      The Thomas Covenant series by Steven R. Donaldson is good too (and one of the many sources that Robert Jordan swiped ideas from)

      I happen to like the Thomas Covenant books a lot and read both series (and googling discovers there's a third now). However.

      You're either going to like them a lot or absolutely hate them.

      @rahnevyn So in other words, you can 'win'. Which actually explains a good deal about the game.

      @surreality Might want to look into forming a corporation and paying yourself a salary. It also limits personal liability.

      Yeah, questions seem geared more to MMRPGs or MUDs but...

      I'm enjoying it. My only complaint is it's small. Easily solved if all you people app there.

      @admiral 100% disagree. That's your bias showing.

      So you liking it so much means your bias is showing?

      @surreality I'm guessing Daddy. Someone like that, based solely on this story, is not capable of accumulating wealth on her own. Or doing much of anything on her own.

      Maybe we won. But was it really winning?

      I'd call it a Pyrrhic victory at best.

      @derp Hate to break it to you, but there hasn't been an evolutionary leap in the past 20 years.

      No but it is possible to get better at a skill and multitasking is something that you can improve at. Not going to argue about studies or whether they're correct or not, but speaking from experience, I'm a lot better at multitasking now than I was pre-internet.

      I'm also a lot better at judging when not to multi-task.

      @arkandel said in DC : Gods and Monsters MUX:

      @phase-face said in DC : Gods and Monsters MUX:

      @tnp FWIW, I saw the following on their wiki's (Character) Guidelines page, under Canon:

      ... We don't care if you make a bisexual Batman or make Deathstroke a patron of the arts, as long as the character is still recognizable by other players and, more importantly, has an excited, story-driven player behind it.

      I always wondered how that works when a character switches hands. Is the new player forced to maintain the in-game sexual orientation? Are all characters going to end up being bisexual in the long run?

      That's the main reason I really don't like swapping a canon character's gender or sexuality UNLESS game policy is that there's no forced continuity if the new player doesn't want there to be.

      I only saw the website briefly before work (and now during lunch) so didn't get to look it over to any real extent, thus missing the quote @Phase-Face made.

      @aphrodite Also curious...

      What's the policy on sexuality? Since you don't allow OCs, and DC has even less LGBT FCs than Marvel does, do you allow switching sexualities for those who prefer to play gay characters?

      This is kind of important that should have been included here:

      Original Characters
      Pure and simple, OCs are not allowed on God and Monsters.

    • RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning

      Thing is, no matter what systems go in to offer more options and hopefully, maybe help balance the scales so to speak, unless those systems are mutually exclusive it'll only mean the same people who are already at the top (of whatever ladder) using the new systems as well and thus nothing changes.
