RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@Aria I mean, it was a lot of people all at once. A combination of various people I talk to on a usual daily basis all going radio silent at once combined with no me fighting with my doctors to get my own meds refilled(they apparently lost which pharmacy they sent my prescriptions to) and my old man cat having surgery(he's fine, just sleeping a lot right now).
And I'm starting to think things that aren't actually a thing. The difference is I'm aware of it, instead of feeding into it taking precautions to tell myself that I'm thinking irrationally.
ETA: Sorry to hear about @insomniac7809. Hope things get better for you both.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Thinking you've said something wrong to a friend and suddenly they stop responding to you on various messengers and thinking they're mad at you.
When probably they're just busy with their own stuff, like life, work, family, and just because it says their online doesn't actually mean they're free to talk. They're just busy.
You didn't do anything, you're just thinking of reasons why they haven't responded in the last few days and clearly meaning it's your fault. Because isn't it always your fault? That's silly, it's fine.
But...
No, leave it, it's fine. You're fine. Running out of your anti-depressants because of Covid isn't your fault. You're okay. No one is mad at you.
This inner monologue has been my last couple of days. I want it to stop.

@SinCerely said in MU Things I Love:
When the people you RP with torture you on a daily basis because you enjoy it so damn much.
People need to stay out of my basement.

RE: General Video Game Thread
While knowing a game's plot has never been a deal-breaker for me, I won't deny that I enjoy being surprised by whatever plot twists there might.
Unless you're ME3. Then fuck you.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Huh. The entire story of Last of Us 2 got leaked by a disgruntled employee in a payment dispute with Naughty Dog. And now, Naughty Dog is pushing the release date which had been on 'indefinite hold' to now June 19.

RE: How to BeipMU: The best MU Client for Windows
That's kind of what I speculate, since I believe it was /newinput. I guess I just didn't know what an alternative would be. I don't mind closing out the new text box every time I log in, it's just one of those things that I'd rather deal with than not have at all.

RE: How to BeipMU: The best MU Client for Windows
I just want to say that I think this program absolutely fucking amazing. Friend of mine got me to drink the kool-aid on it and finally try it. Once I realized I can put borders around different aspects of my inventory, I was sold.
That said, there's just a couple things, that while are not at all deal-breakers for me, I wanted to point them out incase there's easy fixes that I'm not seeing.
-
The second text box that you can add duplicates itself every time you open the program. So I suddenly realized I had four spare text boxes that I had to X out of each until I had two. Is there any way to keep it as two, or is because it works as a spawn, and it literally spawns a new text box each time the program is started?
-
I really like how spawns work here. It's actually the perfect setup I've always wanted. That said, I notice that if use 80 text wrap, this effects the spawn window, and I actually had to make the spawn window larger so I could read all the text on channels, as opposed when I had text-wrap off, the spawn window text would wrap automatically depending on the size of the spawn window. Is there any way to two different settings for these, or is it more of a 'one or the other' kind of situation?
These are not criticisms at all, just me potentially being an idiot and not knowing how to fix it myself(if it can be). I think this program is perfect for what I've been looking for. Thanks for making this available

RE: General Video Game Thread
Since Last of Us 2 has been mentioned, I think it's strange that the sequel hasn't grabbed me quite like the first one did. And I don't really know why. I really enjoyed the first one.
It looks expertly made like the first one, certainly seems like it'd be just as griping and as compelling as the original, but for some reason I've been very 'meh' on it, and hardly been paying attention. And every time I do see new information about it, there's been no spark of interest.
It's been bothering me. Because for all intents and purposes, this is a game I should really like. Maybe my opinion will change once I get my hands on it.

RE: RL things I love
Entered the raffle for some Yeezy Boosts, because they tend to be pretty hard to cop and I hate paying resell price. I don't usually expect to win the raffle, but today is a good day apparently because I won out on the raffle. While I try to not give Kanye money because I think Kanye is legit crazy, I do like the shoes. Thankfully, I try to keep the amount of pairs I do buy to a very low number. Or well, low considering the amount of Nikes and Pumas that I have own.

