@Bobotron, what browser are you using?

RE: Tracking Alts
This is a misconception, though. For example, in nWoD 1e, raising a Skill or Attribute got you diminishing returns, because each dot cost more than the one before. So having lots of mid-level stats (and thus becoming a true Jack-of-all-Trades, Master-of-None) was a lot cheaper and easier than being the master of a bunch of them.
No, in nWoD 2e, it costs you the same.
I'm not saying one is better than the other, but the latter certainly doesn't favor the jack-of-all-trades type more.

Logs, Templates, and DPL [HAAALP]
Hey, guys.
Over on the Eldritch wiki we're having a bit of a difficulty in figuring out how to get our logs working right. Right now, everything is working except:
- GAMEDATE: we can't figure out how to make the gamedate show up on the log lists in the log lists in character pages. It's preferable that they show up chronologically with a secondary consideration being the order they were posted. So if I post three logs, all dated on Jan 12th 1994, they would show up on the list in the order I posted them, and all on Jan 12th 1994. But really, at the moment, we want the GAMEDATE instance to show up at all. I would really like to get this working ASAP, as well as point 2:
- CATEGORIES: We're having some trouble making any category that isn't the automatic "RP Logs" show up on the log itself when added in the categories section of the template.
If anyone has experience with this and is willing to help, let me know and I will put you in contact with our wiki person (or handle it myself, if I can). Or put your advice here, if it's simple enough that you think we can integrate it or if the problem is commonplace and easily solved.
We would appreciate it immensely.
Thanks!

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
The rule on Eldritch is basically that if within a week you haven't been able to fulfill an Aspiration, you can drop it and replace it, if you want.

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
I think anything that fosters activity is better than anything that doesn't. I don't mean to say passive XP doesn't have a place in a large, presistant setting like a MU, or we wouldn't have it at Eldritch, but the more XP you're actually getting based on actions and RP, the better, IMO.
I dislike voting because it's just a bad way to make people actually RP and a great way to make people have large scenes where nothing happens. And the way SHH does it, with votes being a monthly-allotted thing, is just straight up bad bean counting. If it were weekly, for example, it would make more sense, since you wouldn't have run out of votes two weeks into the month and have to spend two weeks without any votes to give.
Then again, I am currently still super-duper vexed with the XP and XP spending policies on SHH, since no matter what I do, I won't be able to advance my character the way I want even though I have the XP already. But I've already discussed it with them, and they know my views on it.

RE: nWoD 2.0 inter-sphere balance and mechanics
It's too soon to tell on Eldritch, to be fair. I hope people take an interest and allow Beats and Conditions to help drive their RP instead of seeing them as a hassle.

RE: Tracking Alts
Eldritch will be implementing some sort of registration, though it's less for alt-control (though it will double as that) than it is for XP control, since we have Player XP (i.e. XP that you can use on any of your alts, because you acquired it running stories and doing such things that are not character specific).

You could also possibly forward any backups automatically to a dropbox. That way you don't have to manually go in for someone.
This is essentially what we are doing for Eldritch, IIRC (@Thenomain can correct me) except we're using Google Drive for it.

Those of you who have had the chance to comb this book front to back a few times already, would it be possible to get a cliff notes version of the major changes? The brief skims I've done make it seem like things got very, very revamped.
Too much to really list properly, but it includes Gifts, Rites, shapeshifting, Harmony...
(Blood Talons are the secret werewolf police? Did I see that correctly?)
No. Their Sacred Prey is other werewolves, but it has little to do with "policing" them and it's 0% a secret.
Also, is this bookshelf of orangish-brown books I have 100% shelf decorations in light of the 2nd Ed?
Depends on if you're gonna use them or not. I still have a bookshelf's worth of Exalted 1e.

RE: TV as MUSH (aka mocking True Blood)
Double post because:
One thing we'll never get on a MU that we get all the time on television is the will-they-or-won't-they Uresolve Sexual Tension...
... because on a MU, they always do.
That said, all those secondary characters that pair up with main characters whose TRUE LOVE picked someone else are really just alts of the True Love, so they can TS.

RE: Mobile devices and MU*
I can't MU from my phone. I've logged on a few times, like this one time I was drunk on New Year's waiting for the bus and I basically logged on just to bitch about the bus not coming around... but other than that, no.

Yeah, but in Monsterhearts, life is rough and painful in a way that Buffy occasionally touched upon, but things were pretty much status quo at the end of each episode, as is the nature of TV shows.
One of the MH Playbooks is a Slayer, tho, so.
I kind of diagree. Buffy was actually one of the first shows in which, eventually, "status quo" cease to be a thing. Things changed in Buffy all the time and they stayed changed. Jenny died, and that colored everything Giles did after, how they viewed Angel, his arc returning to being The Ripper however briefly. Hell, even the status quo of Buffy returning to life was always undermined by it having some sort of pathos to it that other shows often ignored.
And anyway, Monsterhearts is a game, and these are television shows. You're never going to find a comparison, consistency-wise. Monsterhearts is still the quintessential CW supernatural beautiful teenagers doing horrible things to each other and everyone else.

I don't think you can play Monsterhearts as if it was Supernatural or Charmed. It's more about how much being a teenager absolutely sucks.
I would still be there, mind.
She said The Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf, which are essentially metaphors on the teenage condition, much in the same way as Buffy was.

RE: TV as MUSH (aka mocking True Blood)
I told you this before, @surreality, but if that's what you want, make a Monsterhearts MU. XD

RE: Eldritch - A World of Darkness MUX
It's not a strawman. It's a logical progression of the topic.

I think if you've got someone staffing who doesn't stop doing something when you ask them to and continues on because their fun trumps other people's fun, you remove that person from staff.
I'm not surprised you think only staffers can continue being assholes who don't listen when they're told something they're doing isn't cool or conducive to a collaborative, friendly experience.
But you're wrong. Just FYI.
And before you say 'I didn't say that', I'll elucidate for you: that's how it reads to me.

If it's not worth making a rule against, it's not worth discouraging, in my opinion.
...it's been a while since I read anything just really, really stupid, so I've been waiting for the dam to burst. Thanks for leaping on the grenade, RDC, you're a real mensch.
Some people just really think about other people's needs, you know?
