      @Tempest

Again: The only stunts that will be allowed at CharGen will be from the list of approved stunts. I intend to be pretty exhaustive as to what I will allow, so that balance is where I want it to be.

This isn't like a table-top Fate game where people can just invent stunts willy nilly 🙂 As the person coding it up and in control I have control over what is allowed and what is not.

Unlike some places, I have /zero/ problem telling people 'No.' 🙂

    • RE: Big city grids - likes and dislikes

I don't think a big city grid needs a humongous city grid unless there is a massive and major territory system in place. I think humongous grids stretch out RP, people get lost, it's hard to get involved. Which is why my return to CoH has stalled out so badly.

I like grids that are easy to navigate, but expansive enough to offer choice. Like. you could do a grid that was 9 major rooms set in a series of 4 squares stacked in a bigger square. Then you have 9 major rooms with which to build locations off of which should give you plenty of choice for different areas of a city.

As Dennis Leary said: Good block, bad bloock, oooh!

I am so looking for BattleTech, can't wait, I kickstarted it at the 50$ level, haven't even read the new novelettes by Stackpole but just want to /play/ the campaign.

    • RE: Descent Reboot

150 XP is a metric ton of xp in nWoD (at least in 2e). I would probably suggest capping it much lower than that. Even with a paltry 50 XP it's possible with certain builds to get into the high teens for defenses and low to mid 20's for offense. That's without the plethora of questionable if not outright broken merits that exist in vampire.

@kairos Classic Alien Races: Eldar, Ork, Squat, Tyranid, Genestealers (Before they were Tyranids), Zoats, umm... There are more but I don't have my rogue trader book anywhere near handy.

@thenomain That depends on how many mechs you have active, how fast you upgrade stuff, and how many pilots you've got. I need 8 pilots, I get wounded pilots all the time, mechs get smacked and need repaired. I am running ragged edge but damn my Argo is fly.

@NightAngel12 Why in <insert diety or expetive of choice> name would characters ICly know /anything/ about points?

      Ugh.

@runescryer Easiest thing to do would be to have it be an opt in or opt out. Like the command that ran the ambiance was actually a pemit rather than an @remit, and the @pemit checked to see if the target in that particular room had the opt in or opt out flag on.

@thenomain You really want at least 3 heavies for 3 skull missions, I was using an orion, a jagermech, a catapult and a griffon 1n and doing three skulls without to much difficulty.

Right now I am running highlander, battlemaster, zeus, and catapult and can do 4's, haven't tried a 5 yet.

Also pilots matter a lot, for 3's you want people to have 6+s in every skill

    • RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?

Dark Matter and it's source material would probably be a pretty cool sci-fi game. You'd have politics, corporations, outlaws, civil wars... the scope would have to be narrowed down a bit maybe.

Easiest way to deal with leadership is just to have a command structure baked in. This person is team lead, so long as they are available. Then this person is second in command, unless they're not available, so on and so forth.

So been playing FTL finally, surprisingly addictive game for how 'simple' it is. Unlocked a few ships now, still haven't survived the final system yet with any ship lol.

@ghost I would actually play a game with FS3 if it were an Aliens setting world... I like the colonial marines angle a lot.

    • RE: Gamifying Plots

@bad-at-lurking The problem with this is that you are going to be excluding people who could bring more people in, or join up with other people to form their own group.

If you only appeal to an established group, then that is ALL you will have on your game. People will leave. You need to balance it out and make activity for everyone or what's the point?

@ganymede I never got the hate for Andromeda, it was a different story and not even a bad one. The only beef I ever really had was all the NPC's looking the same for the Asari.
