The running idea is that each city is separate, except on rare occasions when a global Event(TP/PRP) requires a cross over, and that's very limited.

@peasoupling Of course there would be mortals and the sub-sphere mortal+s.

@Bobotron
I may take you up on your offer. Vampire, is admittedly, my weak point. Mainly because I never really cared for the line per se. I enjoy playing in it. I just feel overwhelmed anytime I sit down and think about trying to put a sphere together.Regarding the 2 or 3 cities. The more I think on it the more I'm fond of the idea. Strictly from the sense that it provides a Multi-Sphere game, but keeps each sphere isolated, save for a few cross over RPs. It also allows staff to really just run rampant in their city without fear of stepping on another sphere's plots and such. The only down side is the potential to separate the player base. As you mentioned if you have a heavy shifter sphere but a small vamp sphere then you run into issues.
I think it will be helped by rolling each game line out over time, like Haunted Memories did, rather than just dropping in the water with all ships sailing. That being said, I think this kind of game will appeal to players who want single sphere game attention, but access to multiple options with staff, they hopefully like and trust, running the ship.
Or maybe I'm just insane and not really getting any sane thoughts at the moment.

@Jennkryst Are they releasing a 20th Ed Mummy?

RE: Classic World of Darkness
One of my instincts was to make it like two or three cities (not geographically connected) and have each sphere have their own city. That way things would progress only for the city but also offering mutlisphere.
I have a lot to think on, but I was really just putting out feelers to see what the interest level might be. I am not saying I am or am not going through the process to make a game, but it is food for thought.

RE: Classic World of Darkness
@Bobotron In order of your questions...
- A little from column A and column B. Pre-Gehenna, the main Meta Plot for TM was that something was hiding beneath San Fran and the bay, which called to the PCs. And it wasn't good. I was inspired by the Lovecraft Mythos, The Aaron Spelling TV Show and my own insanity for it. I'm currently pondering the possible elements. Rather than just a Generic by night game. I want there to be something going on MetaPlot wise.
- Probably not. I'll code in a trigger to disable the gamelines and be able to turn them on when people step up to take command.
- No. I was never a fan of Sabbat, so it would be Cam only if I end up running Vampire. Ultimately I would leave that in the hands of the individual game coordinators.
- Eh. If someone can make it not so train wrecky sure. My main lines of thought are Vampire, Werewolf (Fera), Changeling (When it comes out) and Wraith(Again when it comes out). I'd love to see some of the hunters come forward properly, to introduce them into the game, but that sphere usually never ends well.

RE: Classic World of Darkness
I was actually thinking of revamping and bringing back a game I used to run way on back in the day. Twilight Moons, though with another name. It's a game set in San Francisco. It was originally an all-sphere game, but with 20th Ed dragging its feet, it'll just be what's released at the moment.

Classic World of Darkness
I'm curious is there any interest in the 20th Ed oWoD mush?

RE: Course Corrections
@Ganymede The one where the offender is present? If it is an option, maybe that might be the best thing for her and the game.
-
RE: Course Corrections
@Ganymede So... what's the PK Stance of the game?

RE: Course Corrections
@Roz said in Course Corrections:
@Seamus Yeah, totally, which is why it would be dumb -- if this were what happened -- to argue that you should be able to have specifically Lego brand building blocks when you're playing in a theme that could easily have the toys without the brand.
Well no, that's just fucktardiness. I mean it is one thing to say. i'm playing with some legos, and a whole other to say I'm playing with actual Legos. Using the brand as a descriptive, totally ok with.
-
RE: Course Corrections
@Roz Maybe they used the term Legos to describe the toy. It's like using Kleenex to describe a tissue. It's a brand, yes, but it's also an instantly recognizable association.

RE: AWS (Amazon Web Service) as MU Hosting
@Jim-Nanban I'd love to see how you managed that. Write it up, please.
-
RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
@Tempest That I think is the problem mostly. There were no clear lines other than Earth Witches did charms and Ley Line Witches used the ley line power. Then Rachel Morgan being what she is... I think a system could be cobbled together, but it would be clumsy until it was fine tuned. And yeah. I LOVED the series.

RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?
My 0.02...
- The Hollows Series By Kim Harrison - Living Vampires, Werewolves, Pixie and Fairy wars... And an unhealthy fear of tomatoes.
- Defiance - So much potential there.
- The Witch Hunter - Not so great movie, but left the ending open to the potential to create a mush setting that is both politicking and supernatural fun.
- RWBY - This would be a fun school setting. Difficult, but fun.
Just off the top of my head.

RE: Client-Side Spacing
@faraday Maybe it is code ignorance. A looking fear of a security risk.
-
RE: Client-Side Spacing
Right, but a simple ifelse(hasattr(%!,poseon),%r,) in the hook would default it to off. I am kind of amazed hooks haven't been personalized yet so players could hook things on as a secondary to global hooks, but then again, the possible security risks are astronomical.
-
RE: Client-Side Spacing
Assuming it is on a newer server a simple @hook/after for the various commands with a %r would for posebreaks for everything wanted.

RE: How do you keep OOC lounges from becoming trash?
@Arkandel I think the major issue with that is that it is global. I know it can be turned off, but most players don't bother. So the room makes it lazily easy to escape the chatter and join the chatter when desired. A channel can be forgotten to be turned back on.
I like the idea of an OOC Lounge as I think it can be a sum zero for the game. Meaning it serves a purpose to bolster community within the players, but it can be abused. So it's a sum zero.
