It's tough to be casual-friendly (not having Stuff happen at such a breakneck pace that the casuals can't keep up) while at the same time providing enough Stuff to entertain the folks who are super-engaged and online every other night. Maybe impossible.
This. The casual ones that last have accepted small number of folks who adhere to casual. Regulars and daily players find others. There are a small handful of casual and casual paced games. One we started up in 2016 that is casual by the stuff not happening at break neck speed is still going with routine RP.
I think in the casual arena, its leaning along the GOMO concept, play groups that sort of match styles for pacing/speed/participation. Breaking into a group isn't too hard as the folks are friendly, but it takes time to feel out the various places for someone doing that.
Not saying that's what OP is looking for, just its out there (x-files theme music queued).

at this time, the game needs to be casual friendly.
This isn't a 2020 issue at all. People have had trouble getting into games long before this year because they are not casual friendly. It's not going to go away once 2020 stops sucking. Like, being casual friendly is something most games should strive for?
This, for as much as folks enjoy involved heavy plot, action point spends, reports and engaging with the meta of a place, there are folks who will always enjoy casual RP too. No tentpole games may match it so much, but these places are out there too.
In Etheria, queerness is normal. It’s so normal, no one talks about it.
This is a growing trend in some Netflix titles. Daybreak and Dragonprince come to mind.
If it worked for Robert Downey Jr. for ten fucking years...
Didn't Jackson enjoy playing with these old tricks to mix up size on all the lotr films, as I recall?

If any big budget action director were to be given Star Trek, I'd love to see Nolans version.
This would be interesting. I mean I'd see a Tarantino Star Trek, but I'd look forward to seeing what Nolan might do with it.

Basically it'd have been set in an Earth-in-the-1930s-like gangster setting, presumably while trying to not break the Prime Directive. I dunno, that's certainly different!
Its called The City on the Edge of Forever, where McCoy travels to 1930s NYC and saves someone who was supposed to die, they start a movement that delays the US entry into WWII, and the Nazi's develop nukes 1st and win. Like that 1930s try not to break the Prime Directive, or different?
Given Tarantino's penchant in his last couple of movies for changing the past I suppose the time travel angle was more likely.
And his use of Nazis.

I mean wouldn't a French art house Trek be kind of amazing tho
I think David Lynch did this in like the 90s, are we talking about original Twin Peaks at this point?

I've enjoyed all Trek except for TOS stuff and the first season of Enterprise
shockfaced gif - my guitar gently weeps. But I agree, Scott Bakula was better in Quantum Leap.

You're saying when he gets banned for this, its a @coin toss?
Sea Hawk is hilarious.
Some say I'm a hero,
Some say I'm a man,
What I know for sure is
I'm Sea Hawk,
I am,
I am.
He's a legend.

Aisha
They announced Aisha wasn't coming back for season 3.
Jaw drop gif, noooo!
I just need more from Aisha. I figure they'll likely give her more of her own story in season 3
@GreenFlashlight said in Good TV:
I really like Aisha's character and I want to see more of her. I have this cynical suspicion the show isn't focusing on her as much because she's overweight and god knows we can't have that when there are girls with tight butts and deep cleavage to focus on. I probably should have included that in my grievances in my original review.
Both of these, I want to see more of her too. Nopefully season three gives her a little more sparkle to get away from the other girls and be on her own. I hope its not that the other girls are tight butted or whatever, I'd rather get away from that, but if they're using those to sell it (teenage sex) a little, meh. I'm in her corner, she's my fav.
He's a guy who was bullied for how he looked, so instead of some hackneyed LET'S GIVE YOU A MAKEOVER STORY TEEHEE (female chars get subjected to this far, far too often), they had him own the shit out of it.
Aisha is here, not doing a makeover, torn between being who she was and sporting some new change where she own's it. Tory and Sam's indifferent struggles might give her more independence we saw from her throughout, but Tory to follow after Sam left had her puppy-dogging a friend. She's ready to be way more independent strong.
@Pyrephox said in Web portals and scenes and grids oh my!:
If I sit in an open public scene by myself, it feels like the whole game can see it (and point, and laugh).
I'll say it, we've only had a few scenes, but sitting on grid or announcing an open scene, anyone should get into that location or scene, you're great fun to RP with.
Just a heads up, that server has gotten a little spotty (its the Rhost Mu server, a few of them are in semi-retirement). We will work to get it on Silvertree, the host has backups and long lasting batteries for power outtages and keeps us better informed. Sorry for inconveniences.
