Turning Red was a good one for me. Holy Metaphors Batman, it was loaded and they were direct at times. It was a lot of emotions packed in there representing a lot of teen angst that most go through as they learn independence from their parents. I wish they would have gotten a little theater exposure like they wanted instead of direct to Disney+ but I still greatly enjoyed this movie. My 13 year old daughter watched first and was happy to share with her parents for a second viewing.

RE: Iyashikei Games?
I've pondered a Napa Valley slice of life before. Like Dynasty but grapes/wine versus Texas oil country. An adult slice-of-life could be fun. But slice of live, not everyone's ex military or assassins or gangsters on the run, just regular folks so to speak. Calaveras aimed this way but we were lenient in some regards so it got a little jump the shark.

For example, if someone calls me mean things I'd probably handle that much better than another person. So what I'd consider abuse shouldn't be the totality of things when a player complains to me about an event.
Poopyhead.

Me neither but as a former Marine I had a laugh. A navy seal in command of the entire usmc arsenal. Cute, almost adorable.

I used to watch a ton of this guy on VH1 when I was a teenager.
FUCK! I have this man's stand-up in my Amazon library. He made me laugh SO MUCH.
This guy was genius, remember 5 to 10 years ago he was trolling the documentary people and had like 5 crews trying to document him and they didn't know he'd been making other documentaries. The one found other crews and started following the trails. It was great.

RE: Good TV
@wizz Agree to disagree. Gerrera existed on a sand world and he was more true cyborg than Fennec even, and the mods were just modded at best with a few benefits from the gear. The out of place thing for me there is the bright vespa speeders. I've seen nothing like that before, but I'm not as versed in the EU as some. I can see it as being a modded speeder bike, but I imagine speeders and swoops being more common on Tatooine then colorful modded speeders that go slower and don't look too tough. Like a mod prior to the modding up the naboo fighter that gives it a spoiler/air filter above the engine (I didn't know star fighters used air filters similar to older cars - and we know Jon Favreau like classic cars). I don't see a chop doc as being out of place on Tatooine, the exposed part is questionable, but other cyborgs have been on Tatooine in the cannon and covered up as much as Fennic does.
But Agree to Agree, I could have done without the mod gang in favor of nomads or tuskens or some other group filling in as low hired guns while Boba filled in the ranks. The look out of place as they're too shiny compared to the rest of the aesthetic.
ETA: I know there is mixed criticism, but from me, one of the older folks that saw SW in the theaters during its first run back in the 70s, Boba Fett has left me excited to see some of the upcoming star wars. It wasn't as good as the Mandalorian for sure, but I enjoyed it. I'm also the guy that would have been good with the continued Solo films even with some of the cannon changes it made to Solo himself.

RE: Good TV
@betternow Oh yeah, i forgot about that potential show, good point.

RE: Good TV
@arkandel I concur, as their first on screen time it could have been better, but more opportunity in her series.

RE: Good TV
@arkandel Agree to disagree. No the better ones didn't feature him as much but I still like his episodes.

RE: Good TV
@betternow @wizz I said it early, I was good with it near the beginning even with the mods looking half as much like the mods in 60s UK as much as a cyber gang. I see the critiques after the final are all over with the less Boba Fett they showed the better. I think in part they didn't overly show him to help keep some of his more silent nature, less words more action. I see some critiques about too much of other arcs, but I think it served as a good teaser for other things going on to help other upcoming series. I liked it at through and more so with how it wrapped up in the last few episodes.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
The Seventh Syn/Rogues Gallery/Some other better name - Star Wars indie based mu*
A collection of ex-members of the Five Syndicates/the Pride/criminal enterprises and/or independent folks (mercenaries/bounty hunters/smugglers/runners/marauders/pirates/etc). In possession of one heavily modified star cruiser (capital class star ship) with a contingent of modified shuttles and star fighters. Tired of the Empire and the syndicates that thrive under the authoritarian rule of the Empire. Pre Battle of Yavin era, early remnants of what may become the rebellion.
Grey morale chars (with a lean towards 'good' - chaotic good) that do shoot first (original Han vs Gredo, Han vs Tobias Beckett). They do run drugs/smuggle/take on mercenary contracts to make money, sometimes they do good (show up as mercenary but go above/beyond cause its another Syndicate or the Empire).
Some hand wavy reason they have some location to hide the cruiser when not on operations, good jump coords to some hidden part of the outer rim or something, but capability to go anywhere really and enough small ships for groups of folks to go do adventure time shenanigans in their own play groups (or committed STs of said groups willing to coordinate with staff for some consistency.
ETA: Regular play is missions/runs, going to get a job, lining up a job, doing the job, snafu situations on the job. The base where the capital ship goes to restock/replenish is like some Island of Tortuga place with some city stuff for a break from high end adventuring but the adventuring is encouraged with XP and goodie rewards or something.
Every PC is a badass, top 5% to 10% of population highly capable, in every dangerous situations (so Boba Fett is badass, even if the blind Han accidently puts him in the Sarlacc).

