As much as it pains me to agree with Tempest it really is a good idea I think.

Introduce diminishing returns on XP gained? Keep costs the same for things (1st dot the same as 5th dot), but autoscale XP rewards based upon total XP? Dinosaurs still gain XP, but where a newbie might get 5 xp, they'd get 1.

Basically akin to playing an red-shirt plot device short term? I'd be game.

XP incentive for the short-term doomed PC or the longer term non-doomed PC? Or would everyone be short-term?

@surreality That i think is a really good way to put it... shoot for Black Sails, accept a Knights Tale and David Bowie.

Yeah.. I think that's why most are set in the USA. Most players are from there, we are familiar with it and don't have to worry about folks telling us "you're doing it wrong!" regarding the setting.

The code on that game does look pretty slick.
A good question is if you really have access to it since apparently the lunacy claims ownership of it.

Weinstein was even a joke in 30 Rock. It wasn't exactly hidden

Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy and all the stand alone books set after it/the short fiction to go with it. Just an awesome take on the typically fantasy story. Gritty, funny, and thoroughly entertaining. If i had to pick a favorite author it would be a tough choice between him and Sanderson.

@auspice Is it okay if I use the setting to make a MU?

I remember having a conversation with someone once where they theorized that the sign of a good meal is that you could make the leftovers into a sandwich the next day.
They also did not like soup.

I know nothing about the system or game or whatever.. but seeing that their dice app cost $4.99 makes me never want to deal with them as a company. that's just obnoxious.

Yes. When I made the jump from MUD to MUSH any innocence was lost. You all are terrible.

RE: Character Information: Wiki or Mu*?posted in Mildly Constructive
Putting info on the MU itself does not necessarily make it easily accessible.
For example, at a MU I was recently trying out I was trying to find out the switches for the events system. It took 7 attempts of various combinations (help) and (events) before I finally got the help file for the +events command to come up.

@arkandel It wasn't that.. it may have been on opinion piece in reaction to that calling for it though. "A next step should be" sort of thing
