God almighty, Hollywood. It is 2016, cast a fucking Asian to play out Asian tropes. I mean, that's the absolute least you can do.

RE: What would a superhero game need to be/do to bring in a new player base?
I tried to get into a superhero MUSH and just..couldn't. Despite getting my favorite comic character. I love superhero settings but I think I'd only be interested in playing one that doesn't use established properties like Superman, Spiderman, etc etc. All OC!
I was serious, the One Punch Man - type setting is perfect for the game of my dreams. A reason to be associated, a reason to have a central location, and then just nutty hero characters.
Not that I have the time for other games.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Goods for crafting are all available on the market, in finite quantities that replenish at preset times. You don't have to raise/mine anything if you don't want to (and have the money not to have to). You can look at "crafting introduction" on the website for...an introduction, and of course there are in game files, but to address some of your questions:
- Each ability level will unlock recipes you can learn by typing "learn recipe", then so long as you have the goods in your inventory, you can craft them. Some things you can gather yourself with applicable skills but again - the market will also have stock of everything. The prohibitive good in this case is meant to be money, not the materials themselves.
- Customizable ansi coloring, XTERM 256 - yes. Also, Tehom has made an @gradient command like the one you might remember from Firan for helpful gradienting. There is no static name - IE you can make an iron sword and name it Starcatcher and nothing else if you want.
- We want the crafting/descing system to be opt-in. So if you do not use crafted clothing/jewelry at all, it will be assumed that you are wearing a normal outfit for your stature. But if you want to be wearing iridescite jewelry with dragon tear jewels..you will need to shell out the money for that. (I am really proud of iridescite, ok).

@Ganymede Punisher and Luke Cage coming, too! Netflix and Marvel are my new favorite power couple.

RE: Good TV
@Roz I'm not making fun of her plastic surgery, I just happen to disagree. I don't actually think she's great on the show. The role works for her because it's so deadpan, but being able to make facial expressions is pretty important to acting.

RE: Good TV
There's a high probability that if Supergirl gets dropped, CW will pick it up. So I am not worried.
You still should if you like the show. It'd mean a move to Vancouver (most likely), budget cuts (definitely) and quite possibly cast changes since say, Flockhart might not want to move.
Well, she already can't move her face, so I'm not sure that's a huge loss.

The consensus seems to be that we want a One Punch Man game. Hilarious! I like the bid system @Bennie mentioned, too.

RE: What do RPGs *never* handle in mu*'s? What *should* they handle?
@faraday said in What do RPGs *never* handle in mu*'s? What *should* they handle?:

Because people who believe themselves to be reasonable, steadfast, and intelligent are still manipulated because of their ego, fear, and ignorance.
They can be. They can also not be. Even the best advertisement in the world doesn't convince everybody, otherwise everyone would be buying (pick a thing). Is it because Bob failed his Willpower roll and Susy didn't? Or because they just have different tastes? I believe it's more the latter than the former. This doesn't negate the utility of social skills - people should still utilize the results of rolls in their RP as they see fit. It just makes them a matter of influence rather than mind control.
Edit to avoid double posting: @Duntada - As you pointed out, interrogation is complicated and controversial. Fortunately it doesn't come up that often in PC vs PC matchups, so I don't really have a strong opinion on how to resolve it.
If you are in favor of being able to ignore social dice rolls at will, what's the point of having them at all? I think they are a very good way, as Duntada (I think) mentioned, to let people who might not have the writing skill to portray charming, manipulative characters. I doubt even 10% of combat beast PCs in all of MU-dom are played by people who have any experience at all with actual fighting.
But if someone rolls a critical success on a seduction attempt, yea verily your PC should be seduced. Notable exceptions for common sense, of course. If the PC seducing yours murdered your family or is trying to seduce you outside your orientation, that should be contestable.

Is there a highlander angle outside of taking heads? That's sort of the entire goal of the series. There can be only one, and the others aren't just going to kindly decapitate themselves. -
RE: Downvotes
@Sandor Yes, because I care a lot. I have a big file for MU Soapbox and a board where I can pin photos and receipts and newspaper clippings and connect them all with red lines as I try to solve the mystery of the question of the conspiracy of what crawled up your ass and refused to die there.

RE: Good TV
It makes sense from the showrunner point of view. Doran didn't get the character development that Ellaria did, and the animosity between her and Cersei was very clear and very compelling. I mean, peoples' kids are getting poisoned. CAT FIGHT!
