That is one of the kindest things I think I've ever seen video game wise, it really is. How much money it is costing them, and why they're spending it.

The skills that I have learned mushing / running games are highly valued in my place of employment. They are gaining me recognition and praise, and I am being sought out to do the things that I learned specifically, directly from my experiences mushing. (eta example: think writing policies, or handling complaints from troubled users with grace)
I basically got a raise because of this hobby. It's a sixty cent raise, which doesn't sound like much but in the world of government is huge.
Given the givens, I'm sure it's the most recent weird troll. This person is hell bent on getting a rise out of the community for whatever reason (probably REALLY bored during quarantine and hasn't discovered Twitter yet), and the more attention we pay to him the more he's going to do it.
Take his weapons away with the realization that nothing he says is sincere or a genuinely held belief, and he is specifically saying things like "I would have changed if you'd talked nice to me" as part of the spiel. Don't give him your regard, your guilt, or your consideration. He is weaponizing your compassion to make an impact. Stop it.

I find it helps to flip the script and be glad that he felt safe enough to get a tattoo like that without thinking very hard about the repercussions. He felt safe enough to get a freaking corp rainbow flag tattoo. Like, yay that he was able to do that stupid shit, right????

yeah. there's a lot. and it matters. the vast majority of the choices actually matter in terms of how you interact with the story.
Nope! Though altering the choices you make can very swiftly end up with a different story anyway.
Oh, gosh. Yeah, that one is a personal favorite, but the two really are that good. Though, I say they are peak Bioware-- the rest of them are only slightly below that. I have one of everything and they're all current on story; I'm playing a different MMO right now, so I only sub to SWTOR when a new story-content patch drops. Which I'm waiting for right now. Sigh. I was actually really really really happy with Onslaught.
It is one of my favorite games. The Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior stories are hands down peak Bioware.
