      @Lotherio
Well thank you for the vote of confidence, I started working on something, and I've been trying to make it stick if you're interested you can read about my WACKY idea Arkaen.

Its in the ALL THE IDEAS OMG SO MANY, BUT SOOO GOOD. Stages. Its that right level of : Wacky Mishmash fantasy, and... 'Ptolus':City by the Spire', inspiration that I wanted. ( I actually I admit Ptolus was a skim it- and draw ideas out of it. level concept.).

I'd appreciate Feed back. As I said am thinking of doing a Forum/PBP game using the this setting, but its one of those things of 'I need to get all the peices, and then present it to people..

As a note: Edits are turned on and people can suggestion things and ask questions!

Vicotoriana is ok: my others suggestion for Victorian goodness would be: "A Clockwork Dominion".

I'd love either of those two...
@Kindelwyrm Now you're making me ponder a forum game that's mash up of those two ideas. Because forums are 'easier' to produce and keep going.. in some senses of the world.

Gothic Victorian, Dragon riders/ Dragon people.
Or Gothic Victorian Supernatural is exposed world. The Queen is a Dragonkin, the King is a Vampire,(ect.?)

Target numbers are great and should be variable for players (new vampire, lower numbers.) Older vampire higher numbers. (or something like that.)

    • Streaming: The Long Dark

With the Steam Sale on, I picked up the Long Dark- a game of survival in a quiet post Apocalypse setting.

I know one of our in a streamer here, so I was curious what sort of streaming software is used? I planned on streaming my abysmal attempts at a first time playthrough.

I was considering using X-Split Game Caster, or X-split broad caster and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with either, and would be willing to help me setup?

    • RE: [LF Staff] Original Fae-based High-Fantasy MUSH

Ok! Sorry I tend to think of these things, msotly because their interesting and makes a world 'pop', with some color. So they don't become 'default' X culture.

Clothing? Do Fae living cities, or towns? On the ground in the trees? What does their agriculture look like (if they grow, nuts and fruit, I'd assume some Fae are in charge of those things?

Anyway. I'd really like to see how this all plays out!

@ThatGuyThere That's neato, and then horrible sad when you realize this adorable kid with this nickname lost his mind and just did HORRIBLE HORRIBLE things.

@Merit Do Fae keep pets, what kind? Intelligent? Non? What do they eat? are their food customs or ,general customs, that should be observed?

I mean that kind of cultural thing might different from tribe to tribe, but there must be a 'common root'? How did the different tries come to be and can more be made?

@ThatGuyThere Wait Caligula's NAME means something so 'adorable' as "Little Boots"- he was BATSHIT CRAZY MASS MURDER?!

      Ok.. that's neat point.

    • RE: [LF Staff] Original Fae-based High-Fantasy MUSH

      I like that actually @Merit.
Perhaps point out that various clans do indeed draw from many many different cultures, (fantastical and not).

I'll borrow the concept from elfquest: Wolfrider's have a 'public' use-name. "Cutter" (for quickwit & skill with a sword), but also a soul name (that only the closest to them know- their parents, their spouses, Cutter's 'Tam'.), His soulBrother ,Skywise's soul name is Fahr, but when Cutter met his life mate.. She doesn't have a soul name (she's not a wolfrider, there is no need to 'hide' who she is). He basically goes: All I found... was Leetah ( her name, which means 'Healing Light'-).

So why not just say: that the Fae have public names & private names, and the idea of Masks & Personae are common amounts them.
One Winter Fae, could easily be 'Lady Iceheart' when acting in a judge capcity,-it's both a title and name, but to her friends is Ysalye' ( Ok so I totally took that from Final Fantasy XIV, but I make my point.)

A varity of 'names' & titles and monikers, for a variety of occasions, which makes influence their look. or outward 'appearance' slightly. You can still tell who they 'ARE', that isn't hidden from you, as a Fae. But then again Fae probably also go through changes from childhood they maybe called one, thing, and grow some and gain a deed, or use name, that sticks to them like gule, so strong is the resonance with their person, and then still later they grow more and gain a proper 'adult' title, and name, but people still use say that childhood/teen name, to indicate a closer association.

      @Bobotron
True and I am glad you can state that.
Its fine. I guess I kept asking myself : What makes this NOT True blood and not Not WoD.. and the like.
But that's perfectly ok, and infact is probably better than what I Wanted.

      Back on Topic:

I'd really like an alternative world, something, that feels different. I mean if Vampires have been around, and they are living and breathing, I am of the opinion the world just couldn't have 'remained the same' except for they exist. They all the worlds rulers lived and died. Births and death, would change the world.

And if Vampires are involved. Things will change.

I think we need a discussion, on what humans known, how they know. How this all works.
I've never been the biggest fan of 'hidden SUPERS'.
I like the idea of Anita Blake's : 'Supers are our in the Open' there are laws and rules for the general populace and people you CALL when shit happens.

I've found that much more interesting scenario, than things hiding in the shadow and you need to cover it up with 'Section 7'.
So I vote things are out of hiding.
