I'm pretty sure people have basically begged for this at various points in time. Please, allow me to pull back the curtain for you. I've apped on a lot of places over the years and dropped them within a week, and my memory is terrible. Let's see what I remember...

      Previous :
Firan : Gemma when she was 30+, Zeynasi after the staffer got bored with her. A dozen other people briefly. Tia, Linni, Shade after the staffer got bored with her.
CoFaB - Lucretia and Zhen Ji
      The Reach - Xiao
That One Vampire Game Everybody Raves About - Aoife
Reno 1&2 - Selina and also staff as....somebody. I forget.
Dystopia - Some azn mob bitch. Also named Xiao maybe? I liked that game, shame it died.
Fallen World - Black Card and Katrina
Mutant Genesis (and the branch off DC game) - Co-creator (Stark) and Magik.
San Francisco - Cersei + alts.
Arx - Marian for like...a month waaaay back when she was first created.

      Current :

      lol go fuck yourself

This all sounds pretty awesome, good luck getting it all together!

ETA : I'm sure it's already on the agenda, but making sure there is room for people on these things who aren't combat-y is probably important. You said there's going to be a 'defend' thing for the combat which helps.

Finding the right balance of AVOIDING "you need 2 fighters and 1 thief type or gtfo" cookie cutter requirements is probably important. Maybe don't /require/ lockpickers on every trip, buuut if you have one with you, maybe you get a chance at more loot than you would otherwise. Maybe let more sneaky types try to skirt through half of a shard haven if they opt to avoid where the big bad monster (and good loot) is.

On the surface I'm having trouble picturing there being room for social characters, which sucks. Buuut...maybe some of the monsters are sentient? IDK.

Mental/Occult-y type characters can at least tag along for puzzles or identifying stuff you find.

Will these have "difficulties" tied to them that people can see? "This is a very dangerous shardhaven, don't set foot inside unless you know what you're doing." Etc/etc. --Or maybe that's something that scout-y or occult-y people can try and "identify" before actually going to the shardhaven.

And now I hate AC Odyssey and think it's the dumbest piece of shit ever.

So glad I invested all my stuff so far into assassin + hunter perks and eq, to get to the "conquest" battle, which is literally nothing but a "spam basic attack fest" where anything other than the basic attack buttons is useless.

Oh, and the game's advice "go level up and get stronger :D". WOW. Maybe if the enemies would STOP LEVELLING WITH ME.

Kassandra looks amazing. And the dialogue choice/damage numbers/etc are...very interesting for an Assassin's Creed game. o__O

Also it feels worth repeating. Goddamn this Spider-Man game is fantastic. Even though I know it's largely a mish-mash of mechanics from other games...everything just feels right.

What is this in-game purchase helix currency for in Odyssey? (It's currently downloading.)

Unless they put a ton of effort into developing the character's personality and story (see: Geralt from the Witcher), I'd generally rather play as a female than "insert generic action dudebro" and it does impact my interest in games.

Thanks, peeps. Will probably pick Odyssey up.

In other news, wow this Spider-Man game is amazing as hell. I know it's largely just a reskin of the Batman games with added old-school 'find the vantage point' Assassin's Creed mechanics, but jesus christ. It seems perfect so far, and fighting as Spidey feels so FLUID it's crazy.

Red Dead Redemption 2...feels like it has a lot of potential, but it also feels kind of...tedious. Not sure I'm going to like it. I hate the inventory systems and the lack of fast travel makes me want to cry (I know you can unlock fast travel later, but oof). They went a little too "realistic" with some of the gameplay mechanics, is my impression so far.

Those two and 'robot-hunter girl' are my library atm. I haven't tried the hunter girl thing yet. (I always forget the name of that game.) Was only 20$ so grabbed that, tho.

IDK where to look for decent game reviews these days.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey any good? Looks fun, but from what I recall of the old AC's, the gameplay is very...same-y.

Old stuff, but thoughts on Persona 5?

I really dig Persona 3+4, with the combat system in them probably being the worst part for me, yet the games being pretty fun and playable despite that.

But the fact that Persona 5 is still 50$ annddd...I don't find myself super digging ANY of the apparent designs of the cast of characters has me leery.

      @tempest

Those people still aren't hurting anything, and it's best to keep your mouth shut rather than going to those games' development threads to poo all over everything.

I would argue that it is a form of predatory behavior, after a certain point, when it's clear they're not doing it for the sake of enjoying making the game (and then losing interest), but for the attention that comes with it (and then tossing the game when they no longer have that 'owner of the shiny new WoD game' tag), but...I'll save that for another day and won't post about that again here.

Again, Cobalt isn't on that list for me.

@Cobaltasaurus is fine. She's actually interested in doing her stuff and puts some effort into them usually, and what not.

There are other people on the board who are different to me. They have made it clear, time and time again, that they're just in it for the 'recognition' of being "that person who's making the new WoD game :D" and they want to be the SAVIOR OF MUING while providing McDonald's-esque experiences that they abandon after 2 months.

@thenomain said in Changeling the Lost: 2nd Edition:

the twelve listed seems a bit few.

Wait, there are only twelve Kiths listed? Like, total, in the whole book?

Does that surprise anybody, after the Vamp book with 0 bloodlines and the Mage book with what, 1 Legacy?

Kiths are more 'intrinsic' to the splat, yeah, but it sounds like they were lazy and the Kiths aren't bound to Seemings now? They probably figured "Oh, Seeming + Court is good enough!"

Gonna assume there aren't any Entitlements in the book at all.

Not a fan of Touchstones in general. It probably works for tabletop, but in MU it is 100% a useless thing that never comes up ever.

Also not a fan of tying Changeling as a whole to ghosts at all. Seems pretty...random?

    • RE: Crescent Moon Mux / New Orleans CoD Mux

Comments about wiki pages with 10+ pictures in an ad that says literally nothing about the game besides "modern, in New Orleans, Vampire", seems so weird.

You spent more time going over your peeves about wikis than telling anybody anything about the game.
