RE: Regarding administration on MSB
That wasn't what I thought the mistake was. I thought in this case that the error was giving credence to a complaint without any reality behind it, thereby loaning it legitimacy it might not otherwise have.
Warning against a MSB cabal to take down a game is like paying attention to sovereign citizens citing the uniform commercial code.

RE: Hello MSBites! Grade your administrators.
I dunno, I feel like "I reject your apology because I think it is manipulative and disingenuous" or whatever is a reasonably civil way to respond to an apology you find insincere as opposed to being like "you're a garbage person and that's a garbage apology" and then you can go to the hog pit your own self to be like "holy shit HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME."
YMMV, I guess.

RE: General Video Game Thread
I think the best part of that article is the data that gamers who receive complaints about their behavior are also terrible to work with.

RE: Period Piece Face vs Modern Face
@kanye-qwest I actually think John Cusack is also a modern face. I think the Cusacks are just modern.

@sunny I'm so sorry you're having to go through that. Augh, I hate bodies.

RE: farfalla banned
I appreciate the importance of a bright line rule, but for the reasons Roz cites, reconsideration in this case is warranted. Noncontact is traditionally interpreted as a shield, not a sword, and is being used otherwise here.
With that said, ultimately moot, because if I were farfalla I wouldn't be coming back here after this either way.
And I probably won't be either.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Theoretically, generally speaking, you shouldn't be held responsible for a fraudulent signature executed on your behalf. I suppose if someone acted in reliance on that signature in good faith to their detriment there would be an equitable question about what that would mean in terms of enforcement. One question that may come up is what action, if any, you took upon discovering a fraudulent signature was executed on your behalf.
IDK what enforcement provisions you're worried about 7 years later, tho.

RE: Who are you?
I went to law school without a clear goal in mind. I won't say it was a mistake. I landed on my feet and I'm pretty good at it. People tell me I'm doing the lord's work. I'm certainly doing someone's work.
I do tell people not to go to law school pretty routinely, though. For many it seems that 'law school' is somehow a magic ticket to success and money and I don't believe this is the case. Except for patent attorneys.
I've been reading this thread trying to come up with interesting facts about me and I know there must be some. I'll be back if I figure any out.

RE: Review of Recent Bans
@macha A slap on the wrist for saying "message received" and then blocking you? Why?

RE: General Video Game Thread
I've been playing The Arcana, which is a mobile game. It's beautifully drawn and has pretty music and a neat story. It's a romance / VN with several unique routes and a story wound up with some neat Tarot mythos. You can pick your gender and pronouns. It's real good. I have been enjoying it enough that I looked up the dev and downloaded their other game also.
I have spent too much money on extra scenes. >.>

RE: The limits of IC/OOC responsibility
I think "some" is the operative word. It is a balance. I recently was elevated ICly to one of those positions and I agreed to it expressly because I wanted to help shoulder the load. Still doesn't mean I want all my RP to be the load.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
The following are a list of times that, as much as I love my cat, I do not need her to purr loudly while grooming my face:
9:30 PM while I am trying to sleep;
1 am;
3:40 am;
Half an hour before my 5:30 am alarm goes off.Sigh. It is going to be a long day.

RE: Fear and Loathing (Official Thread)
General best practice may be, in future, to choose between getting down in the mud in a thread and being the mod who mods it. I don't wanna pick on Auspice here, I just think it may be an appearance thing that will save everyone from dumb drama in the long run.
