      @insomniac7809

      Right there with you.

      I still can't decide if I hate all the main characters or like them. For all my hand-wringing on it, it's as if one day Joe Abercrombie decided 'hey, what if I wrote a book series about really horrible people with only the slightest hint of likability'

      Except Three-Trees. He's the best.

      So. I hate dentists. I think most people aren't fond of them. But I've had this tooth for far longer than I'd like to admit that's had problems. Most times, it hasn't been an issue, and because I hate dentists, I didn't get it taken care of like the responsible adult I should've been.

      Now, it's bothering me. By bothering I mean annoying discomfort to mild pain because it's slightly inflected and probably a little abcessed by the xray that was taken on it. The dentist I went to didn't want to extract it because of its shape. So I have to go to an oral surgeon. So all that mental hype and prep I had to give myself this morning, as well as taken off work, was for nothing. So now I get to deal with the pain until Wednesday.

      Double post.

      But, I feel like Toronto gave Milwaukee their best shot last night. I did not expect that kind of play from Lopez though. Series isn't over, but damn the Raptors threw everything but the bench seats at the Bucks.

      Look. I'll tell you what I want for the last episode.

      I just want to forget about everything that happened in the last episode and have it be nothing but Tormund and Ghost playing in the North.

      That's the ending I want.

      @Lisse24 said in Game of Thrones:

      @GangOfDolls
      And this is my problem with this season. If you have to tell me in after-episode interviews what happened, then you did a crappy job writing.

      Also, character development means absolutely nothing.

      @Arkandel This is the exact reason why I like these playoffs so much. It's the Revenge of the Small Market. All these teams in the playoffs who have categorically sucked more or less for years. As a Bucks fan, I can't tell you the kind of languishing we've had. The last time we were even remotely 'good' was during the Glenn Robinson run back in the late 90s/early 00s. Philly, Portland, and Toronto? More or less all small market teams, who were, until the last, what? The last five season have all been considered write-offs. At the very best, they were 8th seed chowder destined for an early exit, and that's if they were lucky. Even Golden State, who until it's current dynastic status had been a literal nobody team, only marginally better than Sacramento for what felt like forever.

      These are all amazing teams, and all of them are from smaller markets. And to me, that's great. This is partly why I get salty when people talk that it's not nearly as interesting because LA, or NY, or Miami, or Chicago isn't involved. Because they have the markets and pull in viewership.

      Fuck that. It's the little guy's turn for once. All these odd teams most people who don't pay attention would wonder 'well, how'd they get that deep in the playoffs'. Because it's not the expected outcome.

      And personally, I love shit like that.

      The only thing I really worry about is someone with that height being more exposed to having exploding knees. Which is kind of why I feel like the Bucks need to win now if they're ever going to win at all.

      I still think the Bucks have a chance at winning despite that. It may not be a great chance, but I'm willing to buy into them. Especially if Durant isn't playing at a 100 percent. Which, we'll just kind of have to see what happens with that.

      But I'm also an avowed Durant hater, so I'm willing to admit my own bias.

      @Ghost In a sudden twist, the entire series was nothing but a Holodeck simulation that went haywire at the end because Data kept screwing around with the main computer.

      @Arkandel Oh, no, I'll agree. That's how the Celtics were able to shut him and the Bucks down in game 1. Is because Lopez was completely off his game.

      Giannis, who is arguably the best player in the league right now, is defined by the level that his teammates are playing at. If Lopez and Middleton are firing on all pistons, Giannis is a juggernaut who will stuff you in a locker and take your lunch money.

      @Arkandel I can see the Bucks beating the Warriors, it's just a question of how many games to do it and I still can't sort that one out. Part of me wants to say six games, but I also think they'll beat Toronto in six too. Honestly, I think they're the only team with the depth to do it, as I don't think the Raptors or Blazers are deep enough to do it.

    • RE: The Basketball Thread

      After winning two bets with a co worker, having correctly guessed that the Bucks would sweep the Pistons and take the Celtics in five games, I'm making my next bet with him that that the Bucks will come out of the East to play the Warriors in the finals.

      I still haven't decided the outcome of that matchup yet. Depends a lot if Durant is playing at full strength at that point.

      Even if he is, I still think Giannis will eat him for lunch.

      Not really RL Anger, more like RL Sad. Broke up with my girlfriend today. It was mutual. Nobody cheated. Nobody lied. Nobody did anything wrong. Said how great each other was. She wants kids and it's not something I really want myself. Couldn't figure a way out and ignoring it wasn't going to make the issue go away.

      It was a great relationship, nothing horrible. No arguments. Just....didn't work. And I'm left at a loss.

      Also, if you gotta be weird/creepy/flirty/TS-crazy/WHATEVER.....

      There's Discord for that.

      I mean, if you're gonna do that, at least be smart about it. It's no fun mocking people for that kind because they just don't know any better. C'mon.

      Two things.

      I'm having a blast in Ace Combat 7.

      And I downloaded Battlefront 2 since it was free on Xbox Gold. Does anyone if it has online multiplayer? I will nostalgia the shit out of that.

      It's been four years since I last touched Dragon Age Inquisition. Going to give it another go and see how I feel about it so many years after it's came out.

      I still dislike how grindy it is.
