To me.. That just sounds like an average mu*er/gamer when stats are invoolved. It pretty clearly indicated his preferred type of play.

@golgoth Computer dumb: Depends on what it is. Linux and programming: Completely for Linux, mostly for programming.

RE: Arx on github
@tehom I'll have to see if my host can instal it. I'm pretty dumb at it so, I probably couldn't.

RE: Horror MUX - Discussion
I am kinda interested in trying this out. Is there a particular available Archetype that people would really like to see? If I pick based on my whim I'll just end up randomly not doing much.

RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
To me it seems more game development over an ad. Since she is asking for help on the new game/

RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
@tinuviel Truth in that. A bunch of friends and I made a krewe and a good percent of them lost interest because of the reset.

RE: License to Kill
My question is more inclined to wonder if it is PvP heavy or more about taking out NPC sorts rather than PCs.

RE: Marsilikos Mu*
@packrat I dunno either! But I got 2 people considering joining with me to try it out. Feel free to as well!

RE: Marsilikos Mu*
@lithium I've never really read the books either. Everything I know is from online/previous game I tried in the area. Come join. I've 2 others who also know next to nothing! We can all fumble together.

Marsilikos Mu*
I am debating trying out Marsilikos. I have made no decisions on whether I'll join or not. Or what I'll play if I do. so, I thought I would give a post and see if anyone would like to join and/or are on the game and has something specific they would like played (I do better at playing off what someone else would like to see/have around). Let me know if this is something you'd consider and we can work together to figure out something!

RE: Hello MSBites! Grade your administrators.
Perhaps an alternative.. Advertising an open game? Make a post in constructive criticism as well? For the idle chatter, enjoyment, /polite/ explaining of displeasure, etc. Then the first post on each one can have a link to the other.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I would love it if +task/work was automatic. Only on unclaimed tasks. Or a way to increase what is done on a claimed task similar to +task/work.

I am a bit relieved to be done with him in some sense. There is a large gap in immaturity where players associate characters with their players. I had seen a lot of it and understand this is a natural tendency for any medium like this. I took Tovell (the pious and dutiful knight) off the roster to sort of just compare experiences. I kept my use of him pretty much unknown and the difference in how I was treated as a player was amazing. Some of the same people that were crap OOCly to me with one alt were friendly, welcoming, and utterly different on the unstated alt. I enjoyed the OOC experience of playing a good-guy far far more.
In fairness to that, there's a marked difference between outright hostility ooc and just people being guarded, though. If someone is an antagonist, a lot of people just aren't comfortable being extremely communicative ooc because they feel they could be considered disingenuous if they then need to work contrary to you, or want to avoid ooc pressure over IC decisions. Anyone can be really friendly and chill when they know there is absolutely nothing at stake for doing so, and I tend to pay closer attention to the people that are that way when they know their own characters are at risk.
I keep trying to throw my characters under the bus but I either miss the GM stuff or people just accept their bad behaviors. Maybe I need to be mean OOC to make things happen. Mind, I'm also a 'if you want to RP! I won't make you!' person.

RE: Make it fun for Me!
@arkandel You missed another big enemy.
- Treating a player like they are their characters.
I've had, at least, 3 people in about as many days say that people treat them, the player, like their character. If the character is overly affectionate, they are treated as they are to. Or if they are a crappy character people assume the player is like them too. I've had people do it to /me/ too. As me why /I/ am being so mean to them. Not my character. Me. When it was my character.

RE: Buttercup's Playlist
@buttercup I tried being friendly with you OOC! We didn't get to RP much but I always thought Abbas was great.
