    • RE: Coming soon: Lawless Space MUSH

@golgoth I agree. Maybe I'll return to it in the future--but for now, it's dead.

For sure. I definitely don't mind working on something not (m)any people will play. But I also don't feel an obligation to it if I'm not sure I'll have fun with the game myself, either. (Hence my statement that it may be better suited with a TT group than as a MU*.)

@magee101 Pretty much, yeah. Sorry. Fate just doesn't seem to be of much interest to folks, and the sandbox setup that I was going for seemed to work against, rather than in support of, player RP ideas.

    • RE: Action/Super-Spy Style MU

A decade ago I briefly ran a GI Joe game that used the WEG system (mostly because there was an existing coded system I could hook in). Coded combat with a ton of Joe/Cobra weapons, vehicles, and lots of FCs already coded up and ready to go. IIRC, I had it set up so FCs wouldn't continue to rack up XP like OCs would, but instead they gained another resource--also available to OCs--for dice roll modifications, kind of like Fate points or the like.

The game was goofy and hilarious and absolutely over the top. I have the old DB up and running, but I would need to probably update a few things to make it work for realsies.

    • RE: FFG Star Wars?

I concur with the statements others have made that there are already places/spaces for the other systems. I'm mostly interested in giving it a go with the FFG system.

Necro'ing this because I feel the identical sentiment described in the original post--The Last Jedi (no spoilers here, I promise) has given me so many ideas for what might be done in a SW MU* that I can't shake my mind from it.

Any chance of something happening since this thread was last around last year? (I'm guessing "no" but hope springs eternal.)

    • RE: Do you buy your RPG books?

Whenever possible, yes. This tends to mean buying PDFs more than books, though.

If I'm really not sure on a system and whether it's worth examining, and I can't find a decent review of it, I will occasionally pirate a game so that I can check out the rules. If I like it, I try to track it down--even if it's just in a (hopefully discounted) PDF version. If I don't like it, I delete it--no reason to keep something around that I'll never look at or use.

    • RE: Personal Epiphany

This was kind of what I had in mind for Flashpoint Gotham (I apped Harvey Bullock). I figure there's a lot to work with/build on from Gotham Central also.

    • RE: Stranger Than Fiction MUX

@surreality I think I was your only RP partner there, then. And that scene was the closest I got to anything supernatural/spooky/etc.

    • RE: Fate Community Mu*

@thebigd There are some Windows binaries for PennMUSH (which this Fate.exe code suite runs on) here: http://download.pennmush.org/Win32Binaries/

(That is, "Fate.exe" is not actually a Windows binary file itself.)

    • RE: Stranger Than Fiction MUX

@tnp That's been my experience as well--the motivation is steadily dwindling because, even though I've tried to get in scenes with as many PCs as I could, I'm apparently not doing it enough or with the right PCs, so I've encountered (with one really interesting "scared of the dark" exception) literally zero of the theme that actually interests me about the game.

I also just found the site for Maelstrom Earth, but other than seeing it's up, I know nothing of the game. http://maelstrom-earth.wikidot.com/

    • RE: Coming soon: Lawless Space MUSH

@rnmissionrun I had one (kind of--it required some reworking), but there's a lot of MU*er resistance to Fate as a system. I have the feeling I'll just use this wacky game idea for Fate or Adventures on Dungeon Planet with my local gaming group.

    • RE: Coming soon: Lawless Space MUSH

I still really love the basic premise for this game, but I wasn't getting anything done with it and it seemed incredibly unlikely to ever get off the ground. So, I decided to go ahead and shut things down rather than have the project in a permanent limbo state.

@theonceler Blades in the Dark would be great, but I also cringe at the thought of bookkeeping a number of different crews' potentially conflicting activities.

@misadventure If I could hire a Ken Burns soundalike for occasional memorial documentary clips, I would.
