Similarly unsure regarding the wiki. (Since most games have both, it's worth looking at what the standard mediawiki install does with the same info.)

While Mediawiki (or other wikis) may produce their own logs, the web server hosting the wiki also produces logs and many installations are by default configured to log IPs forever.

@arkandel I'm just leery about #5. I don't want anyone to know that I'm Jill.

@rahnevyn So in other words, you can 'win'. Which actually explains a good deal about the game.

I played it years ago. There is no player to player social interaction which makes it different from your hack-slash muds and social or role-playing mushes. IMHO it sucks the fun of out of both kinds of games.
I'm sure there are fans, but it's not my cup of tea.

@surreality I'm an independent contractor which worked for several years. But then the IRS started claiming we were employees of the companies we were contracting for, so I had to incorporate as many companies would only sign contracts with LLCs or S-corps.

@tyche I'm listed as/have a sole proprietorship business, and have always filed as such. I don't work for somebody else, haven't for years.

If you use Schedule C then I think you're okay. The changes are to Schedule A.

@tyche So small businesses can't have operating expenses now? That seems a bit unsmart.

No, as personal deductions. It doesn't affect me (or perhaps you) because I have an S corporation and pay job expenses (travel, books, computers, software, education etc.) through that.

      now let's stay on topic.

      Just a digression... I agree.
I confess to using quotes as emphasis quite often to the consternation of several people on this board.
It's probably a product of handwriting, working in a mainframe environment for many years, coding and playing on muds, where italicizing, bolding and underlining were not often available.

@sockmonkey Let's hope the tax cuts won't totally fuck us like that. I know I'm putting off the actual computer replacement until after tax day this year -- and verifying that if I have to replace the computer, well... at least it's the year they finally put out a non-darth-trashbucket pro? (So much sigh, so much "HOW MUCH?!" O.O O.o o.o -.-)

      Yes, those deductions are eliminated.

Even that isn't genetic, that's societal. Multitasking as a 'skill' is more based on wiring than 'practice' some people are wired for it, but not a whole 'generation'. Because I have /seen/ a billion and one millennials in my line of work who /think/ they are multitasking just fine, when they're really, really, not.

I think the societal change is that many millenials don't think it rude to have their attention elsewhere while interacting with other people, while most of the people interacting with them do.

If you play DCC, the tools here are great: https://purplesorcerer.com/tools.php
Everyone at our table still rolls their own dice though.
Except me, as GM they get paranoid when they hear dice rolling, so it's easier for me to swipe roll them silently on my phone or surface.

That reboots/rehashes + diversity casting = the vast majority of the film industry in 2017+1. Come up with some new shit, and just so you know, pandering to progressives by filling your umpteenth overproduced reboot with womyn and non-whites just doesn't qualify.

I really enjoyed 'Dunkirk' and 'Darkest Hour'. rehash?
And 'Blade Runner 2049' was close to awesome. reboot?
Curiously the audience for these movies was 90+% male, which shows they're still making movies for me. 🙂
