@Auspice If it makes you feel better I don't recall you ever telling me anything about your sex life or anyone else ever telling me any such information either.

RE: Echoes in the Mists - CoD 2e MU
@Derp Absolutely. I'm not criticizing it. It's your game and your staff and you choose who plays there and who doesn't.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Ratropolis on Steam is fun little game that plays like a 2d side-scrolling real-time deck builder.
It's in Early Access but I'm enjoying it thus far.

RE: Good TV
@Wretched They do a lot of fuckery with perspective and narrative that I really appreciated.
The ending to the season was ridiculous and fun as well, setting up a strong season 2 if the show gets one. (It probably will unless the budget is too obscene.)

RE: Good TV
I forced myself to watch Daybreak on Netflix. I am not the show's target audience but I found the show very refreshing and the acting quite good. The first few episodes started off a bit rocky for me but they were humorous enough to keep me entertained.

@surreality You didn't come up in my reasoning at all. This reboot's staff has been problematic. Not for you. For friends of mine.
That said, I won't be spreading negativity in this thread. I just wanted to offer a dash of a compliment with my little backhanded comment.

Portland seems like a happening place. Shame about those staffing problems.

I put off trying Castle Rock for ages... but it surprised me. It didn't pull a full Stephen King and fuck the pig in the last episode like his books do.

The new Steam UI hurts my eyes. Jesus. Is there any way to roll back this update? I can't look at it without getting a headache...

RE: NOLA: The Game That Care Forgot
There's a few options you can do:
Changelings weren't there... and then they were. Some sort of massive contract had them in an alternate reality where the other supernaturals didn't exist. Poof. Sudden characters who know New Orleans well, but not the other supers. Possible threads: How do they react to finding out other supernaturals exist? How do they react to the accords?
Changelings get thrown forward in time. Every Changeling was wiped out twenty years ago... except they weren't. They were locked in time and suddenly re-appear. Possible threads: What caused the time skip? How do they handle coming back into a world that has changed so drastically?
Changelings were kept out of New Orleans due to some kind of big magic contract that was enacted 100 years ago. Somehow it failed and they've started to trickle in. Possible threads: What happened 100 years ago? What caused it to fail? Was it good, or bad?
There were no Changelings... and then suddenly there were. All Changelings are new characters. Possible threads: What changed to allow them now? Why have no other Changelings come from other cities?
I dunno. That's off the top of my head.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Not sure if you addressed this yet... but how do you plan to address the role of women in the era? They were not allowed to vote or hold political office, for instance. Will that be alt-historied? Will vampire society be different from human society? And if so, why and how?

Or, conversely, he did what he thought was right and then backed down because nobody backed him up on it.

@Warma-Sheen His lack of dialogue on the content of the message was itself a comment on the content of the message.
Inaction is a form of action.

RE: Good MU with sense of progression
@Sarah If you like Cyberpunk, there is always Cybersphere. (The game Sindome branched off of.) There's OOC channels and OOC communication is not discouraged, only meta-gaming. (Plus the code is better than Sindome, but I hear the RP is slightly worse.)

RE: Dark Ages Vampire -- Terra Mariana
I would enjoy this game but I am a giant history nerd and I think a historical game like this that isn't 100% ACCURATE TO MY EXACT AND NO DOUBT WRONG STANDARDS would trigger me.

RE: NOLA: The Game That Care Forgot
I'm working on a character. Slowly. God knows if I'll finish it.

RE: General Video Game Thread
The most annoying part of this is people on the side of China trying to 'educate' me about how things work in China. About how I 'do not understand Chinese culture'.
Motherfuckers, I am a giant nerd for Chinese culture. I study Chinese history as a freaking hobby, because I am that interested in it. -I used to live in China-. I am as intimately knowledgeable as you can be with something while being an outsider.
The oppression of Hong Kong has absolutely nothing to do with 'culture' and 'tradition'. It has to do with the CCP and its endless pursuit of state capitalism. The enemy of Chinese culture and tradition is the goddamn Chinese government and I feel like I'm screaming into the wind every time someone tells me 'I just don't understand China'.
Sorry for the rant.

RE: Good TV
I really enjoyed... most seasons. Coven and Hotel really stuck out for me as my favorites. Roanoke was somewhat weak (until the twist, which redeemed it) and Cult just felt like the writers were sitting in a dark room, masturbating over politics.
Freak Show was a bit of an odd duck to me, but it still really struck some of the right chords for me with the references to discrimination and the ugliness of America during that time period.
Asylum I really liked, and it really made me cringe. A close family member of mine was sent to an asyium in the 60s and given shock treatments to fix her 'mental illness' because she ran away from home after an uncle molested her in her teens... so it dredged up a lot of dark feelings for me.
Murder House I didn't really get to watch until -after- some of the other seasons, so I didn't appreciate it as much. Well, until Apocalypse rolled around and made Murder House pretty great.

RE: Good TV
Anyone who liked AHS: Cult has bad taste in television. It was the low point of the series.
