Trailers mean nothing.
Trailers mean hype. Which is what the game industry currently runs on.
Not actual gameplay.
I really would like to get the collector edition but god fucking damn 250 is a lot. And I tend to waste a ton of money anyways, but still.
So, Octopath Traveller. I'm usually not a stickler for graphics, but paying full 60$ price for a game that looks on par with SNES Final Fantasy 6 is kinda making me go ehhhh.
Is this the greatest RPG ever story and mechanics wise (I have trouble imagining how much one can do with turn-based rpg combat) or something?
What is justifying it being full price?
(Also, how similar is this to Saga Frontier? I loved that game.)
On the matter of pokemon, I just got my switch a couple weeks ago and I'll prooobably wind up getting pokemon when it comes out, but since I haven't played since like..Ruby(?), I have some questions.
First, I will probably always have a soft spot for the gen 1 pokemon. Vulpix, Growlithe, Krabby, Jolteon, Abra, etcetc. I'm sure some of the new critters will grow on me, buuut....
Is it even possible to get old pokemon still in the newer games? If they are...Are they actually catchable in the game, or would you have to like...trade them across 7 different pokemon games/systems to get from gen 2 to gen 6?
(Tangent, related question, if there are more than just 'current gen' wouldn't that mean they'd have to have images/etc built into the game for EVERY POKEMON EVER? That seems like a lot.)
Second question, if you bought both versions (Sword and Shield) would you be able to trade to yourself, or would you also need a 2nd Switch from somewhere?
I haven't played a pokemon game since like...the days of the gameboy advance, but I have to be honest, this looks pretty fun.
Is this the first pokemon game (rpg/mainstream series, not including the off-shoot games) with 3d models or have I just not been paying attention? The art style of the pokemon is super cute.
Also, I do believe something addressed to literally everybody reading something (including myself, ofc), is the complete and utter opposite of "getting personal".
I'm not certain that it's @Arkandel's responsibility to protect people from things they don't like to read.
Sometimes, criticism has to be firm, when it's been proven repeatedly that 'polite discussion' of things gets ignored.
I believe I am pretty firmly within the Rules of Engagement for this branch of MSB.
If you read into other parts of my post and took things personally, when they were addressed universally at a fundamental problem in the psychosis of the hobby rather than any specific person, I'm not sure that's my fault.

I'm not sure how any of this has to do with what I believe Sparks is talking about, which may be why she casually walked around what Too Old for This was saying. But I would approve and support of a measure that holds staff to a higher standard of conduct than players by virtue of their positions.
So, the reasons behind what Sparks is talking about, have nothing to do with what Sparks is talking about?
Or is it just that it's easier to ignore them?
This all just reeks of absolute nonsense.
@Too-Old-For-This already largely hit the nail on the head and I notice it's the one person in the thread that OP decided to not reply to.
There is generally zero accountability for staff, because the people with "power over them" (if there even is anybody above them) are generally literally their OOC bff's and often literally their boyfriend or girlfriend that lives with them IRL.
So the people with power over shitty staff are biased towards them and have serious RL incentive to just ignore shitty behavior from them because calling them out on it doesn't just result in MU drama, it results in actual face-to-face, in person drama.
On top of that, you then have the shills who are just players and will loudly, rabidly froth at the mouth in defense of their Favorite Staffer Of The Moment in hopes of currying their favor and getting actual in-game benefits as a result of it.
@Sparks is literally bandying about the same old tired ass "if you don't like it leave" nonsense, as the right way to handle things, rather than to have any sort of accountability or expectation that staff should be open and honest about things and not be shitty, biased fucks.
Here are some absolutes for you.
Staff on MUs are human.
Staff on MUs are MU players.
MU players suck dick. Yes, you reading this right now, you are a terrible person and a complete shithead to just about everybody in the hobby outside of your circle of friends, because you're a selfish fuck with no self-awareness.
No, you are not this selfless saint of storytelling you want to portray yourself as. Because nobody is.
My problem, and IMO, the core toxicity destroying the hobby, isn't that MU staff can be shitty or that players are entitled (again, Staff are Players, so they feel entitled too. Oh, I'm staff now, I do so much for the game, that means I get to keep playing my PC but now she's a turbo-charged Mega NPC that is an IC Superhero of the World. But don't worry, I only do it to dispense story to other people :D). It's how dishonest, tribal, and defensive they (and everybody else in this hobby) are, and how incapable of taking a look in the mirror and holding themselves and their friends accountable they are., nevermind accepting outside criticism.
Double post, for more important matters.
WHERE IS CYBERPUNK 2077! I WANT IT!
Pillars of Eternity is great. The sequel is also awesome. Would highly recommend . It's even got 'pick an adventure/storybook' style naval battles and a ship you can upgrade and a world map you can actually sail around, with lots of random side islands/dungeons.
IMO the difficulty (in both) falls off /hard/ once you understand the system better and/or pick a better class for your character.
Idly, on the topic of CRPGs. Divinity 2 is supposed to be amazing, but I just couldn't get into it. The story starts off so weak that it honestly feels like there isn't even one and the initial 'roam around the island and find party members' is so...so, SO bad and uninteresting.
We recycle entire MUSHes.
IDC if characters get recycled, but once you're playing the exact same character, for extended periods of time, across every single MU you touch, and rarely playing anything else it's pretty damn eye-rolly.
Also, Batman is cool and popular and going to get more stuff.
I have no idea who Cole Cash is.
Stop apping f-tier nobodies.

The only other thing I'd love to see is an extremely limited alt policy (1 major sphere + 1 mortal/m+?). That would have the benefit of limiting the number of mages running around without having to impose a cap. It would encourage cross-sphere RP, encourage investment in a single character (which will help with sustainability), and will help beef up the mortal sphere.
I feel like if you want the 'intensity' of actual conflict and territory and limited resources, etc, a heavily limited alt policy is required, IMO.
I also think in a multisphere game, where CROSSOVER is part of the staff philosophy, only 1 super char per player would...honestly be a lot of fun?
IDK, maybe I'm weird.
If there are plans to start with multiple praxes, are there going to be multiple consiliums and freeholds, too?
I appreciate the vision to try and do something different, but this sounds like it's going to get pretty messy pretty quickly, lol.
Either way, good luck! The community needs more places to spring up. I'm sure lots of people are chomping at the bit for a 2e WoD game. The only place atm is...what, Reno 7.0?
Just a random note, if a spoiler is the first thing in the post, you can see the like first 10 words or something (i didn't count) of a spoiler in the 'post preview' thing when browsing the forum.

@Thenomain Yeah, all the others are the werewolves trying to bang her. Obviously.
In my experience, it's usually the other way around. Ten 5'0" or shorter wolfblooded with 'hourglass figures' and 'long legs' trying to bang the same two (very poorly played) werewolf guys with PBs from Sons of Anarchy.
Damn, wtf is 2WEI.
Just reminded me how much I fucking LOVED the Tomb Raider trailer cover of Survivor.
Gangsta's Paradise, though.
Why.
Like...really. WHY?
