So sad at this news. He had a gentle humour and always came across as a lovely person in interviews.

RE: RL Anger
Thank you @Faceless and @Ataru
My daughter is fine. She's quite often in that part of London, but wasn't last night. Kids. Never stop worrying about them!

RE: Fear and Loathing (Official Thread)
Not going to derail the ad thread. I posted to it because I was still getting people asking me about it from my original ad posting for it. http://musoapbox.net/topic/1422/fear-and-loathing?page=1

RE: Fate's Harvest BETA Live (Full Open Soon)
The information is out there if you hunt it down, and the in game helpfiles are incredibly well done -- better than I've seen most places. There's website links that condense most of the important stuff into easy to read format that cuts out the fluff of the books too, which most players will happily link you to. Head Staff have been very helpful to me as I've floundered through making a 'ling here. I'd say, log on and give it a go. Chat to people. Nothing to lose.

RE: Good writin'.
@Arkandel said in Good writin'.:
@Auspice I think I've mentioned this before but...
We were in a three-person scene that had been going on for a bit when this guy comes in from outside. Immediately, and without waiting to see what was going on or ask OOC what we wanted to do, he posts about him being bloodied because of the pitchfork-carrying mob outside trying to get'im.
In all my years in the game that was the grossest attention-seeking I've actually seen in practice. I still can't quite imagine a bigger 'fuck you and what you were doing before, from now on it's about me' than that.
If you were in a public grid spot and someone pulled that, it's fair game! Yes, it'd probably be annoying, but if you were in a bar or restaurant RL, a car can come crashing through the window, a psychopath can run in with a knife or some bitch from hell can come in and flip out that you're cozying up with her partner. It's impossible to control the world around you and if you're needing no interruptions your best bet is a private room.

I'm assuming the host got hit by something. Any info on when the game will be back up?

RE: Where to play?
You could check out Fear & Loathing too. It's an nWoD GMC game, with some hacks between 1e/2e. It's growing at a steady rate and they have an incredibly active vampire sphere with lots of politics, scheming and a huge sphere-wide plot that's drawing most characters in.
There are a number of players that are European and GMT+ hours, along with quite a few that play EST daytime hours.
Spheres are Changeling, Changing Breed, Vampire, Immortal, Mortal/+

RE: Best IC Character Deaths
@Faceless The Devil's in the detail. I ran Revelation on a 400 year old Blood Bather and there was a five hour confession of every sin he'd ever committed. (Which was hilarious.) Naturally, he decided he couldn't let anyone live after all that, and... cue slaughter.

Best IC Character Deaths
Character deaths happen. Let's celebrate them and post them here!
A couple of days ago I majorly fucked up with a decision I took, and my character got ashed. It was awesome. The ST was awesome, so shout out to Luxor there for his handling of it).
And here it is.
... And suddenly it's just Eden and Demyan left in the room. Which could be problematical. Eden's no fighter; never has been and never will be, and there might now be some regrets that she's never invested in learning the physical side of blood disciplines, but that can come later. If there's a later. Blood splatters her face from where Demyan's fist had crunched Joe's face, and she rises to her feet as all hell is unleashed. "Stop!" she says, her hand uplifted, palm towards him. She attempts to tap into whatever parts of Majesty she might be able to summon in order to inflict her own will upon his, but there's panic in both her face and her voice -- and it shows.
The power of sovereignty is among the most potent in any Kindred's potential arsenal. But here, it fails. The Russian's conviction, his bloodlust is too strong, and he marches forward, swatting Eden's hand aside and grabbing her by the throat. He lifts her a foot off of the ground, and squeezes tight. It's good she doesn't have to breathe. Demyan's nostrils flare again, a scowl affixed to his features, and he twists, slamming her so hard into the chair where Joe was just seated that it shatters. Then he grabs her ankle and tosses her up, so she slams into the ceiling, and falls back down to the ground with a heavy thud. From there, he picks her up again, putting the Daeva in a headlock that would make most wrestlers nervous.
She struggles, but her body is broken and she hasn't the first idea how to fight. Demyan, however, is a master. He drops to a knee and twists, hard, breaking her neck and shattering some of her upper spine. This is enough to render the Au Pair torpid, and she goes limp, lost to the black sleep. From there, the immortal pins her down and pummels her in the face with his fists until her skull is mostly splintered bone, then rises to his feet as her remains crumble into dry ash. He spits on the pile, and dusts his knees and shirt off, flicking his hands out a few times to get the blood off. Demyan looks around the room, grimacing. "Mr. Adler... there is saying in Russia. A goose... is not a pig's friend." He announces. There's a pause. "Do not forget that, you filthy, cowardly corpse." He spits again on Eden's ashes, and kicks the pile. With that, he leaves the room and slams the door behind him.

