@Ganymede You know what I mean, though.

I set an alarm (apparently not) so I could close my eyes for 'a few minutes.'
I didn't sleep at all last night because of my migraine. It just wouldn't let me. I just wanted a brief nap while trying to push through the work day. Just a few minutes to get caught up. Just to rest my eyes during a moment in which the blood vessels weren't so tight I wasn't seeing flares of light every few seconds.
...I slept four hours instead. Which, I needed the sleep, but fuck. I hope I don't get in too much trouble with work.
I really really really really wish I had PTO for days like this.

@Auspice A coworker of mine was really sleepy when he got on the subway and figured he'd close his eyes and take a nap there even through he was worried he might miss his stop. He woke up and saw - to his relief - he was just two stops from his destination.
Then he realized it was three hours later.

...hopefully he felt rested at least!

@Arkandel
I had something similar happen to me when I was in college. It was finals week and I stayed up all night to prepare for my last final, after the test I got on the campus shuttle to catch a ride to the parking garage where my car was. The shuttle what mostly empty and I knew i had a ten minute ride so I decided to close my eyes for a bit to refresh me for the drive from campus to home.
Next thing I knew it was five hours later and the driver was waking me up because it was time for him to get off shift and I had to leave the shuttle. Sadly this was in the days before cell phones so after an hour drive I got to deal with panicked parents since I had told them I was heading home for the break right after my final. -
Today is one of those 'I hate the universe so much I'm eyeballing the bottle of Vodka and considering drinking it straight' days.

If your migraines are getting that severe tell your doctor and talk about getting on FMLA. It won't get you 'paid' time off, but you can get the time without getting in trouble or fired.

People who schedule 1.5 hour meetings to get your help on something, and then show up late and unprepared.

Special hell reserved for the people who do this on Fridays. In the morning. GTFO.
Can there be an additional special hell reserved for people who do this on Fridays, in the afternoon, starting at 4:30pm. And don't actually choose to schedule this until 1pm. (This has happened to me more than once in the past three months.)

This happens to me all the time because I guess I'm seen as someone who can get shit done, and done right. Sometimes it sucks being a senior type person, when all you want to do is sit back and MU* on a Friday. AMIRITE? Work can GTFO.

I'm literally hiding at my desk, honestly like...ducked down. My boss leaves for his home in Florida ANY MINUTE NOW. And as long as I avoid notice, I'm so gone.

@EmmahSue cheats.
Even when she wins honestly, it's because you didn't catch her at it.

Dude. Your inability to tetris the fuck out of a 9x9 quilting board is not my fault. :<

Ugggggh...
Kids. Gosh, I hates them sometimes.
My friend's child got her cellphone stolen. That is bad enough. However, they started texting her contacts and telling her friends that she didn't want to be friends with them. They have sent the screen shots to her mother. When one friend didn't buy it the unknown person said:
I'm her worst nightmare
I go to her school and I will make her life miserable when she doesn't expect it.This was shown to the principal. This person shrugged and said that until the girl is physically harmed, he can't do anything. Nevermind that the 'anti-bullying' laws in their state say differently. I pointed my friend to the laws and told her to make sure she put in writing what she submitted and what they declared an acceptable outcome. However, geez.
While I'm all about you know having thick skin and growing a set. There is a level where this is just frustrating and wrong. Like the poor kid now has to look over their shoulder and the person has all their information. The principal also said: Well she shouldn't have had her phone out of her locker. --- Holy victim blaming.
Anyways.. I'm just ranty. Sorry.

@Catsmeow See, what I get out of that story is that adults are shit, not children.
The shit child who stole the phone was brought up badly by an adult. That adult probably protected said child from the consequences of bad actions for years. (I see this shit all the time where children here get in trouble, but a quick gift of portraits of Mao in red smooths over all consequences.)
The principal is an adult. He's an ignorant cunt who (incorrectly!) uses the "it's not illegal" argument as an excuse for inactivity because actually doing his fucking job is too much work. I mean just the fact that someone committed a crime (theft is, last I heard, an actual crime!) on his watch should have him hunting for the perp, bringing in cops, etc. never mind the added bullying!
