Meanwhile if you asked me to describe my kitchen, like @Ninjakitten says, I could do so in fact-based terms... the cabinets are brown, the sink is right by the back door, the stove is gas with five burners... but I don't really see a vivid image in my mind. It's more like fuzzy still pictures at best.
It's interesting in that there's definitely degrees, between people that have photorealistic imaginations vs fuzzy imagery vs nothing at all. For me, asking me what color things are in the kitchen is a lot like asking me to remember the calendar date that something happened. I can take a guess. It might be right, might be wrong, I have no idea though I might sometimes get an extremely vague sensation.
What color are my eyes, HMM?

RE: A Lack of Imagination
Aphantasia blows my mind, and I try not to make the person I know who has it feel like I pity them but omg I pity them and if it was me I would be SO SAD (except probably not as I wouldn't know any different).

RE: Section 14 Teaser
@secretfire i mean you almost had a point until the "BUT CLIMATE CHANGE IS THE REAL PROBLEM". By that argument we shouldn't be roleplaying anywhere, about anything. We should be playing games, or even wasting time online. This logic breaks down immediately.

White People Problems: Bitching about the price of hummus.
....But I am also legitimately annoyed at the price of hummus. A single 8 oz tub is $4.89? WTF?!
Hummus recipe:
buy can of chickpeas
drain can of chickpeas
pour drained can of chickpeas in blender
blitzcheaper, tastier, healthier, fresher hummus.
Squeeze lemon and add tahini/salt/garlic if desired.
— your friendly neighbourhood Israeli
You definitely need tahini for the flavor/smoothness, but a big jar of that will make so many batches of hummus. Super easy and affordable to make if you have a high speed blender.
@aria google! you can make all kinds of hummus. Garlic, roasted red pepper, make it with spicy chili oil, make it out of any kind of bean...

RE: Faraday Appreciation Thread
Ares is a really cool fkin thing, actually progressing the hobby, and she's handled every suggestion/criticism I've ever seen with far more grace and patience than most coders, Tehom included. Which is not to say coders are obligated to be graceful and patient but it does kind of make her a saint. I think only Griatch also strikes me as that patient, so she's in good company.

In fairness to people picking tiny, fragile-looking characters for their hardcore warriors that has been something of a trend in Hollywood and other visual media. I think the only athletic looking action star that comes to mind is Michelle Rodriguez.
Silje Torp! Gwendoline Christie! Kaley Cuoco! VJ Bani! Sydelle Noelle! Angela Basset! Olivia Munn! Brie Larson!
Ok maybe I have a type.

i had no trouble with that desc tbh. I've definitely seen more oblique.

RE: Image Attribution & Creative Commons
I use PBs even though I would feel iffy about it. Generally only people who regularly get their picture taken and would not be shocked to see it floating around on the internet - models, actors, etc. I wouldn't ever just see someone whose face I liked and lift it off their personal social media, or something.
I'm playing a character using a model as a PB, and he recently died. Young, unexpected, tragic. I learned it after a scene and did some quick math and realized he probably died as I was roleplaying a character using his likeness.
It's weird. I felt weird, and bad. I have no point here, because I'm not sure what the correct ethical stance is on all this. I just wanted to share this story and how weirdbad it made me feel. RIP Godfrey Gao.

I self advocated! And it worked! I was a little blunt and firm and used words like 'unacceptable' and 'would like to be acknowledged as a partner in my mental health' and 'I don't feel like you are listening to me'. So now I will soon get non stimulant ADHD meds!!!
(because Kaiser hates cannabis and wont gimme stimulants lest I am 100% pee test clean. And as a former daily user who is overweight, tha'll take a bit.)
So, woo!
I have a medical cannabis card because my state does that. It's for migraines, but I've seen strains labeled as helping with ADHD and thought that has to be nonsense (I have ADHD and have been on and off stimulant medication since diagnosis in high school.) HOWEVER as it turns out the pot for adhd thing wasn't nonsense. There are a few that get me focused as anything, and can get a ton accomplished.
yeah it's not nonsense at all. I smoked pretty regularly for like 15 years, and during that 15 years I had no : insomnia, migraines, anxiety (the cause of the former), and didn't feel nearly as overwhelmed/scattered.
I stopped smoking and everything fell apart

I posted mine really quickly and am now going back to read everyone else's entries (I didn't want mine to be influenced by what anyone else posted) and I am lowkey throwing shade your way for Brad not making your list. Contrapoints did though, so I'm half-tempted to go try and sit through one of her videos, but someone I staunchly disagree with on all-the-things swears by her so I feel pre-biased.i didn't do an exhaustive list because I was like the second post and pretty sure no one was going to read them all! Brad is in my subs, though, he is a literal treasure and a rare bright spot in the world!
Same with BDG from Unraveled. And I really like Contrapoints. Videos aesthetic as hell and not afraid to tackle controversial subjects/opinions with thoughtfulness. She has deradicalized nazis and incels, according to testimonies I've seen, and that's pretty great. Men need help.
My favorite BEAUTY CHANNELS though are lord John Mcclean and Raw Beauty Kristi. I miss Makeupstruggles.
ETA: good luck with the job

James Charles fast-talk tapdances on every single one of my nerves, but I also want him to be happy at this point. Like who among us did not act like a dumb teen when we were dumb teens, let him fucking live. -
