I had no problem with the first Pfizer shot beyond hella painful arm, but I was hot garbage after the second.

RE: MU Things I Loveposted in Mildly ConstructiveIt was a total surprise. She and I had passed post cards back and forth so she had my address and just SENT IT. Zero warning.

RE: MU Things I Loveposted in Mildly ConstructiveMu mu* wall. Large Dragon: Ohanaveth, my turtle based, done by my little sister as a gift
Knit Dragon: Nadeeth, my little lady dragon made by a player in New Zealand. (It also has a sparkly knitted egg not pictured.)
Blue/gold Cord: K'vvan's Arroyo Wingsecond knot, done by a friend in New Mexico to commemorate his most successful rank
Centipede Army Badge: Comissioned by fellow Ansible player to commemorate the first army I ever commanded there
Eage: Nod to the ethnicity of my first character ever
Green Glass Dragon: Bought on whim (because I love my green Nadeeth okay?), shattered by students, then after two years of searching replaced
Bee Beret: Made by @thesuntsar for Norwood to represent our beret fadAnd finally: Norcat! Made by @Crawfish. Anyone who says muing is just a game misses some of the point. I have cherished memories of the people and places I've played.

RE: The Work Threadposted in Tastes Less Game'y@fang Something about protecting the school so they can hire in time and/or so I don't skip out on the rest of my contract? Except because they won't give me a recommendation I will not put in my resignation until I am totally sure I have a new job period, and it will be harder to get a job since I won't have as many qualifications? I do not understand.

RE: The Work Threadposted in Tastes Less Game'yWow I post here a lot but... This year has made me wonder if the classroom is really where my best efforts are at. I would like to move into an intervention role wherein I can work with targeted groups. I realize that this is not possible in my building, so I have to go elsewhere. It is mid March and I THOUGHT I was being responsible by going to my principal and telling her about my plans and asking for a letter of recommendation. Apparently it is "HR policy" to not provide letters of recommendation until the employee has resigned. I am absolutely without words. (Also, I wish I had a union atm.)

RE: Podcastsposted in Tastes Less Game'yI've been listening to History that Doesn't Suck. It was rough (unprofessional) at the start, but steadily improved so I kept listening. At episode 65 their sound engineer had to quit and Airship took the podcast on and HOLY SHIT the change in quality. It was everything I loved about the podcast (seriously researched, nuanced, unapologetic, funny) but now with the sound expertise of an audio drama. I was casually binging - now I can't put it down.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuffposted in Tastes Less Game'yThe second shot is a bitch. 100% take the next day off in advance. You will feel like you got hit by a bus.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuffposted in Tastes Less Game'y@cassite I use better help. It is very ymmv. I just switched counselors because the one I was with was limiting her hours. You can do phone, text, or video call. It is ~pricy~ but if you can't get care anywhere else then it is worth it. My little sister has had 3 different counselors but I am hopeful that she will find someone she clicks with soon.

RE: The Work Threadposted in Tastes Less Game'yThere's stuff going on with my little sisters that has drained all my energy. Then at school my favorite kid (yes, I know I shouldn't have favorites, but his story is the one that just makes you SOB and so I can't help but love him) hit me and threw ice at my back?? Then another kiddo threw an absolute shiz storm and screamed any time I tried to give the other kids directions and started kicking me. Like... this is not my favorite part of being a teacher.

Snow Day - Remote Learning Dayposted in Tastes Less Game'ySo we just got the news that because we are SO PREPARED FOR IT (insert sarcasm here) that instead of snow days we will do "remote learning days." Considering the serious equity of these days I was wondering from the parents here, what kind of things would you WANT your kids to do on a "remote learning/snow day" that your kids would enjoy? I want to prep some stuff for my building (preK-8) that we can toss out and not lost the ~joy~ of a winter day off. (Build a snowman and tell me a story about it is my #1, but I already used it during remote learning!)

RE: Texan MU*ersposted in A Shout in the DarkThat is so awesome. Neighbors being able to help neighbors is the shining star I take out of things like this.

RE: The Work Threadposted in Tastes Less Game'yDear boss, We had a procedure. I was following the procedure. You decided to throw the procedure out the window and go cowboy. I understand you THOUGHT you were being helpful, but it was not helpful at all. Instead I spent 40 minutes texting with you (when you SHOULD have been paying attention to recess duty...) with you using vague 'it' and 'them' instead of nouns and proper nouns which confused me even further. So if we could please follow the procedure in the future, that would be great. Thanks.
