for arx specifically i'd say outside the first batch of staff created rosters, all that's really asked is that there not be any hidden sexuality or gender expression GOTCHAS! A la the firan days, like @Tinuviel mentioned. Outside of Sao, who was (probably still is?) the go to roster generation machine, staff doesn't really make rosters anymore. (TO MY KNOWLEDGE). They say to sao: we need more princesses/disciples/archlectors/fishmongers, etc. Everything else is a player submission, which is usually them trying to fill a specific need they have for a position or a family. So there's no, like, gamewide census or diversity control mechanic.

@Rinel I mean. In ATLA the young people weren't the ones that had the accents. It was mostly older characters, or those who were very insulated in their own nations/areas. In Korra, errbody lives together.

@Roz yeah tbh anything suffers when compared to ATLA.

You are not lazy. You have executive dysfunction, and you get overwhelmed more easily than neurotypical people because you have issues with prioritizing and time management.

I am happy that you've had a good experience in playing other genders, orientations and PoC. But I have seen people had strips tore out of them, verbally, for doing what Egg suggested. Banned for doing so, as well, with the crass comment of, "Player is probably of the type to wear a nurse's outfit or Native chieftain costume for Halloween." I didn't stay long there.

But, also, that's kind of a good thing as it shows you the type of environment it is. I would much rather know up front if there is a crazy drama bomb waiting to explode.

But, that's not an inherent problem to playing against your RL type. That's a problem with people playing against their RL type for shallow fetish fulfillment.

Yeah, no. This is a situation where no one wins. There are folks who will find this idea to be as insulting as wearing blackface. And others who would call it cultural appropriation.

It's absolutely normal. Sense of passing time is notoriously missing in ADHD people. That's why routines are so important (haha, not that I have successfully ever implemented one).

I was even being generous. Actually, if it wasn't literally yesterday? I am 100% guessing if I ever attach a time frame to something. I can say with some certainty it was this month. This is also how we hyperfocus. We lose all sense of time passing. When i'm on meds, I sometimes think the headaches come because I look up and it's 3pm and I haven't eaten since lunch or dinner yesterday and when did I last drink water or caffeine? Whoooo knows.

All this. Well, not ALL this, I don't have Rejection Sensitivity but I have always had ADHD that makes it next to impossible for me to:

1. schedule things coherently. I have no concept of time. None. Zero. If it happened more than a week ago, it could have been 2 weeks ago, 1 year, or 7 years. If you want to know what I will be doing next tuesday, I will never, ever be able to tell you. I don't know how long it takes me to accomplish any task. I started recording common tasks for a journal and then stopped before I got through the list, because...

2. Follow through. See, ADHD means no time regulation + low dopamine, so the idea of delayed gratification is just a ???. I can't motivate myself by saying 'sure this is tedious but you have to do it and when it's done you'll feel proud you accomplished it'. Like, that's a lie. I can't believe it. So instead I come up! with Ideas! and plans! and get dopamine hits off THOSE. Or play games, that have constant, quick and engaging things to achieve!

3. Rest. I'm lazy and worthless and always procrastinating. I have feelings of DOOM near constantly. Am I forgetting something? I'm definitely forgetting something. I definitely did/said/didn't do/forgot something and now I am I N T R O U B L E

Always exhausted, because the second guessing and berating about my brain is a full time job! On top of my full time job. For me, ADHD meds make it so I can get out of bed, and feel awake and relaxed enough to actually start my day. Just. Pick a task and dive in. I can work on something and make conversation with the people around me without stressing or completely losing my progress.

And that lasts for 3-4 hours and then I get a headache and the exhaustion comes back. But it is far, far better than nothing.

I used to do things like go through char pages/galleries/ item / retainer lists every so often, and weed out the unthematic ones. but i don't and other staffers probably have more productive ways to spend their time, so you gotta point it out.

uh i have no idea what mechanic this is but it SOUNDS racist af, just from those terms. Never thought I'd be an elf apologist but EVERYONE SUCKS BUT HUMANS is yikes.
