@surreality said in Mass Effect MU*?:

      Paging @Ganymede (hopefully)...

I've got the system pulled together that I want to use. It's calculated to provide two kinds of experiences: (1) a dramatic system for non-mission scenarios; and (2) a tactical combat system for missions. I'm typing out "special powers" or "talents" that can be picked up by PCs right now, but it's slow-going due to work, working out, kids, and that I've picked up No Man's Sky recently.

I'm more than happy to work with a small team on getting theme/setting nailed down for the game.

      Oh, ha ha.

We played a troupe of mostly Mantis Clan that went about trying to sell their brand of sake.

Now we have thrown together a troupe of sumai and other jiujutsu wrestlers, who tour Rokugan and end up solving modules between putting on house shows. My PC is the color commentator, Ikoma Heimon.

I meant the people, what do the /people/ eat.

      Animals.

Not all the animals are robots.

      It's in the story.

      And the robots eat animals.

You're the one who brought up scale! I have no illusions that say, Asimov was perfect, but it's one thing to think he might have cheated on his taxes (or whatever) than that he kept a collection of human faces in his basement.

Yes. I did bring up scale. This is because all flesh is weak, but different kinds of flesh have different uses and flavors.

      1. I'm not sure that I do, that's why I asked if anyone had any experience with something like this. It seems like a lot of work, but...

I appreciate the thought. It sounds like you want a system that would limit the ability of well-developed PCs to increase traits at the same pace as not-well-developed PCs.

There have been games that have addressed this issue in nWoD 2E. MU*s that reduce auto-gain for Beats based on total XP spent have done so, and I believe this to be an adequate throttle on advancement.

As a sidenote, I'm really looking forward to playing on Flashpoint: Gotham as Victor Fries.

He is, by far, my favorite character from B:TAS.

      Can't. Hardly. Wait.

I'm looking for a Star Wars MU* that has actual RP with some activity (Or even a sci-fi MU*). The places I've checked are either dead or lack RP. It's a sad world.

Star Wars: Dawn of Defiance is still going. It has activity. Code-wise, it's excellent. It uses the SAGA Edition.

Information can be found at http://swdod.com.

Into the Breach is worth the money, if you're into the random annoyance that is Faster Than Light.

I got bored of Kingdom Come: Deliverance within 2 hours. It's fucking painful after playing The Witcher III.

Coding almost any dice system in a MU is stupidly easy (7th Sea 2nd edition dice being an insane exception).

If so, then why hasn't someone coded up Earthdawn's step-system? Chop, chop.

(FFG's dice are ... complex. Sorry, they are.)

I am so looking for BattleTech, can't wait, I kickstarted it at the 50$ level, haven't even read the new novelettes by Stackpole but just want to /play/ the campaign.

I may even try to get a new computer for B-Tech.

      Ah, Stackpole. So much nostalgia.

The first thing I asked my doc was how much weight did I have to lose to not have to use it and he laughed at me. No matter how thin I get, it doesn't matter.

      Fuck your doctor. Not literally.

I don't know how much weight you feel you may need to lose, but I lost 10 pounds not too long ago, and it helped my snoring. Only 10 pounds made a substantial difference. So, losing some weight probably couldn't hurt, if you feel you need to lose some.

Obviously I didn't spend a lot of time polishing it up. You'd have to add special handling for step 1/2 (because they work weird) and for karma and some error checking, but it's got the basic mechanics down.

      Thank you.

Now, a chargen, please. Chop chop.

      (Hey, whatever works, right?)

I've been playing Far Cry 5 off and on, so I'm going to embrace Fallout 76 when it comes out.

Hopefully, before I get The Last of Us 2, because I'll be gone after that.

TL;DR: My downstairs neighbor complains about every single little noise and I am sick of it.

How are they complaining? Are they sending letters? Are they coming up to your apartment?

If the former, ignore them. If the latter, tell them to fuck off.

I don't sympathize with them. People who think complaining to others directly will solve their problems are missing the obvious problem, which is themselves.
