I personally dislike pregenerated characters, because they're not /mine/. I don't mind templates so much though because it's not like, a fully created character like you'll find with rosters.

RE: Make us love your favorite game
Yeah it is hyper lethal, but that is one of the things I really like about it.
If Thor punches a human, that human /should/ be chunky salsa or a fine red mist.
Also yes, not using an established comic book universe. Coming up with my own world, so, it will probably be a niche game but it'll be mine damnit.
I am inspired more by judge dread than anything else. Humongous city, so many people that even thousands of supers can't keep up with all the crime, so there is bright sections, dark sections, sections off the grid completely... a strong enough super could realistically take over a whole chunk of land and... the authorities might not have the time to do anything about it so long as things don't get out of control.
It opens up a lot of possibilities and stories for RP.

I don't mind that people enjoy FC's, I just prefer a game without them because then /everyone/ is the FC. Everyone is the star. And to many times have I seen OC's overshadowed (often brutally) by 'FC's'. Which is why original world for my game.

Now that I've got time again, I need to settle on a system and get back to coding instead of coding one system, then another, then another... and never finishing any of them.
As a note: Wild Talents was one of the systems that interested me, but, it seemed a system where it was easy to screw yourself if you didn't know the difference between regular, wiggle, and hard dice.
If you don't do Shadowrun 5E, don't bother!
Heh I don't know if I am going to pick up my SR5e idea or not, I got a lot of negative feedback to the idea of rolling the time backwards to 2050 which is honestly what interests me the most. I love the system of sr5e and I think it is more elegant than previous editions and still give room for improvement. But. (There's always a but) I /hate/ the current storyline Catalyst is doing. Hate it. So so bad.
So I am at an impasse.

RE: Make us love your favorite game
I couldn't get past Aeon Trinity because you had all this power, but then you couldn't fucking /use/ it because the resource to actually use psychic powers was so bloody limited you could do like 3 things and then you were done, and you're more relying on your armor and weaponry than what made you god damned special! Sorta like first edition Mummy... which is not surprising cuz they were written by the same guy iirc.
Aberrant was way better in that regard to me. Aberrant is an interesting dichotomy between power and corruption as one leads directly to the other, no way around it.
Removing 'Taint' as a game mechanic is an option though and one I am considering for my superhero game, changing taint to something more like regular flaws.

RE: Make us love your favorite game
That battletech mux game is still active, but, it uses real time coded combat which to me is against the essence of traditional battletech, and made code more annoying than it needed to be. Battletech is a turn based game, so keep it as a turn based game. If I could code an in game combat code I would make one in a second but... terrain. It'd be annoying to set up and I am not able to do it successfully yet.

Earthdawn.
MechWarrior.
These are the things I grew up on, and it shows.
Otherwise, I dig the GMC. All of it. Very much.
These are two systems that are hard to translate to a mush I have found. I've wanted to try and make a Mechwarrior/Battletech MUX that incorporated megamek but the only way I could think of doing it was for every 'unit' and 'house' to have an individual staffer like ChampionsMUSH used to do back in the day with every super team and every PC needing sponsorship from a GM.
Earthdawn would be easier to do, built it around Parlainth

I have been pretty addicted to AWOLNATION's station on iheartradio these days.

RE: Make us love your favorite game
My favorite systems do not translate well to this environment. I love the element of chance in a game, so random creation is awesome for me, in tabletop it doesn't matter if someone rolls like a god and someone else rolls more average because everyone is participating and creating fun together.
Online it's a whole different ballgame, if things aren't as 'balanced' as they can be then people will whine, bitch, and moan. So we go with systems where everyone starts out with the same points. It's still not equal because one person's build might be better optimized than anothers, but at least the potential for equality is there. Everyone had the same points to work with at creation.
I still am tempted to use the old FASERIP marvel system for a game though, with random creation and everything and just say Fuck Balance but everytime I try I see the damage an Alien, Deity, Angel/Demon could do if the dice decided to love them with 14 powers and the like while another pc might roll up a normal human with two powers, and roll that they can glow and smell the past.

RE: Good TV
It probably could, set it in Port Royal or Tortuga or even a place like New Orleans (Which was very pirate friendly once upon a time). You could even make up a fictional city on an island also...
Could have a lot of stuff going on in the city, and adventures could be out trying to plunder and whatnot.

RE: Chat blocking
So the workaround is that only people I 'follow' can now chat with me, I apologize to the conversations this possibly kills until another solution is found.
Peace.

RE: Multiple Games on the Same MUSH?
It wouldn't be that difficult to have multiple games on the same port, you could even use different code for each you'd just have to differentiate the commands so as to make sense.
I remember there was a GI Joe and Super Heroes mixed game, and Tarterus had like 3 games on it I think...
I just wish I could actively use more ports though, then I would build all four of the ideas running around in my head, and open them all at the same time.

Chat blocking
Is it possible to at least be able to block someone from chatting with you? I don't need @Cirno spamming my chat box with him cursing me and typing that he's grabbing his cock. That'd be awesome because I'd really just rather not read it at all.
Thanks.

RE: Good TV
Crap I forgot about that one, I've only seen season 1, will have to get caught up. I love me some pirates, but, it's a bit tricky to do on a mush setting.... at least without it turning into a TS mu*. The core of pirates is pillaging and raping, in whatever order.

RE: CofD/WoD Mu Installer?
All of this idly makes me wonder if I could do a kickstarter to try and fund my game. Would be nice to get paid to code and write stuff I enjoy writing rather than having to do it a few hours a day when I am not at work/job hunting.

RE: Good TV
The thing about The Magicians is the same thing people bitched about with other conversions from book to television, that it was to far from the source material.
Back when The Dresden Files came out on SciFi Channel (Before it became SyFy for whatever insipid reason) I thought it was campy, and had low production value, but I found it to still be moderately interesting and entertaining. I /liked/ the idea of a wizard using a hockeystick for his wizard staff etc.
I hadn't read the books then so I didn't know how absolutely wrong they did that series.
Magicians is a lot like that to many people. If you haven't read the books? Series is awesome. If you have and can't differentiate between them? Probably hate it.

RE: Are there any historically-themed WoD mu*?
Now I want to play a game where the West wasn't 'Won' and the natives did a 'Ghost Dance' that literally woke the dead... Wild West Supernatural Zombie Apocalypse!

I understand. You assumed, but I referenced 'old west' and/or roaring twenties theme.
Old West WoD would actually interest me. Lots of potential for great RP there, and saloon RP would be a /lot/ more interesting than bar RP, cuz the local sheriff only cares of it was a clean fight or not.

MWO coming out with the Warhammer, just 6 days before I lose a huge bulk of my gaming time...