@wizz Other than a few things, I'm faring well with the series.
I'd like to just respond with my thoughts but I have to write a few things to hide the spoiler thing so, without further ado.

@hedgehog said in MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't):
@macha I dunno... splitting the corvids here seems very Church of England/Catholicism to me, somehow? I'm more curious if the inhabitants peacefully coexist, or if it's a point of conflict.
Makes it interestingly curious. I think its a point of conflict between the groups. I didn't think of Church of England / Catholicism after the dream but that seems really fitting.
And Amber is priceless resource, I think it ties into faith/magic, but going to the beach to hunt some up is a dangerous endeavor. I think its near the Baltic Sea cause of this and amber ties in, in its own way, to the saps and such they pull from the mutated toxic fruits/plants/seeds/etc.
That thematic music is pretty fitting, it inspires me to ponder more of this strange world, wish I could dream up some more.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
I had a weird dream in which I was coming up with some original theme world and I was telling someone else I needed a person from MSB to help fill in the details.
This place was future primitive steam punk, 1880s tech level after some fallout that left the world a poisonous place, always cloudy with like acid rains sporadically. Inhabitants generally had to wear masks regularly to breath but could go limited time without a mask, just long term health concerns. It was sort of like 9 in how reduced the population was. I remember the inhabitants had to use their tech to syphon toxic fruits and veggies for various applications from food to elixirs and such, they'd use needles to pull out sap and such from within the otherwise deadly fruits, then brew up what they needed. There was two clans with their own sort of special formulas for surviving this new world. And I was getting into culture and for some reason they were Shamanistic/totem worshipping. One clan revered Raven like deities and the other Crows. There wasn't much animal life, I am not sure if ravens and crows were gone from the world and revered that way, or if a few still survived somehow and thus the reverence. Not sure, at the part that ok up, I just remember telling the other person we needed a person here who left the community because they were big on fae/changling and they'd have good ideas for developing the faith side of these two clans, the Raven and Crow clans. Some or all could shapeshift into anthropomorphic forms.
It was a weird good dream, makes me curious about this place now. The dream was half animated as I came up with the ideas for the world and its inhabitants.

RE: Potential M&M 3E OC Game
Sounds awesome to me.
Couple of quick questions. Whatever system will there be someone to help folks get through it? Like Champions, I'm clueless, the only Champions places I played is when staff helped with CG. There was one where they gave me a blank face look when I asked for help so I never returned.
I'll check it out regardless of this next question, but just some curiosity. I'm good with street level to paragon, but will there be some distinction for folks to sort of get there level without too much mix up. Example, can swamp folks (swamp thing, solomon grundy) deal with some threat without Super folks (kryptonians) showing up and single shotting the plot? Like areas of play even, just some distinction.
Looking forward to it, just curious.

RE: Silent Heaven: Small-Town Psychological Horror RPG
This all sounds good to me. Wish I liked modern dark fantasy horror a little more.
The eavesdropping seems closer to the old places mutter code, where snippets sent to the room. While it could be abused as noted, it is fun when used appropriately. I remember times trying to relay some info and being upset with what the system relayed and it not being exciting enough for drama/ rumors. It sounds like it could be fun.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
I think I said it before somewhere but Cherry 2000 is my favorite dystopian future film of the 80s. Just wanted to mention it again, its similar to the likes of Road Warrior/Mad Max or Streets of Fire - civilization is in the cities, the rural areas are wastelands; sort of like Shadowrun.
Its on Hulu now. Its set in 2017, and its interesting/funy to see some things it got right. They have wine comes in an aluminum cannister, much like the aluminum water bottles that are popular now (which no one had in 1985 when the film was filmed). The funny thing is the bottom has a bar code which wasn't a thing in 1985 but everything is scannable now for self check out, so that was an interesting prediction. The lawyers for casual dating was funny but with the amount of prenups now, it wasn't /that much/ off the mark. And the car has a collision warning system, reminds me of my car telling me to break then slowing down itself if I tail someone.
I still like this movie
