@bobotron Straight up? Beast is gross top to bottom. That book reeks of misguided ideas executed in the least interesting way possible.

RE: Halo: Spartan Wars
I for one am very excited about this project!
Tell me more about this The Joker thing? I don't think I grasped it very well.

@thenomain Save us, Theno! You are the coder we need, not the one we deserve!

RE: oWoD - Is there such thing as a good one?
There isn't. Please make a good* oWoD game. Please.
- Note: Must allow Sabbat vampires.

RE: A new platform?
@sunny Man, you have been a dick in two recent threads now without any good reason. Relax, man, what the fuck. @SquirrelTalk asked the MU community if we have any "direct competitor" or alternative, and it seems like this forum would be a great place to start her search. You are being rude for no reason, and it is not the first time I've seen you do it. Can you chill? Is anyone forcing you to post on these threads?
@SquirrelTalk I hear Roll20 is supposed to be taking some people away, but I rather wait for an in-community solution for a much needed 'step forward'. MUs are so clunky and needlessly old. I can't believe we can't do better.

RE: Blood of Dragons
@hamstersonpcp This is so ill conceived. You should give this whole 'being sarcastic at online forums' some more thought.
Having a bunch of superpowered people doesn't dilute the comic book theme (but having 20 Kryptonians in a game for sure makes Superman's emo over losing his planet feel quite less thematic, which would be a more apt comparison. "Why can't I make OC Kryptonians, bro?" Because it makes Superman look stupid. Also they are unfun).
Having an army of supermodels who can fight in ASOIAF would make it feel unlike the books, which is not what some players are interested in. I don't even play this game, but this lazy accusation is just that. Lazy.

RE: Blood of Dragons
@kanye-qwest I think she referred to limiting these concepts as opposed to outright prohibiting them. Fact is that in ASOIAF there are not many female warriors, and they are almost exclusively from exotic or bizarre cultures. If I make a Mormont woman, I would be kinda pissed if I was told I can't be a fighter, but a Lannister woman that fights is very bizarre. Limiting these concepts isn't bad, in theory, but... "in theory" is a one hell of an asterisk.
To say nothing of the fact that many of the female fighters are... not on par with their male counterparts. That is just not how the world works, but if you try to explain that to most players (who are not obsessed with the source material) I bet it would go poorly. "Why can't I have Strength 5!?" // "You are a woman, and unless you are some massive ho like Brienne, that ain't happening" usually doesn't end up well.
Now, how do they decide who can or cannot make an exotic concept like Oberyn, for example, or Brienne, that has me curious!

@bad-at-lurking He made a deal with a demon all right...

RE: San Francisco: Paris of the West
So far the staff on this game that I have interacted with (Hadraniel and Gabriel) have been nothing but role models. Tough when they need to be, but fair and welcoming. They behave like fellow RPers and not rock stars who seem to think they can do no wrong. I am legit mystified by their performance so far.

RE: San Francisco: Paris of the West
People are complaining about how long it takes to get approved, but I have never been in a game where someone has not only READ my background, but sat with me and worked the kinks of it all to make me fit their setting, WHILE adding to the things I had in mind at first.
Please do keep up doing what you guys are doing. I rather wait for a week than the alternative.

RE: #WIDWW pt 2 - ST, Player, or staff?
I have never ran into issues with staff bitching about my campy stuff. I don't really think most staff even reads logs posted on their wikis, and those that do rarely go "Hey this group is having fun, fuck em up".
I think this is a total nonissue.
The problem with camp only comes when it polutes theme. For example, making a League of Doom composed by Bale Hounds, Strix, Cursed Mummies, Praecipati and Critters for your plot. That shit needs to be nipped at the bud and I love me some Critters.

RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
@carex Shouldn't this be evident? What is this the solution for?
What I meant by my post is that I feel that rushing a game because FC seems to be on the downside and a newgame is on the upswing is not how @Sonder was successful, from what I have ever seen of her games. She has been reliable and a unifying force behind the curtains on Reach and Fallcoast, which is way easier said than done.
Take time to develop your game and do not rush it. This might be the first time Reach has had a real competition, but use that as a motivator to make your game better, not faster, as a reason to to shoot yourself on the foot.
-
RE: Miami, Blood in the Water
Hey, @Sonder, I really like the effort you put in supporting your games. That is really hard and despite mistakes, you have done a better job than anyone I've seen.
That being said, I think this announcement is sort of a mistake. It feels like you are playing catchup with the San Francisco game, and is rushing out THE R3EACH: MIAMI EDITION. That game probably needs some time to develop so it can be its own thing, and compete with San Francisco on quality and direction, and not launching dates.
I have seen your ad for Fallcoast (the one made by the chamber of commerce, I think) and that had a lot of energy and vision behind it. I don't feel like this is it, and I know for sure you can do better! Relax, you know your shit.
Wish all the luck!

RE: nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E
@arkandel I don't know what the hell that is or what possesses someone to send staff that sort of thing, but staff has better things to do than being inflicted with that. It feels tactless, attention whorish and straight-up weird af.
-
RE: nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E
@jennkryst All I hear about this TS Harmony stuff. Wanna know a quick fix for it? HR that it isn't a thing, or that staff isn't interested in it. Because staff shouldn't need to be brutalized by bad TS.
This is such a non-issue.
HR: Don't send us fucking-related Harmony rolls. Just don't.

RE: nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E
I am of the opinion that 1e is better than 2e.
I don't like flat XP costs.
I like the Bloodline, Legacy, power, merits, etc, options.
I think the power creep on 2e is way more real.
Vampire I mostly prefer 2e, other than the lack of bloodlines, the power creep and the lack of interesting blood sorcery rituals/miracles, but werewolf and mage? 1e.
