I admit true complete objectivity is not likely possible but I do feel it should be the goal.

Ouch you have my sympathies, that is almost worse then mixing up Star Wars and Star Trek. -

Oh I understand what you are saying i just reject the basic premise., that staff persona and player persona should not be separate.
As a player you only concern need be following the rules having fun and not being an ass.
As staff you have to concern yourself with a lot of bigger picture things.
To me is is less about trust and proper division of roles.Also for the record in no way affiliated with the game just commenting in general.

@Three-Eyed-Crow
Oh I agree and I would never do it but how is posting staff thing form a player bit more acceptable?
the argument in favor of the staff posting form player bit was it is the same person or they less the same person when it comes to pages? -
RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
To me staffing is a job granted one taken with out pay and you kinda have to be a little crazy to want to do but a job none the less.
Second you said about decision it was the same person anyway., how is paging different? Either they are different for both or the same for both.
Now I would never follow up on Skype or any out of game channel that is just crazy, -
RE: RL Anger
FF was fantastic Four long before final fantasy existed.
First Issue was in 1961 and Stand Lee was referring to then as the FF no later then mid sixties. -
RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
Honestly part of this difference might be my RL background on the separation of player and staff.
In my job I have done things I as a person have been completely against and would rant against the second i was off the clock but while on the job followed procedure.
I have also made decisions as staff that I the player was strongly against because they were what I thought was in the best interest of the game.
I definitely expect people to behave differently on their staff bits then their player bits even though it is the same person. If it is rude to page a player bit about staff matters how can it then be acceptable for that same bit to then do staff things? Either they are separate or why does it matter which one you page?
I would never page a player bit about a staff issue because that is not what they are on to do with that bit, any more then I would think it was normal for staff to make proclamations from that same bit. -

Messed up the quoting but @Coin said
Staff having access to metaplot information doesn't actually give them an advantage,Huh Of course it does, they now know exactly how to tailor a pc to be effective,they also know how the people running the meta plot think so how to interact with it better.
In a game that is primarily about social interaction knowing more about the people you are interacting with is a huge advantage. Now most do not use this in a negative way but that does not mean the advantage is not there. -

Honestly I tend to me more concerned about animal lives then human ones., for the most part animals are more deserving of sympathy.
Note this does not stop me from eating them, and I have zero problem with hunters who eat what they kill. -

Yeah for table top I like the defense boost. -

Well I must be a jerk then. Since I am neither Spider nor your brother, unless there is a family secret i know nothing about.
I find conditions to be annoying fiddily bits, and hate the fact that athletics adds to defense for online purposes cause combats last too damn long already. -

@Sunny
Dang it now you have me considering playing despite GMC rules. -
RE: Dust to Dust (Formerly the nWoD grenade thread)
Fair enough, but I'm curious as to your reasoning. Did people think "oh, I'm going to get XP for this crap? No way - I'm done here!" and stop running plot?
No. Staff teams essentially said 'whew, the players have mostly taken over storytelling' and stopped.
this right here is what I miss about the old days, staff plots even weather ones I would rather ignore do provide game unity, with out them I think games get to feel more like connected sandboxes then a unified whole.

RE: Anime
@Arkandel
Vampire Hunter D.
It is a classic and older. I watched for the first time in 1993 so it might be visually dated now for a first time viewer though. -

@Arkandel
Honestly even when I am on a place that gives out xp for running things I never turn things i in to staff to get it.
To me the hassle of paperwork is always a bigger issue then the reward. Of course I also don't run general plots. I just run things for people and characters I know.
In a play where I had to do the paperwork hassle to run things and could just say oh I'll do this and not take the xp, yes I would stop running things. -

RE: Goetia: nWod 2nd Edition and Crossover - Seeking Staff
Double post to clarify.
If a game has the stated goal of wanting to avoid PvP why should they worry about supporting it?
there are plenty of games that due for those that want it, for good or ill it is up to staff to decide what game they want and enforce that.
PvP is no different then any other design decision, for example if staff wanted an high adventure game I would not expect them to worry about how to make those that want a political game happy, just to be open about the game they are running.
No if they want adventure and all the players want political then maybe the best option is not to open or to let a game die, but sometimes it is better to fail at doing what you want then to succeed at what you do not. Especially when we are talking about a hobby game. -
RE: Goetia: nWod 2nd Edition and Crossover - Seeking Staff
Well there would be a house rule about it. If not then put in a request to have a ruling and wait I guess I would not feel staff had to deal with the matter any quicker then when it's turn in the queue came up. The second one is example about the ghoul is exactly the type of PvP thing i would not have staff get involved with unless they wanted a PvP heavy game, as is the third.

RE: Goetia: nWod 2nd Edition and Crossover - Seeking Staff
Not really tell the folks who can't get along to play in separate rooms. If they refuse that boot them both.
Now that was a bit flippant but really staff shouldn't have to play baby sitter if two adults really cannot get along and won't separate peacefully your game does not need either. -
RE: Goetia: nWod 2nd Edition and Crossover - Seeking Staff
I have thought about this a lot and i know i how would handle not supporting pvp on a game I ran.
I would simply make it policy that staff would not get involved in PvP things.
For example if Player A and Player B want to get all murderface with each other that is cool have fun, but Staff does not step in unless there is OOC conduct that makes such necessary, if when one wins the other retired the char to match the IC result Hey awesome sauce if A and B can't get along with each other and work out anything then they are stuck with not being able to do it.
Of course I would also go back to the primary function of staff being storyteller and let the sphere heads be in charge of setting their own limits for how many folks they can handle in their sphere.
For problem instances usually the core issue is with the player not the character and killing the pc does nothing to address.
