There you have it, @Lithium, multiple suggestions for nothing you wanted. 🙂

That's the way it goes 🙂 At the moment, Aberrant is the easiest conversion but, I am /reallyreallyreally/ tempted to throw balance out the window and make people random roll characters via old school Marvel with some combat house rule tweaks 🙂

It is definitely more four color than gritty, so if that's the setting you're going for, it might not fit. Personally, I find it mechanically very sound. Wild Talents?

Wild Talents I liked, but, the differences between hard dice, wiggle dice, and regular dice could make it relatively easy to be confused for newcomers to the system, and an easy way to gimp yourself.

Savage Worlds I liked, except for the whole dealing out playing cards thing. Which is just adding an unneeded level of complexity to mush dice code.

In the grand tradition of ignoring presented options for personal preference: M&M3e.

I was going to use M&M3e but, they kiddy gloved it so much, and there was issues with the system I disliked.

I am reasonably certain I can code all of these systems without taking to much time to do so.

As for scale, I want to allow a wide range of scales because even The Avengers, or Justice League, had people of widely disproportionate power levels in it.

Tactically I don't want to have to try and code up a battle grid or the like, that is beyond me. I'm not capable of doing so at this time.

I am not familiar with Capes, Masks, or Mutant Blues.

You might want to see if there is a direct wireless service in the area. When I lived in the middle of nowhere, my high speed options were satellite, cellphone, and amazingly a company had direct wireless in the area but, I had to many trees so it didn't work for me. It may be an option and should be significantly cheaper than running a cable.

    • Super Hero System?

I am torn on what system to use, or to just make up one so that everyone is equally annoyed at having to read a bunch even more than they will be for having to read original news and theme files.

Option 1) Pure Marvel Super Hero RPG (TSR version) complete with random rolled stats/powers.
Option 2) Marvel Super Heroes converted to a point buy system
      Option 3) Supers! Revised Edition
Option 4) Custom FATE (Probably based off Strands of Fate)
Option 5) DC Adventures (Or the game of chart comparisons!)
Option 6) Champions 6th Edition (Caveat: I will put in templates so people can create solid characters quickly without needing to know the rules in infinite detail).
Option 7) Aberrant (Change Node to Channeling, and Quantum to Power Rating, remove automatic taint, make them flaws for nova points)

No matter what system, there will be no FC's, and not based on any established comic universe. This is to get an idea as to what this particular community would like to see most out of these options.

Reply with option of choice please.

    • RE: Any interest in a possible TOS-era Star Trek Fate Accelerated game?

      @Soresu

I don't really care because I don't play there. I just got an e-mail, which was deleted as soon as it was read (cuz I don't play there), that said they switched servers. So I don't even know if I /have/ an updated server address for it. Mudstats has it operational though so, I dunno.

Either way neither here nor there, now, to figure out how to create a poll!

It's rare to see it as a Storyteller. I bring in NPCs the characters have every reason to fear but they don't show it. They'll give lip, stand defiant, try to negotiate... but they won't ever lose their composure, back down or be intimidated. Sometimes I'd like that as well, to see the hopelessness sink in. Everyone conquers their fears, it seems.

This is actually one of the /only/ things I truly love about the FATE system. Social Combat can be just as horrible as physical combat, up to and including some serious complications and consequences.

Is it perfect? No, but the social character can be /deadly/.

EDIT: Side note - This is why Super Hero games need to be more popular, so many people just want to play unrealistic super heroes who think they'll survive anything even if they don't run and hide when guns come out, they'd /better/ be a frikken super hero.

Not in my world though, nobody is immortal in my games. People will die. There are no kid gloves and no PC or NPC is sacred.

I like them both for what they are. I find both entertaining, one in a more actiony way and the other in a much more cerebral way. Both are entertaining and worth watching for different reasons.

Big ship Firefly does sound somewhat intriguing though.

The Star Trek game I want is turn based Star Fleet Battles rather than real time combat simulation. Fate would work fine for a system for non-ship related stuff I guess, but honestly just about any system would work for me.

I even had a lot of fun back in the day with the original Star Trek RPG in table-top.

No. This isn't a fucking popularity contest.

But I am more popular than a lot of other people here, so fuck you I'm popular.

But you'll still never have more posts than @Arkandel or @Coin. 😛

Grindin' respect, one post at a time.

I don't know about that, I'm still waiting in rapt fascination for one of your characters to start killing and eating high priced hookers because of your picture here... Elijah Wood, forever freaky and no longer just an innocent hobbit...

Back in the glory days of CrackMUX I lost characters pretty reliably. I'd get some power, get some sheet, and then get taken out by a group of other people who were at odds with me... or because I killed the leader of the BSD hive in an elevator using dragonbreath rounds and a shotgun for a million dollars...

I'll never own a fitbit, because I'm one of those people who need to control absolutely every aspect of my life to even remotely get my metabolism to /let/ me assume any other shape than 'pear'.

So a fitbit is just going to annoy me and be mean to me for no good reason.

I can honestly say, even all the times I got into it with others I never just blindly downvoted. I have downvoted a fair amount of a thread, but it wasn't blindly. I read, and said: WTF Child, you are why it is socially unacceptable to call special needs people retarded anymore.

Downvoting doesn't matter because it's fucking anonymous. Upvoting isn't, but downvoting is. It makes no sense to me.

When I downvote something I am declaring, no, bitch, you are wrong in my eyes. Sometimes that's enough, I don't feel the need to even /validate/ something by giving it a response.

Now if I just disagree with something and it's debateable I will make a post instead of downvoting but... I am an unreasonable cunt.

That depends entirely on how the staff are 'bad' as there are many varieties of it.

If a game is still operational, then there is still the possibility for table-top situations that are code supported with sheets and everything for ease of use and RP and stories can still continue.

It's sort of like some of the huge WoD games, there are clique's of people happily doing their own thing, just ignoring and never interacting with staff so they can have their own pretendy funtimes.

I suppose this could be the case with /no/ staff also, and makes another point towards: Just build it and let it play out however.

It'd be more feasible for me if I could run a game on each of my various ports. Why give someone multiple ports, and then only let them really use one? I do not comprende.

In all fairness I will likely do a shadowrun 5e game in the future but I'll need more people willing to help run it. Games always need good staff.

Bad players can kill games. Bad staff can kill games. LACK of staff will kill a game faster than anything.

Sure I know these things, but there is still something soul sucking about people attacking what you're doing, before you have even finished it.

Yeah I know, grow a thicker skin or whatever, but sometimes I throw ideas out there just to test the waters, and sometimes I am /going/ to do them regardless of what anyone else thinks come hell or highwater.
