I was talking with a coworker, and we both think this would work best as a Powered by The Apocalypse convention one shot. I think I'm going to whip up a Stalin's Birthday scenario with the skill list above.

Death of Stalin/Paranoia game
@Ghost said in Incentives for RP:
Unless it's StalinMush(tm). Then, mandated leadership is encouraged and bannings for failure/cowardice (enforced by staff-appointed Commissar) will help keep the people strong.
I so want this. I'm picturing a game where xp is spent staying alive rather than becoming an uber character. All of the characters are party members, even if they don't know it--their parents signed them up for their sixth birthday or something, and yeah, everyone is on a list.
Weekly plots revolve around Stalin wanting a wedge of cheese from a certain deli or something, and people have to scramble to get it, who cares what happens. Maybe like a slapstick shadowrun vibe with a sprinkling of 1984 to it or something.
Would people be interested in something like this? I think it could be squeezed for a solid year of fun rp with many characters disappearing off of the wiki.

She's afraid that our boy isn't going to have as many invitees show up as our girl, and that this will scar him.
As a summer kid, this happened to me a lot. Because school was out, it was difficult to invite people I wasn't already just hanging out with, so my birthday parties were always one or two friends and a bunch of cousins. My siblings, who were born during the school year always had like 20 kids showing up to theirs. This is probably why I don't care about birthdays (beyond the chocolate raspberry cakes) as an adult.

RE: Game of Thrones
I feel like everyone would be happy with the heel turn if it happened seconds before the bells sounded. Going ape after you've finally won is stupid and clearly insane. Going ape because the city just won't effing surrender, 'okay you mofos, you're going to burn' makes all the sense that the writers are trying to talk about. Even having the bells sounding while she's razing the town is fine and still in character for her, but doing it after the surrender makes no sense at all. "It's personal" wtf is that?

RE: If you work hard, son, maybe someday you'll RP
~~I used to be very open to saying Yes Let's on channels but have had a such a long string of people who just one line back with no hooks that I've kind of given up. Aside from lazy players begging for rp, there are a lot of people out in mushdom who create antisocial characters who don't play well with strangers, and I just don't see how they get to complain after my character walks out of a scene where theirs is being an obnoxious jerk.~~ ~~Like, I usually play regular types of people, if there's someone being a brooding stranger in the back of a cafe, they're not going to go interrupt them for no reason(I'm in the camp that the brooding loners have to create the hooks, sorry, don't put that responsibility on others), they're going to walk in, order their pie eat it and leave. If they're an obnoxious ranting lunatic, they'll order their pie to go.~~ ~~I don't know if I've just worked customer service for too long, but I don't have the patience for 'quirky' characters who's players seem intent on making them as unlikable as possible, and then the players complain about no rp.~~~~ TL'DR: Many players are tired of high effort no reward scenes with people asking for random rp without putting any hooks in their requests.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Just saw John Wick 3. It was awesomely ridiculous action porn consistent with the series. I love the ninjas & superspies feel of that setting. As much as I liked it, I hope for John Wick 4 they reel the comedy in a little bit.

RE: Game of Thrones
Honestly? I got my Cleganebowl. After the rest of the 'twists' they've done, they can't take that back, unless Bran rewinds time and has the hound have a spontaneous stroke walking up all those stairs.
Anyways, my expectations for next episode are so low now, that it's likely I'll enjoy it.

RE: Recycling characters
I think it's generally fine as long as they don't show up with superpowers or anything that ruins the fun for others. I've done it in the past, and I've seen it done well in the past, particularly, when one star wars mush was shutting down, the cast moved over to a new one-I forget the names of the mushes, but that was back when they tended to be more sector specific mushes rather than galaxy ones.

I don't know if anyone's shared Helsreach here yet, but any 40k nerds would probably enjoy it.
Vol. 1 (first ten episodes):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUplioG2DC4The other episodes are singles on the guy's channel. I'm very excited that he was picked up by GW to do a paid gig making cartoons for them instead of doing mocap with a playstation in his living room.

@Ghost I hadn't heard the Worstar thing. That is, uh, pretty special.
But I agree on the rest for sure. There's definitely not a lot of motivation for him.
On top of that, rumour has it, he writes on an air gaped 1990s era computer, and plans to retire if it ever fails.

And.... go.
(My vote is dexterity.)
Charisma all the way! If you're relying on your constitution, they're clearly not into it, dexterity is nice but not required, wisdom is the best of the three for picking up cues, but charisma really lets you sell it.

RE: Superstitions
Gotta use the washroom before my commute. Every single time I'm in a rush and skip the pre-emptive counterstrike, the train has a delay of some sort and I'm dying by the time I get anywhere. Also, doing step calculations in these situations seems to make it worse.

RE: Concerts & Goth Stuff
I got to see GnR during the Use Your Illusion tour, it was awesome! They were walking out of shows left and right on that tour, but they played for nearly 3 hours when they came to my town.
Also, I got to see SUB HUM ANS last summer, too, they were amazing, if it wasn't for the singer making fun of two narbos in the crowd, I would have sworn they were lipsyncing it was so good.
