Of course Beast is gone. I had a rather swell Beast there too. I'm tempted to give it a go though.

RE: Staff scrutiny during CGen
I believe that staff's role in CG is what I said. To ensure that the player creates a workable concept, and the player creates a concept that won't damage the fun of others.
If you make a hyper-aggressive shit weasel PK concept, you're going to ruin others' fun.
If staff lets you have SUPER MEGA FUCKLE TOY OMEGA and nobody else gets it? You're likely going to ruin other's fun.
Staff's role should be a sanity check. Staff's role should be to ask 'Does this character's power level and focus match the game?'.

RE: Staff scrutiny during CGen
@Lotherio That is incorrect. Staff's role is to ensure that not only does the player have a good time, but also to ensure that the player having their good time doesn't infringe on the good times of other players.

RE: RL Anger
Hey, asshole. Just because you are CEO of a 47 million dollar company doesn't give you the right to try to treat me like a servant. Threatening to have me fired because I don't break the rules for you? That is trashy.

RE: Any Fate free WOD games left?
@Carex City of Shadows is opening soon, if I recall. It's nWoD 2e (Chronicles of Darkness) though. I forget the wiki information (I am not on my home PC at the moment) but I'm sure someone knows it.

RE: Has anyone ever set up a server just for a small group of friends?
A long while back I wanted to set up a 'hub' MUSH that was exclusively for tabletop-style small groups. Separate groups of characters not designed to interact with each other but with +sheet and +roll functionality for ease of use. Each group would have access to private 'grids' exclusively for their use with a shared OOC hub that they could opt in or out of along with @channels.
Alas, the closest I ever got was almost getting an OTT group going on TR before the players splintered.

RE: Cyberrun
@insomniac7809 As a word of advice... saying someone is 'making a whole thing' about pedophilia is kind of... yeah.
Pedophilia is 'a whole thing'. No making needed.

RE: Cyberrun
It could be said that playing a game where you murder people doesn't lead to murder, so playing a game where you sleep with children should be the same.
However, to that I say...
Fuck off. I don't care about logic or reason or cause and effect. I do not accept pedophilia in any context.

RE: General Video Game Thread
Anyone want a free month of Humble Monthly? I have a link they emailed me. It automatically enrolls you for month-to-month Humble Monthly when you activate it, but I think you can cancel if you don't want to pay for anything.
Edit: It's just the one trial, by the way. Singular. Ack.

RE: Cyberrun
I thought about giving the game a try, but at this point I do not have the energy to learn a new game or desire to play something statless.
Heck I don't even play on Cybersphere or Sindome right now. I'd kill for a decent cyberpunk game.

RE: Good TV
So uh. Season 9 of Shameless just hit Netflix. I love the show but... one complaint.
Did the show have to ride AA's dick so hard? Seriously? AA does some good for some people but as a program it is highly flawed and more than a little controversial. The show basically puts the organization on a pedestal as the 'cure to addiction'. Ugh.

RE: Should Rinel become smol birb?
@Ghost It's how I got the name smol (smol birb) birb.

RE: Space Sim w/Economy
It's a shame nobody wants a Rogue Trader game. Because I want a Rogue Trader game.

RE: General Video Game Thread
So, uh. Greedfall. It's okay so far. I've read the reviews and there are some valid complaints but for such a small studio the game is fantastic.
If you really want it? Buy it. Otherwise wait for it to go on sale. It's definitely worth a play.

RE: Getting Young Blood Into MU*'ing
@Apos No... Arx exists solely because Firan does not.

RE: MU*, Youth, and LGBT+ Identity
@Joyeuse If anything the LGBT community is strongly, strongly catered to in MUs as opposed to real life. The vast, vast majority of us who MU are various degrees of liberal (and quite a few of us are LGBT using MUs as a way to express ourselves) and I have noticed that in games transgendered characters don't really have any of the struggles they do in real life.
They never get deadnamed. They are very rarely mis-pronouned. There aren't roving packs of NPCs sniggering and talking about them behind their backs if they don't 'pass' enough.
If anything the only negative I've seen with transgender characters is backlash against people who play fetishized versions of them; which in itself is silly considering how fetishized everything else is.

RE: Getting Young Blood Into MU*'ing
If everyone keeps looking forward to 'the new code thingy on the horizon' and waiting for it to make things better for MU*s... well. This community has been talking about 'the new code hotness' for as long as I've been a part of it. And the new code toys never solve the problems.

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@tek I've wanted to do a carnival nWoD Changeling game for a while. Not the same thing but...

RE: Getting Young Blood Into MU*'ing
Here's how you get young blood into MU*ing:
Marketing and browser-access. That's all it takes. For some sweet cherry flavoring on top throw in some phone-app functionality for connectivity on the go (without actual RP) and you're absolutely golden.

RE: What do you call fizzy, non-alcoholic drinks?
LaCroix is carbonated water that once met a guy who knew someone who claims to have come across flavor at one time but the accounts are unconfirmed.
