RE: Fallout: Montreal
Heehee! I learned the hard way. I am too old for that fiddly shit and had to split it into two servers after mucking it up.

RE: Fallout: Montreal
Might be easier to make a 'player' discord than trying to lock the history to hide spoilers

RE: Staff Needed!
Back to needing a mage staffer. Vamp staffer would be nice, too! We have two on m/m+ and 3 on Wolf.

RE: Staff Needed!
Got a Mage staffer that's already building theme. Two teamed up M/M+. Got someone that's lived there to help with mapping (Leaning towards using the different lines of the L for the division points between the different territories).
Could still use a couple more hands on-deck to help form a wiki and tag in on Vamp and Wolf with me. I can run them, but /3/ Praxes plus wolf is going to be roooough without extra paws.

RE: Staff Needed!
@Arkandel - Hmm. Disappointment, I guess? After knowing people can get through cgen in ten minutes from submission to approval, it kills me to see people on games waiting weeks for approval. Hearing about simple jobs sitting, staff being jerkfaces and losing their shit on channels...
I guess a lot of it boils down to wanting to give people a safe place where they can have the fun they want to without cringing like slapped dogs every time a staffer says 'hi'. So it's entirely ooc driven.
That's my motivation, in a nutshell.
Tl;dr - Being better isn't hard, and people deserve a safe place to play.
P.S. - 2e is better >.> Ducks

RE: Staff Needed!
@Arkandel - Not 100% on the big plot yet. You played on Descent, briefly. What do you think I do differently? Cause I look more at whether it's oocly repressive and terrible than 'will I like the metaplot' when I look at places.

RE: Staff Needed!
Yup. That's also let me expand to the full 77 neighborhoods and grow the grid over time as needed, or as a neighborhood is requested instead of having to do it all at once. Digging and descing are a lot easier to do when it is in smaller chunks like that, so each room gets some love instead of 'oh look, more dumb buildings cause this is room 589 and fuck descing'.

RE: Staff Needed!
I'm thinking 'nesting neighborhoods'.
So, for example, you have
North Side
-> neighborhood within north side
-> * INSIDE that neighborhood. -
Staff Needed!
Looking for a few folks to get in on the ground with the new project. nWoD 2e. So far there's m/m+/wolf/vamp code in, if I can find reliable staffers for other spheres, I can try to obtain the code (looking at you, @Thenomain)
City of Shadows will be set in Chicago, and pull from darker modern themes. Think robocop/constantine/Luke Cage/the punisher (netflix series). Taking @Ganymede's suggestion and running with a darker/grittier theme.
I plan on running it +job-lite, meaning the tedious jobs that tend to sit, won't really be an issue. Most xp spends are automated (and the others are just a bit of code tweakery and need a note), leaving more energy for running plots and telling stories. I don't really separate the spheres, not in the classic sense of it. I want templates to be secondary to story. Yes, this means I plan on learning any other splats that get brought in - enough to ST for them, anyway.
I'm aiming for a place that's low/slow xp gain, with a bunch of ways to supplement that - you gain xp as fast as you contribute to the game. Want to be a high end heavy hitter? Be active, his the random scene lists, run plots, be in plots, etc. Low, low red tape. A malleable world that players can have large effect in.
There's not much on the wiki (cityofshadowsmux.com) or on the game, yet (cityofshadowsmux.com 2860 or 178.128.159.23 for direct connect), I'm working on finding a smaller map (77 neighborhoods is a lot!) or getting some extra hands to help with desc'ing once I get it all built out. I may consider (depending on the plot arc) starting in a small portion of the grid and opening it via unlocks and exploration as I did with the first run of Descent.
Anyway! Hop on, say hi, I'm Chupathingy (subject to change). Basically if people want mage, want X, want Y, come and help built it with me.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Watched Extinction earlier and yeah, it was fantastic.

RE: TDM Modern Reskin
I have more time these days. Baby is in a routine and the 14" incision from the early c-section is healed nicely.
ETA: I posted an example of how the praxes were handled. I feel I have a heavy hand when it comes to politics and am too easily read? Visible? Not subtle? That's why I feel like I suck with politics.

RE: TDM Modern Reskin
Looking for maps that are easy to turn into a grid, I stumbled on this lovely thing https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b3/Chicago_neighborhoods_map.png
It'd make a nice big grid that can be broken down into smaller maps of the different sections, and work well with the 'neighborhood' type clustering I like for digging.
Domain name has been acquired, a wiki slapped up, and an empty mux running. Just need to get the flat file loaded and start on some wiki work.

RE: TDM Modern Reskin
Notorious flakes with amazing ideas backed by a less flakey sort would be a pretty solid pairing.

RE: TDM Modern Reskin
I'm not 100% set on Chicago - What I want is somewhere with water access and different environmental biomes to play in. Preferably something that hasn't been done yet or in a while.
The dual praxes/multiple praxes on Descent worked as an 'open border; different states and rules/rulers' concept. West was lenient and pushed for rebuilding. East was hardassed, heavy handed, traditional. It opened a 'safe' path for conflict, politicking, espionage, sabotage.
A good example was the diptheria plotline. West gave East access to a library in trade for East to sit back and not kill off sick people. West was working to get a cure. East kept taking out the caravans, so they had longer access to the library. Knowledge that would weaken West's tenuous ability to keep the two factions from outright war.
West was a lot bigger, but mostly farmers. East was small but had heavy fighters. West could keep East tethered for so long as they could keep the East dependent on the trade goods (food, supplies) that East desperately needed for the dense population they had.
So it opened a lot of plot and mischief options with a larger plot arc that could be resolved and roll into the next larger arc.
ETA: I know I suck at politics, I know this is probably pretty obvious and heavy handed -.-

RE: TDM Modern Reskin
As long as the concept can wriggle to fit modern instead of post-apoc, I have no problem with people recycling a concept they want to explore and play.
