      @three-eyed-crow Yeah what T said.

@mietze "strong" would be fairly clear AND in moderately common usage. To your point, maybe instead of "fast" or whatever, people could say 15m max pose wait, may be dropped from scene after 3+ missed poses

@derp you can do whatever you want on your games. I'm trying to not be limiting to whomever is reading it. Of course you aren't "responsible" for things that happen off your server, but do you also forbid asynchronous play, +mail play, paged RP, temp room rp - whatever it is where the characters aren't open official grid, in some form of real time? I don't think so.

I get the impression that people find trying to short hand your needs in a way players can better link up with each other and staff is a hostile thought.

I'm going to reiterate the idea that making a strong terminology around these differences in expectations is a really good idea.

People can use the discussion to better understand their own expectations, capabilities, and realities.

It could be used like the +kinks list, but for every kind of player (staffers included) interactions.

I think the asynchronous option is also one that would be great to advertise for given staffers or even whole games. Are the alternate forms of RP acceptable, for what kinds of scenes: alternate window rp, paged rp, on game mail RP, forum RP, email RP, etc?

    • RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)

I've heard it said that it needs some cultural recalibration. It's better suited to a video game or an automated enemies style text game, as it's high action and crazysauce.

It also needs to decide if no one really knows about weird things, or if the living dead really cooled the Civil War. People should notice the dead walking around.

However, my players loved it. They were surprised at how well they knew the Western tropes.

@zombiegenesis my question is always will there be some driving theme, setting, world events etc to shape the narrative for more than a month? A corrupt presidency, a war, an invasion, a changing of the guard, etc?

@macha Have you tried adjustable foot rests separate from the chair? I've had work chairs that came with them.

The sad thing to me about people wanting nice chairs is every office I have ever known had dozens they were throwing away, but they would never give them away or sell them.

@faraday said in New Project: Cyberpunk:Chrome Is The New Black:

I've found it far easier to have a consistent default of "This scene takes place on 1/6 unless otherwise specified" and deal with the occasional scheduling snafus and backscenes as they happen.

I think this would be the default. Or go with the proposed no it's today, every day, no matter what. I assume this is linked to predetermined events and changes to the setting and whether that march of time takes precedence over player scheduling issues.

I will say that unless events change things every few days, emphasis on the precise time doesn't seem important enough to shift from the usual way people play.

My only concern with the idea of strict timelines is the age old 'getting everyone together to run a scene that's supposed to be set on the 15th but can't get there on the 15th' kind of deal.

This is a thing. One suggestion is to define a time period (say a week, two weeks or a month) where time is fluid for OOC scheduling needs but then the timeline progresses.

A way ways back a game did this by season and I didn't hear any complaints.

@silverfox my kittens will never be over 4 weeks old! Never!

The boys seem to like heating pads, the girl does not. The boys also like being Sith kitties under a blanket, and the girl does not.