RE: General Video Game Thread
@Ganymede I just picked that up recently, but it got put on the back burner until I finished Doom Eternal.
I had been wanting to ask if it was any good. The controls feel kind of loose, though that's said after literally only 45 minutes of playing yesterday morning before work. And combat seems odd. Not bad so far, but odd. And challenging.

RE: Critters!
I could admire cute pussies all day.
I mean kitties, of course.
Do not actually post pictures of —
— fuck.

RE: RL things I love
Been playing a new DnD campaign over Discord and Roll20. People were suspicious about the idea of playing a character that's more or less the Doom Slayer, mostly because I thought the idea was too funny not to play.
I thusly proven to the players that you can indeed play a character that doesn't speak and still get your point across with mannerisms and gestures.
I have made a personal rule though. He talks once a session, so I usually make whatever he says important and it's usually never more than a single sentence. Infact, the player who plays our Druid tends to speak for him, which gives a great dynamic between the two.
And really, nobody is complaining when he beats two wargs to death with his hands, especially when the second one was killed with pieces of the first.

RE: General Video Game Thread
The gameplay loop of Doom I guess. The game intentionally doesn't show you in ammo and health. It makes you play aggressively as possible. And I admit that very gameplay loop is very addicting. Or at least, to me it is. Glory Kills give you health, using the chainsaw drops ammunition, lighting demons on fire makes them drop armor. But all of these abilities are dependent upon you being as in your face with them as possible.
Are there callbacks to old Doom and other games like Unreal Tournament? Sure, but I think we've become so satuarated with corridor shooters that require a lot of pop and duck mechanics, that something like this is so refreshing. And the fact that it's been so refined. It just plays perfectly so far as the game engine. If I have any complaints, it's the loading times, which is, whatever.
To an extent, I feel you. Personally, I couldn't stand military shooters like COD or Battlefield. There's almost a Souls-like sense to this game. Because even on normal difficulty it is a brutal thing to play. It's frantic and driving. And it will punish you for not being fast enough. You will die. A lot.
And frankly, I love it.

Watched that before work and I think that's the best burn on Trump I've heard in a good long time.

RE: General Video Game Thread
I've been playing both Doom Eternal and Fire Emblem Three Houses and I have different thoughts.
Doom Eternal: A revolution of the FPS genre, potentially the most impactful FPS since Half-Life 2 or BioShock or COD4. I am unsure at this point how id can top this. Hugo Martin should be held in the same esteem as Corey Barloff and Amy Hennig.
Fire Emblem Three Houses: I will love Shamir forever.

RE: Post-Covid 19 world
Unless the death toll racks up into the millions, I don't think much will change in the long term. Short term, certainly. We'll have a slower economy and almost for certain another recession. There is the potential that we may not be able to go about our lives for another two months, but even after that, what does the rest of the year look like?
I don't know, but I'm certain that it'll just be one group blaming another group and nobody willing to take accountability for themselves.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Almost got into a physical altercation with someone who was in the middle of buying ten packages, if not more, of toilet paper, bragging about how much they were going to make reselling it.
The only thing I regret is not putting them through the nearby Cadbury Creme Egg display. The SO reminded me that they were not going to pay the bail money if I got arrested for assualt. Or at least, not right away. I hope.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
No kidding. My SO went Target last night to get my go to Pedialyte, which is what I exclusively drink when I'm sick. They sent me a picture of the aisle where the Lysol and cleaning products were kept. It was pretty much empty. That's nuts.
And while I live in a state that's only had one confirmed case, it does make me think about how many cases are unrecorded. How many are just mild cases that people will simply sleep off and not report. Hell, the CDC even states to not bother going to an ER unless you've got legit pneumonia symptoms.
Also, don't buy masks. They're not going to work. And you're taking them away from hospitals who actually needs. Wild that we're having a mask shortage, but people are losing their minds. Plenty of people die by the normal flu every year, but that's something most don't think about. But when we give it a new name and produce mortality numbers, people start freaking out.
Now, I'm not saying I have the coronavirus, I don't actually know since the symptoms are almost exactly the same as any other variation of flu virus, but considering the work I do, I also wouldn't be shocked if I did.
