The 'and I don't believe him, so he's fucking out of here' felt so out of left field. I loved it.

A trait-based comic MU, who cares if it's all on the wiki? All the info is just for reference. "Superman can lift 100 tons." I think we all know that.

Obviously a WoD game or something, you need +sheets on the game so people can do rolls and spend xp and whatever.

I mean, until we have code where +roll strength checks your name, then checks the wiki, and pulls info from some staff-maintained database on the wiki or some shit....

This was my problem when I was looking at it too.

They seemingly skipped entries in series they were using that would've thematically fit just fine, but included other entries that stretched the limits of the theme, and tbh it just gave the distinct impression of 'staff wanted to play characters from Wild Arms 1 and 3 but not anybody from 2, so we ignored it', etc. (Those numbers might be off, I haven't looked at the game in a while.) Which is fine, I guess. It was just kind of offputting, and annoying because most the 'popular' characters from all those were taken already and you're left going "well...if X entry in this series was included, there'd be more characters available..."

@lithium I'm guessing it's an app via email kind of place? Probably uncommon to a lot of people around here, but not the end of the world.

@alzie You summed up the problem with most hero MUs pretty succinctly, I applaud you.

@alzie, I would like to highly recommend you check out United Heroes.

I imagine plenty of people will say yes.

However, I'd be pretty amazed if the novelty of the whole thing didn't wear off incredibly quickly.

The problem with the guest stars, was yes, the rules not actually being enforced. And as MUers, I'm pretty sure all of us had very little reason to ever expect they were going to be.

I have no idea if they still exist or not. If they don't, that's good.

Like for the microtransaction+matchmaking thing to 'work' there has to be some element of p2w. Even if it's just 'pay to get stronger faster' which is generally a little more tolerated. This would probably exacerbate that to being not tolerated either.

I mean, I play Smite, how would it work in say, a MOBA. What are you going to do, match me against people who have less skins than I do?

@emmahsue I definitely understand where you're coming from and it's a perfectly valid point, but I'm not sure people need an additional reason to not step forward and contact staff about issues.

Staff may not (and honestly should not) take your log as gospel and absolute truth without corroborating facts/context/etc, but if you don't at least try and say something about being abused, the chances of the offending party getting away with causing harm to more people drastically increases.
