    • RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness

      Updates:

The new 2nd Edition Core Book appears to be in First Drafts. This is both good and bad.

It is good, because there will be a single book once more with all the rules, no need for a 2004 Core Book + GMC supplement.

It is bad because people will probably need to buy a new book.

    • RE: What's That Game's About?

I have found that the description of Vampire: the Requiem in the 2nd Ed book is a pretty good sales pitch for the game itself, shockingly:
Vampire is a game of visceral drama and personal horror. Vampire is about sex and murder, about power and wild defiance. It’s about urban squalor and the romance of the city. It’s about what’s wrong with you — yes, you — and how that shapes the monster you’ll become. Vampire is also about thrilling action and nail-biting paranoia. It’s about dying young and being a great-looking corpse. It’s about acting out in all of the ways we imagine we would, if only we couldn’t see ourselves in the mirror. Vampire is a game about dead people and it should make you feel alive. (Vampire the Requiem - Blood and Smoke: The Strix Chronicles page 6)

On a nWoD related note, the most recent Episode of Agent Carter (A Sin to Err) features an amazing depiction of Dominate as it is written in Vampire 2nd Edition.

The setting for Agent Carter is likely to be polarizing - late 40s spy thriller is either going to be your jam or it isn't, but the acting is solid, the writing, everything is solid. It is rarely spectacular, but it is quality.

Also, Hayley Atwell is gorgeous. Also also, Howling Fucking Commandos.

Just a head's up for those who may not be aware: The current MCU television outings are quite good. Agent Carter has yet to have a bad episode (then again, it is a miniseries) and Agents of SHIELD keeps improving and powering through material in a good way.

If people want to do a Giovanni group app, I have a concept that can easily BE a Giovanni, just let me know in the next day or so.

Also, just throwing this out there, if they do end up allowing multiple Super alts, I am looking for people to brainstorm an Invictus Dynasty, because that is a cool thing that can be done.

      ... I still hope there's another Punisher movie. 😞

Punisher was indirectly referenced on Agents of SHIELD. In that Micro/Microchip, his sometimes partner, was referenced. Also I would expect him to possibly show up or at least be more directly referenced in the Netflix series.

Throwing this out there, I am going to be playing a badass motherfucking Rahu of Doom. He will be swagger and testosterone and alpha male and good intentions and bad judgement. Anger and soul, fist of iron and a heart of gold.

I am probably going to be packing up with some staffers from Reno, but anyone else looking for wolf-tie or something, let me know as well.

The chances of Spider-Man appearing in a Whedon-directed film are close to 0%. Whedon is doing Avengers 2, and that is likely it. I believe the Russo Brothers, directors of the best Marvel film of 2014 (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) will be handling Cap 3 and Avengers 3.

    • RE: [Eldritch] Sphere Caps & Waiting Lists

First come first serve. And also maybe some wiggle room on the caps, so, say, if you have a group who wants to come in at once of 5 people, and you have 11/15 slots filled, wiggle it. Just a little bit. Come on and wiggle it.

I am thankful for having a Keurig at the office I'm working at. I can bring my own K-Cups and have my delicious Creme Brulee coffee all day long!

I too have one of those in my office, right by my desk. No creme brulee, but just having the machine is awesome.

Anyone who followed the related Sony leaks (nerds) knew he was going to be out regardless. Not only are they RE-REBOOTING Spider-Man, but he ticked off some execs.

For those of you excited for Spider-Man/Wolverine action - tough titties, Fox is holding onto X-Men with a death grip (and Fantastic Four with a hand cramp).

Also, Andrew Garfield done got fired.

This thread should.be called the Marvel Cinematic Universe aka Earth-199999. It I mean, that said this is good news. Even if he does not remain a mainstay of the MCU, his presence makes it feel even larger.