RE: Fear and Loathing
@carex It feels like you didn't properly read the information on the game's wiki page with regards to Guest Stars. There is currently a huge grid plot going on in which the majority of the fun is being had by the characters whom have come in as Stars. Because there are huge drawbacks to hobbling yourself as a Guest star. For ease I've quoted the text from the link to the page, I've bolded for emphasis.
http://fandlmux.com/Character_Types
Guest Stars are characters that start with higher XP and are not capped in character creation on what they can raise. Because they start out stronger they are under a number of restrictions. They are SUPPORT characters, whether as a mentor, a Sire, an advisor, or in some other supplementary way. Further, they don't lead the story and cannot PK except in rare and extreme circumstances, and are expected to spend at LEAST as much time out in public and available to their Sphere as they do in private. They should try to include everyone, foster RP, and be of use to Storytellers for PRPs. Players transferring characters over from other games fall under this category.
They are meant to reflect the fact that there are established people within the city when the game opens. They are, however, not Stars, and so they GAIN NO XP until certain conditions are met, at which point they become Stars. Consider them as playable NPCs. Guest Stars have the following benefits and restrictions:
Benefits
Guest Stars can start with a maximum of 150XP, and can buy Power Stats over 5 in chargen.Guest Stars can interact IC however they like with other GUEST STARS provided they follow the general rules of the game. They are restricted where Stars are concerned. (see below)
Guest Stars can enter into Pledges and benefit from them. If ICly given items (they can't commission them) like Tokens or Relics, they can accept and use them. In the case of such items added to their sheet, the XP cost is added to their total XP.
Guest Stars CAN hold IC leadership positions in less PvP-oriented factions and spheres, and CAN have smaller PRPs run for them as the leading role.
Restrictions
Guest Stars gain NO XP in ANY WAY - they cannot receive XP for +votes, +reccs, or for running/playing in PRPs. They are FROZEN at their XP until a Star has reached their XP level, at which point a Guest Star convert to a Star going forward.Guest Stars *must have some value to the game at large, or at the very least to their Sphere. They aren't given extra XP just because.
Guest Stars CANNOT PK OR protect STARS from PK. They aren't attack dogs or meat shields. Stars can't use them to go after their enemies or save them from them. If a Guest Star's IC SO or friend is a Star, and that Star is targeted for death by another Star for IC reasons (actions have consequences), they cannot follow them everywhere to protect them, OR avenge them should they die. If said IC SO/friend Star is attacked in their presence, they can protect them long enough to escape only and cannot PK their Star attacker(s).
Guest Stars are expected to be in public regularly, and be approachable for RP otherwise. They aren't meant to sit in private all the time and only play with their friends. While we won't revoke a player's character for breaking the spirit of the rules, any player who keeps their Guest Star in private all the time will be barred from making any future Guest Stars thereafter.
Guest Stars cannot take a leading role in sphere- or game-wide plots, and should be supporting Stars as the true heroes.
You can only have one Guest Star on the game at a time. Remember that having a Guest Star is a privilege, not a right.

RE: Changing Breeds: Durgar's Blessing
@ThatGuyThere It was sliced off in combat.
Thank you all for your responses. I kind of still find it a bit wonky that you can insta-regrow a limb, but a lot in WoD is kind of unbelievable when you think about it.

Changing Breeds: Durgar's Blessing
Durga’s Blessing (•• or •••)
When the goddess Durga rode into battle on her tiger, she conferred her immortal ferocity upon his descendants. Ages later, this Aspect lets a character heal aggravated damage to himself. For one Essence point, the feral can regenerate a single Health point lost to aggravated damage. If the feral can spend more than one Essence per turn, he may do so and heal that number of Health points. This healing, however, is limited by the character’s Feral Heart dots; the points of damage healed in one battle cannot exceed his Feral Heart trait. Bashing and lethal damage remain unaffected by this Aspect.
Weretigers, thanks to their ancestral legacy, pay only two dots for this Aspect; all other characters (werecats included) pay three dots. This healing works in any form, and manifests as a glow of bright orange light around the wounds as they heal.
I'm floundering. Recently a feral character posed instantly regrowing a chopped off limb due to having this merit. I can't find any documentation for this, and know that in vamp sphere regrowing a limb is a matter of days/weeks. Does anyone have some info on this?
