I give the lastest change a big thumbs up, the one between my last post and this one.
The ginormo pictures are gone and everything is readable and the unread thread thingsin is back up top.

RE: Reactions to 08192015 Update
Well now that the switch was mentioned to turn the side panel menu always on it has become usable again but I have to say with the new update this is now by far the ugliest of the four boards I check regularly.

RE: Shadowrun!
I would call cyberpunk a sub genre of sci fi.
You can do cyberpunk without a wired matrix, though I do prefer it with wired seems lower class that way.
If the tech gets too slick it ceases to be cyberpunk. take SR 4 for example, it is the best edition of Shadow Run U have played, (have not gotten to try five yet) but I do not get the cyberpunk feel from it which might be why i can tolerate the magic in it more then in previous editions. -

Simple you follow standard negotiating tactics, ask for the moon be ready to settle for what you actually want. And every now in then on games both mushes and tabletops you end up getting the moon. -

@Ganymede
Yeah I totally would not mind serves had I not already had the vacation scheduled.
Though I ended up not being selected. -
RE: RL Anger
this is the third time I have gotten a summons. First the automated number said I didn't' need me.
Second time I had to show up went through the lawyers questioning but was not selected.
We will see how tomorrow goes. -
RE: RL Anger
Jury duty on the week I already had scheduled off for vacation.
Got the summons literally the day after scheduling it off called the automated number to day and I do have to appear. All my plans of doing nothing foiled. -
RE: Good TV
True story when I was a kid on my trike I would pretend to be Ponch as I rode around my street.

RE: +repose
Why not just limit it to designated hangouts. No real expectation of privacy, and those are the places where big scenes tend to be.

RE: RL Anger
Talk with him, but know it likely will not do any good. And be prepared to be the supportive friend when the fall out happens.
I had a friend in the same situation back when I was younger, it was a mess and the marriage lasted roughly a year. Said friend was really in a bad place afterward. The upside is that said friend is now in his thirties and married with a happy family, sometimes people need to make and learn from their mistakes. Though i fully understand letting them is one of the hardest parts of being a friend. -
RE: Rewards in WoD
True though one thing to consider is that Kingsmouth did not have passive XP.
You filled out beat sheets each week for what you think you deserved, and staff would add if they noticed you missed something, like i often did with aspirations.
While I never got close to the declining returns part, RL ate me, I thought the system as a whole worked rather well. -
RE: Rewards in WoD
@Arkandel
I am pretty sure in Kingsmouth's case the diminishing returns were to help prevent the dino problem, without completely leveling the beats for everyone.
I thought it was a good compromise since it game folks an advantage for being early adapters but late comers like me could functionally cut the gap with out it feeling completely hopeless. -

Is a horrible idea where somebody created a rules set for using d20 version of D+D but with nothing going above 6th level powers.
Even me who prefers d+d at a lower level then Raptor hate it, because to be it takes a lot of the cool out of the settings. -
RE: Good TV
No worries, the hard part was adjusting when it happened. Now I have gotten used to it, not that i don't miss the unlimited I used ot have but well there are worse things .

RE: Good TV
Yup pretty much exclusively.
Can't watch it online. I live in a rural area and I have a 20 gig a month data limit on my nets. TV eats that up real quick. I can catch the occasional ep i miss online but watching an entire series would end up costing me more then most shows are worth. -
RE: Good TV
@VulgarKitten
I used to watch it, though now it's beginning parts are scheduled against the meddle to end of Big Brother's season and that is my original reality contest addiction so sadly I watch it no more. -
RE: Storytelling
I think the best policy on dealing with PrP is to set guidelines on what is allowed without approval so people know what they can do ans what they need to get permission for clearly.
Also if you feel you might keep track of even the small scale ones do it in review not in approval. I know for me the longer between when i get the idea and run it by the players for a general hey would this interest you. (In a general way such as hey would you guys want to play out a murder mystery hey would you guys want to go on an mission against blah not actual spoilery details to them.) If i then have to wait a week or more to get to ok ot run it, even if I maintain enthusiasm the perspective players start to drift, scenes happen other things get attention and then well plot never happens or starts but never reaches resolution.
Granted a lot of plots never reach an end in this hobby and sadly each one both staff and PrP that never does I know I tend to drift more and more into bar RP, or slice of life RP. -
RE: Storytelling
For me incentives do not matter, but then I only run prps for characters i know that I can craft a specific meaningful story for. I would not run a +event hey everyone come play type of thing. I have in the past with mixed results but that was mainly to help out staff that i had a long standing ooc friendship with.
I think incentivizing will in general encourage more people to run more open to all PRP while those then ten to run private play style prps mainly would do it either way.
Also to me xp is a horrible incentive, for personal reasons I always have a done unspent if I am more then a month out of cgen, so it would rarely motivate me. -
RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
@Coin
Ahh see here is where the it is just a game comes in for me. I will gladly sacrifice functionality for chasing the ideal. After all worst case scenario game ends and hopefully some people had fun along the way validating it's existence.
I would rather see a game end striving for a goal then last last indefinitely as a tribute to functionality.
