Okay! This will probably be the last time I post in this thread.

I've finished with my application for my Changeling, and while it was a good bit of work, most of that work was self-imposed. It was not at all an unreasonable amount of work, and @The_Supremes was a joy to work with pretty much across the board for our group. He's a talented storyteller with a lot of personality, and everything's laid out in as much detail as it is because he wants people at least in the same chapter of the same book when they come to the table to play his game. It's not really a reasonable expectation that we'll all be on the same page, but we can at least get into the same chapter.

He has a plot, and from what I understand so far, not only is it a good storyline in that he adapts to the players involved (rather than railroading), it's going to result in the characters actually having an impact on the world around them. This is hands down the best way to get buy-in for folks. He is also well aware of the impact a big group app will have on his sphere (displaying that this definitely is NOT his first rodeo, and he has the experience to back up his claims here).

Five out of five stars, honestly. I recommend this game.

Wow. That kid sounds like he should get some sort of good Samaritan recognition or something. That's awesome.

Good things for me: I get out of the toxic hellhole I was working in as a reasonable accommodation for my new disability. This is like, THE BEST THING EVER.

@Sunny Try smoking CBD strains, oils in particular. Although some tolerance will need to be established for medical means to work with a clear head, they impact the mental state least because CBD is the pain-killing component of cannabis, while THC gets you high. My favorite strain for headaches and body aches: Harley Quinn. Great in a vape pen, though for professional/medical use, I recommend investing in an errlectric nail so you don't burn too much butane when dabbing away. Live Resin is best.

I'll check in with my doctor and see if he'll rx me to go shop at the med supply store. instead of the recreational stores. The shop I go to only has one high CBD strain and it's not great. Definitely worth looking into, though. Thank you.

@silentsophia I'm in a state where marijuana is legal, but I pretty much have to get stoned for relief, and I can't work like that. It'll get figured out, my doctor won't let me suffer forever.

Kushiel's Debut! It's a Kushiel game, so adult themes and so on.

@Luna I'd been on Ibuprofen for chronic pain and it was working so good, treating an old injury that there is no fixing; I've been at MMI for 20 years. I even had a second medicine to deal with the trashing of my stomach.

It was pretty hilarious in the hospital, I have to admit. I asked the nurse for some Ibuprofen and he reacted like I'd asked for heroin or something. NO. NO YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT. He called my doc to confirm and came back and was all 'we can give you this horrible opiate in your IV, but no Ibuprofen for you!'

It's just like...really? I am here trying to find any avenue to avoid narcotics and it's preferable to inject me with that craziness than...ibuprofen. Thank god I'm allergic to morphine and you can't give me that. Okay, okay, I get the point, NSAIDs are bad for me. It's amazing how limited the options actually are.

@Luna, Oh, there's always hope. I got really really really really really lucky with what happened, and I sorta got some sweet drugs. It's really frustrating that there really aren't any non-NSAID non-Tylenol painkillers that aren't narcotic and/or labeled DO NOT USE FOR HEART PATIENTS. Motherfuckers. Somebody needs to get on that shit stat.

Sciencey people around here, are you listening to me?! You have a mission!

Crazy medical things that should not happen to me happening to me anyway. -.- But! On the bright side, my doctor is getting involved with the crazy stuff happening at my work, I get a couple of weeks vacation (damnit he wouldn't let me go back tomorrow I waaaaaanted) and the medication I got put on as a result of said craziness finally dealt with the symptoms we have been trying to figure the fuck out for months now. I also can't put more than 5 pounds of pressure on my one arm, which means I don't have to cooooooooook or carry things or be anything but a pretty princess for a few weeks. Still. Not worth it! STUPID BODY BEING FALLIBLE.

I use MuClient, love it. On my phone, and I do successfully RP on it provided everybody involved is OK with slow. It's not too unwieldy and you can set up a bunch of shortcuts to enter things in quick (like page longnameomgkeypadtypingthisissuchanothappening=). I'd check it out.

      @BetterJudgment

Send me a message if you think you'd be interested, I can tell you about stuff at KD. They actually have a rating system in terms of exposure-to-stuff (not consent related, just what gets typed out rated). The BDSM portion of things is, while there, more of a backdrop than anything else in my experience so far.

Doctors that don't listen. Fucking hate them, OMG. Fuck you for not taking me at my word when I said what was going on and being a condescending PRICK, giving me the impression that you feel like I'm wasting your time...for the first 2 hours, and then do a complete turn-around and be all leap-into-action when my test results came back.

Mind, I agree. Test, confirm, absolutely. But making me feel like you think I'm a faker while we're waiting for those tests? FUCK YOU.. I am having a hard enough time here. I do not want to be here any more than you want to be my doctor right now. Show a little fucking respect.

It's so fun. Come on over to the dark side, @Luna. You'll have so much fun. I recommend it to pretty much anyone who enjoys the low-fantasy sort of game. Well, right now I'm recommending everyone to it at all. Because it's amazing and fun.

I think I tried Kushiel's Debut. Or some Kushiel game. The players weren't welcoming nor were staff. At least towards someone who has never read the books. I was gonna try it out because a friend was there.

I totally do not think it could have been KD. The players and staff there (there are two of them) are the most helpful, friendly bunch ever. My mind has been blown, seriously. It's probably been one of my best new-to-a-game experiences, right up there with Leading Edge, Redemption, and Second Pass.

They mostly all have their characters done, I'm the lagger, but we're a mostly Unseelie sort-of-a-Household; our former Baroness is now a Knight and we've come on a QUEST to Detroit because of how awful it is there, in short form. The characters are pretty great thus far; it really should be SO much fun.

@Cobaltasaurus That makes me sad. It's pretty much an amazing game. I don't have enough good words to describe the place, but I've been pretty consistently impressed. Boo for flaking. 😞 You know some people don't care though. You could always ask. Though I don't know how hard you flaked on it.

Just to throw this out there, because I should! I am in the process of making a character on the game, and a bunch of people I play with have been doing so as well, and Sups is reasonable, fun, and while I still disagree with some of his decisions they're consistent and they're reasonable -- there's multiple valid ways to interpret different things, and his is actively valid.

Game gets four out of four stars thus far. He's an active, intelligent, reasonable, and friendly staffer/game lead. He explains his decisions, he looks to make sure characters fit in just right, and is a good storyteller. So yeah, he is as reasonable as he presents himself here. If you're looking for an oWoD game, I have moved from neutral to 'it's a good game'.

      My two cents.

Public game wise right now, I am:

      Emma@Kushiel's Debut
Rae@From the Ashes (still in creation stage)

I'm always down for RP and pulling people in and all of that. I'm not really running plots currently because Amber and Victoriana are eating my ST brain, but I do tend to generate a lot of RP for people.

I looooooooove my Toshiba -- the SO broke my desktop the other day trying to help, so I had to haul my 7 year old (oh geez I've had it forever) laptop out to use for the time being. The keyboard is toast, but I plug my gaming one into it and I'm golden. There have been very few functional problems with it.

I've been working on a new game, as well. Which is also something I swore up and down and sideways that no, never again. I think there's a lot of that going on right now. I've actually got a handful of players I'm interacting with these days that are 2 years or less in the hobby, which is freaking amazing, and I've been watching some people who 'quit forever' come back, too. I think I definitely agree that something good is happening with the hobby right now.
