian population.
I don't mind losing a character now and then, too
On that note...
From an advertising perspective, what I'm really curious about this game (aside from the earlier question about Grey-Grounder staff romance) is this:
I think ultimately, the question is, is this a game where the non-staff PCs decide the direction of the game, or is this game a conconcted story idea by staff that will require close monitoring and staff-PC plot control to avoid derivation?
