Yeah. Conditions are designed to be handed to the player on a card. Or, if you play on Reno or Eldritch, the handy-dandy notebook +cond system. Also available in +tilt!

I've yet to encounter people who just straight up don't like Conditions. I've had people not like specific conditions - in particular the Obsessed condition - but in general when STing and playing, I've had people be rather pleased at how Conditions work. Aspirations I think require some coaching to get people to understand how they work - too many people put too much into their Aspirations for them to be meaningful contributors of Beats, and a very very small minority make their so vague and meaningless that they can't help but be fulfilled by whatever you do next scene or so which defeats the point of using Aspirations as a way to drive cool, fun, goal-oriented RP.
I do think Conditions and Aspirations are under-utilized by a vast majority of players, but I think this is a lack of education and engagement, not lack of it being a good/enjoyable system. It's a teaching problem, and we gotta work on it.
The biggest complaints I have seen about some conditions are related to the name. And how some of the conditions designed to be imparted by specific supernatural powers have fairly generic names. That and the lack of variable Breaking Point conditions.

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
If you are playing 2nd Edition World of Darkness, you should be using beats, if not as the sole XP source then at least as a significant factor. They are an important part of the system, and so much of it is built around the reward of obtaining them.

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
Well, in all honesty, we see many more people fulfilling Aspirations than Conditions on Reno. I know in my personal RP, I tend to give out and take on conditions whenever I can, but I don't know how frequently folks are resolving them.

RE: Mobile devices and MU*
I have never tablet-played, but I use MukLuk on my phone, generally from work or just to check in when not at my desktop. I have RPed that way, but it is not the easiest. I mostly chat with my co-staffers and players.

People who've been MU*ing for a large chunk of their lives don't already do this? >_>
We totally do this.
I do this. My ex and I used to do it frequently, mostly with the aforementioned True Blood. I do not, however, as a general rule, assume anything I do is "normal".

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
Just some updates: We are now 100% Werewolf: the Forsaken 2nd Edition Compliant. Also, starting next Wednesday, is DUDES OF LEGEND 2: LEGEND HARDER

TV as MUSH (aka mocking True Blood)
Based on a fun chat yesterday on Eldritch, I suggest people watch schlocky, trashy TV series as if they were a MU. You get to rewatch things and make hilarious comparisons.
(Spoilers for True Blood Follow)
Situations like:
-
Aborted Becomings! (Sorry Jason, we've decided not to implement Werepanthers)
-
Minor TS Alts that disappear (Bill's descendant he was banging and then vanished)
-
Overly Dramatic Death Scenes (Godric)
-
Forced Justification of Spends (Tara becomes an MMA fighter!)
-
Killing off unwanted PCs (Tara, again!)

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
Magically vanish, probably. But they can probably roll well enough that a generous ST would let them effectively Batman their way out of many situations.
And yes, if they sneak attack you, you are probably dead.
Also, the Honor facet for Stealth amuses me:
Werewolf Said:
The Uratha may use this Facet when he succeeds at a
Stealth roll but a packmate fails. The packmate automatically
succeeds instead of using the result of her original roll. -
RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
I think New Moon's 2nd Facet, "Slip Away', is pretty damned nice. Also it is fairly trivial for a werewolf to get 8-9 again and rote stealth, probably adding their Cunning if on a Siskur-Dah. They just don't have I AM INVISIBLE.
-
RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
I haven't read all of Demon's stuff, but if they have the ability to out-stealth Obfuscate, that is impressive as all hell.

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
In nWoD terms, template applies to your supernatural type - there is a Demon Template, a Werewolf Template, a Vampire Template, etc.
So no, humans/ghouls/wolfblooded/stigmatics etc are not, by game terms, a template.
However, I can confirm @Coin's face is.

RE: Steam Buddies?
So I pretty much exclusively play Civ 5 (and Fallout: NV) but my steam is seancreef.

A New Golden Age?
Some quick backstory - I started playing RPGs and MUSHes in 1996. I played MU fairly often for about 5 years, back in the dark (metal) ages, on dial-up in RAW Telnet. Back then I recal there being a lot of games, and the hobby was awesome.
I returned pretty much full time in 2010. First at NYC, then TR and well anyone who knows me or gives a shit knows what I have done from there.
In my experience, however, it always felt like there were slim pickings of places to play. You had HM, and then you had TR and that was about it. But this is changing, and it rules.
Focusing -just- on nWoD 2nd Edition, I can go and play Vampire the Requiem on 3 games today. In about a month there will be another. There will be multiple games with multiple combinations of spheres and themes. The community feels like it is coming together to create, rather than stagnate.
In general, this is a thread to celebrate what I hope is going to be a new era, at the very least for WoD Gamers. And I want to thank all of the people who have helped with this, but three people in particular:
@Thenomain and @Cobaltasaurus have worked their code magic on multiple games, and have worked to create an easy to use system of code that can be reused to create many games. Thank you.
@Chime is an amazing (and amazingly busy) person who provides awesome and stable hosting for these games to live on.
So thanks everyone, and remember - If I can make a game, not once, but twice, you can steal enough code and information to do it yourself!

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
The new fighting and general merits in Hurt Locker are going to make things.... interesting. They have an "Ignore up to Resolve in tilts for Composure in the ns" merit.
That said, Vampires with Resilience can still have limbs crippled and lopped off.

RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
I hate to interrupt this trip down memory lane, but:
OP has posted a playtest version of all the new merits that will be in WoD: Hurt Locker.

RE: RenoMUSH - The Biggest Little Game on the Net
Ok, some news!
At present, we are currently respecing existing Wolfblood characters to WtF 2nd Edition rules. New WB apps and WB 'becomings' should begin later this week. Uratha will likely be next week if everything goes perfectly.
On the other side of the game, we are rolling out our Redesigned Bloodline Mechanics for the Vampire sphere starting today.
