      @Derp

Absolutely, but if you are saying it to disagree, then you aren't actually trying to help, you are trying to state your opinion, which is fine? But they are different things. If you are trying to be helpful, which you said you were, telling someone who is intimidated or overwhelmed by the rules that they are wrong for being so

      Isn't
      Going
      To
      Help

Eta: In reality, what it will actually do is alienate your audience and make them stop listening, and they are likely to walk away thinking it is MORE complicated than they thought, not less, AND it will likely reduce their desire to learn.

Telling someone who has said they find something complicated that it isn't complicated is the opposite of helpful, as the implication is that they are just dumb for being confused by something that is clearly so simple.

That is a good point. As an ST, I still use 'you' in one on one storytelling scenes. Not that I have lately, but when I start my OTT up again...yeah. I DO do that!

It was absolutely accepted and normal practice to switch to second person for all one on one scenes back when I started, as well. It may not have been everywhere, but early 90s WoD default was this way. It changed over the years. I only ever see it as a red flag if I request that it stop and they have a problem with that. Otherwisr, well, that's how they probably learned to play and don't realize some folks don't like it. I think it's projection to say that it's because there is IC/OOC bleed.

ETA: I mean, I think there is a huge dose of projection all over this thread, even if nobody else is going to say it, lol. Some people being unable to handle their shit does not apply universally, suddenly. Sometimes people rolling their eyes and saying the problem is invented...well, it is actually because the problem has been invented. 1 out of 100 does not a common problem make.

I cry sometimes when I watch a sad movie, read a sad book, or RP out a sad scene. I have certainly felt anger when my character is angry, and elated when they succeeded. I was so happy when someone made my character a dress and gave it as a present to her, especially because I know how much OOC time went into making it IC.

But I do not ever even a little bit get horny from sexual rp because that would be wrong and bad and clearly would show that I have IC/OOC issues, amirite?

ETA: The previous statement is untrue. Hyperbole. There have been scenes that I found hot. It has absolutely happened. I had sexy dreams about an MMO NPC once, too. TOTALLY had to fan myself cool after the first kiss between my Jedi Knight and [redacted] in swtor, since I've been waiting literal years for that shit. And Cullen in DA:I? Zomg.

It's almost like people have differing experiences and place different weight and import on matters related to sexuality. Weird.

Characters are ENTIRELY extensions of the players, whether it's sex or not.

      Okay, let's test the hypothesis.

Folks, please be honest (if you want to be). When it comes to TS how much are your characters' preferences typically an extension of your own OOC ones?

I don't mean that just in the vanilla way - i.e. that they have the same sexual orientation as you do - although that can apply as well. More specifically, whatever your kinks might be, do your PCs tend to have the same ones or not?

Once upon a time, I ended up having a huge blow up with a person who I played with semi-regularly over his inability to accept that because he knew I liked something in the bedroom, and a character of mine reacted violently (after his PC was ICly warned, even). It ultimately ended with me having to block him on discord and elsewhere because it ultimately came out how very very thin the IC/OOC separation was for him.

    • RE: Resume Help

I'll help if you still need. Get it done to the best of your ability, email it to me. I'll go over it and send it back. I do it fairly regularly for folks. PM me if you need my email / to let me know it's on its way.

ETA: It depends completely on the industry and company in question as to whether they use keyword type programs or actually review them. If you are applying at anything but a corporate environment, keep that in mind. IT might use those programs, for example, but if you're looking for a baking job you would do it very differently. Also depends on if you're working through a headhunter or not.

So I asked my son what keyboard he bought for his tablet and he uses this one it survived a 16 year old. So... YMMV

Edit: He earned the money so he could pay for it. So, yeah. I'd have never bought it for him.

I also have this one (via work) and it is fantastic, if pricey. Never had an issue with it. It mostly lives in my drawer tho.
