Okay, so it was just a moderately complex SQL query, but it's still damn impressive. I'm running it over and over in different ways to amuse myself.

I will not lie, I've had moments doing complex database queries where it finally comes together in and in a moment of sheer victory I find myself quoting Josh from West Wing: "I drink from the keg of glory; bring me the finest muffins and bagels in all the land."

So, celebrate that moment.

Ah, for some reason I thought this was a recurrence of a past pain. Fair enough, then; I hope it's cured and doesn't cross into chronic, either way.

Valerian in the comics is someone who, in his better moments, is supposedly one of the original inspirations for Han Solo, or so I've heard. (These comics have been around a long time.) And if that tale is apocryphal, it's still believable.

In the movie he was cardboard.

I enjoyed the movie but I found him very disappointing in the role.

I really do like that policy document; I think it's served well on all of the games that I've played on where it's been used. The games haven't been perfect, of course—and there have been times I've disagreed with staff's decisions—but I've always felt that I was respected as a player, and I think the tone guideline is very important to that

He's an avid D&D player, yes. He's played on several D&D streams, notably Matt Mercer's Critical Role (where he played a level 17 dragonborn paladin/barbarian named Arkhan the Cruel).

He's pretty fun to watch!

@thenomain I would not play with FS3; the system's wrong for this, you see. There's no place without gaming fools, and people like to argue rules. A Traveller MUSH would be a mess, so much it leaves me quite depressed.

(And I'm out; fun as it is, I refuse to play an extended version of this game on someone else's playlist thread.)

But the big question is would you play it on a Mud? Would you play it with a HUD? Would you could you with some code? Would you should you on the road?

I would not, could not, on a MUD, or on the road, or with a HUD. The game's a mess, I must admit, and players would all want to quit.

@arkandel Having seen it last night, it actually wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. It definitely felt like two disparate movies smashed together, though, and the edges were very visible. But it was still enjoyable, if very flawed in execution.

@sockmonkey I did give Changeling a try, though I find WoD still an overly complex system for MUs. It makes it hard to really dig in for me, somehow.

Five weeks, this headache has lasted.

So I went to the ER today finally and got treated. And while the headache is considerably better (though not gone) at the moment, one of the cocktail of meds they gave me made me incredibly restless. So I'm exhausted/tired and yet very twitchy right now, which is a combination I'm not enjoying.

(Still, preferable to the headache.)

Second irritation, though, is that they have something they think might help which I should try, and my insurance has decided they don't want to cover it. Cost without insurance? Roughly $1100 per prescription.
