      Probably the best. I don't like adding additional /, as it already will be used within the command (ie, xp/spend target/stuff). I also don't like locking people into a form, not if /unspend is easy enough to use.

      I think I'm late to the shitpost but I just want to say, having worked on many projects side-by-side with @Thenomain, and having spent hours and hours talking, I feel like we've been intimate together.

      @HelloProject I didn't really read anything but the first page of posts, but I did want to toss out my most important bit of advice, as it didn't look like it's been said.

      Surround yourself with people who like you and support you.

      I know the idea of surrounding yourself with "yes men" is seen as very toxic. Surely, it can be a problem. But I've never seen a game owner struggle more than when they had to argue at length with their own staffers. It's truly exhausting and it's generally very bad for the game. If someone disagrees with you, that's fine, you can have a talk, but more often you will see a handful of staffers continually disagree with the head staffer. They harp on things, they continually bring it up, they refuse to let it go. If you find yourself with people like that on your staff, show them the door.

      Because, ya know what? If you're doing silly things, your players will let you know. You don't need to get attacked on staff channel for it, too.

      @Coin Social combat system is being written atm! A spin off RfK, designed to be a bit simpler and more direct.

      It'll be done and on Fallen World sooooon.

      (Also, I read no other post but the one my name was mentioned in.)

      Edit:

      Highlights:

      • It's simple - one roll vs one roll to accomplish simple things.
      • It has a complex system to fall back on (Chronicles of Darkness Social Maneuvering, via the book).
      • It allows players to "opt out" when they have an appropriate reason to (such as, say, you hiding your deepest darkest secret from someone's random "detect lies" roll).
      • It rewards players who "lose" their roll and comply with the "attackers" goal.
      • It allows a lot of stats (skills and merits, in this case) that don't normally see love to have value.

      Any chance anyone has the help files for Brandy Mailer? They're not on the MUSH code website. It has you create the help file, but doesn't give you any actual stuff to put into it.

      I did a few google searches, but didn't find anything.

    • +repose command for TinyMux

      Hi all. I've just finished up my latest project.

      The +repose command will pull the last 30 minutes worth of poses that have happened in a room. This is useful for when you spam your screen (+sheet, mail, jobs, etc) and don't want to scroll back up, or if you get disconnected and lose your buffer, or if you join a scene late and miss the scene set/introduction.

      It allows for you to exclude rooms, turn it off in rooms you own, or temporarily turn it off anywhere. You can also clear the repose log.

      Using the command looks a little like this:

      Pikachu posed at 16:24:
      	Pikachu says "Hello there my name is Pikachu! What's your name?"
      
      skew posed at 16:24:
      	skew glowers. "Don't talk to me, electric rat."

      As ever, I'll help install and the like, if you want it on your game.

      Known issue: The code uses secure(), which strips your pose of commas and parentheses. This is likely something I could get around, but a combination of limited coding knowledge and already having coded it all before I noticed an issue means this was the best solution. Plus, if someone just needs a reminder of what they missed, it's not a big deal.

      Also, Thenocode might poop itself if you add all those games. The way we (me and Dosbot whatever his name is) for Fallen Worlds (which is what is on Theno's Github) has each Rote as it's own stat object (just like merits, powers, etc). The result is 300+ rotes on the data dictionary (each one has several attributes to make it work, ofc. So more like 900+ attributes?). Your dd object might run out of room. I don't know.

      Can anyone confirm BrandyMail works on TinyMUX?

      Right here: http://www.mushcode.com/File/Brandy-Mailer-1-4 it says PennMUSH only. But then the updates/patches are TinyMUX/MUSH. So I am confused.
