I honestly have no idea. I haven't read anything on it beyond the fact that it exists. I was thinking the same thing though, I'm quite happy with my 3E copy of BESM. They'll have to do something pretty nifty to get me to switch.

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@Ghost I think you're absolutely correct. Take this OC superhero game some people are talking about. If he decides to go with System A then there will be X number of people who will play there and give the system a shot even if they aren't familiar with it, there will be Y number of people who play there because he chose System A, and there will be Z number of people who will opt not to play there for the same reason. There will also be a general expectation that if he uses System A than all of the various bits and pieces are supported in some way via code. Choosing to use an RPG system for your game is a huge decision and it's just the first one. Choosing what system to use is just as huge a decision.
Conversely, if you decide to use a "narrative trait" system there will be some people who opt not to play there for that reason. Or they may check you out to see how much information you require for an application. I know many people who are tired of the "write a thesis about the character you want to play" style of apps and who will not play on games that use that type of a system anymore (I'm one of them). So deciding NOT to use an RPG system will obviously also have consequences.
The only thing you can do as a game runner is making the game you want to play at with the system you enjoy and will be able to support and teach.

That's amazing. I actually will use that.

RE: Good TV
@Auspice My wife and I really enjoyed it. It felt like they were finally able to do the show the way it was always intended to be done.

I don't know that there's been a pure GI Joe MU but there is Transformers Universe MUX that has both GI Joe and Transformers.

RE: Image Attribution & Creative Commons
@JinShei I agree. For me, the decision was made because the "influencer/model" in question had only a few thousand followers and most of the pictures were more candid in nature than "photo opportunity" types. I think in this age where we're seeing more and more "regular people" become pseudo-celebrities it's a line that gets blurrier and blurrier every day.

RE: Good TV
It's funny. I often read more about people mocking the so-called "great white outrage" than I read about any actual "great white outrage". I did a number of searches on YouTube and Google with things like "wheel of time casting (insert one of the following: outrage, controversy, angry white people, uproar, screaming, and racism)" and came up with nothing. In fact, all I could find as the opposite, about how they BETTER force diversity into the series or there will be major problems.

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
I've been jonesing for a Thundarr or He-man style game for years. I almost did one using FATE Accelerated but it did not go well with my test group who could not wrap their heads around the narrative focus of the system.

Even pre-PBs, I didn't read descs.
This +1000. There was very little I hated more than typing 'l (person)' and being greeted with an 8,000 character buffer breaker.
This is why I like BeipMU. On Blood Falls and H&V I encourage players to link to an image in their @descs as it brings up that image in the client itself if people are A) using BeipMU and B) have that feature turned on. Then the actual text desc is used to customize the image with character-specific things.

@fatefan I remember that game. I'd play on it as much as I'm able to play on any game(1-3 times a week for a few hours a night). I think it could be good action-y fun.

If it's on TinyMUX I might be able to help as a coder.

Went right from watching El Camino to seeing this. Very sad. RIP Robert Forster.

RE: A fully OC supers MU
Yeah, I guess my point is that while M&M is a fun system that really hits the superhero genre on the nose it really works best with a group of people who all understand and buy-in to the PL system. The PL system is the biggest strength and biggest weakness of M&M and some players just won't be able to either wrap their heads around it or buy into it.
The pros of M&M though include the fact that I think the entire system is available for free online via the hero SRD. Yeah, you can find it here. If you take the time to code up the archetypes system from the new hero's handbook it can make c-gen fairly quick and easy. And combat can be fairly quick with the caveat of characters with a ton of feats which can slow things down considerably as things need to be explained and what not.

[NSFW] Erotic RP Concepts
Saw this started in another thread and I thought it might be worth its own. Favorite concepts/characters played(or want to play) on an erotic themed game?
Some of the most fun I had was on a superhero game that was just over the top. I played Captain America and the "superhero registration" act meant something very different there.
Most of the time, however, I'm a sucker for melodramatic supernatural goth drama.

RE: A fully OC supers MU
Yeah, whether you use a system or not I think you'll get players. You just have to decide what interests you, what will motivate you to support the game, what will motivate you to play on the game. Do what you want, be passionate about it, and people will come.

RE: Gauging Interest in a new Erotic RP MU* (with anonymous survey)
To me, the difference is something like this...
A non-erotic game set in mythic Greece: You and your RP partner bring your characters into a scene. You play the owner of a brothel and your partner plays one of his brides. You're both fully clothed, there's no talk about sex, you might hold hands but there's no overt signs of affection otherwise.
An erotic game set in mythic Greece: You pose your character entering with your RP partner on one arm and a prized companion on the other. Both are topless with graphic depictions of their breasts in their @descs and possible links to NSFW images.
Same game, same theme, but in one sex is just a part of life. That's how I see it anyway.

RE: Good TV
I guess I'm in a weird minority. I thought all three of the people you mentioned would go on to have decent careers. I always thought a pre-Blade Trinity Ryan Reynolds was akin to a young Chevy Chase, I've liked Henry Cavill since I saw him in The Count of Monte Cristo, and I thought Brie Larson was the only one who COULD act on the few eps of I saw of Raising Dad.

Aberrant Second Edition
Aberrant is one of my all-time favorite settings(if not games) and with 2nd Edition being KSed it has once again piqued my interest. I'm doing an outline of character generation for Ares and I'm left wondering...do we need to stick to the story path system or could we do it a more traditional way?
For those who may not know the "story path" method of character generation leads you down a path where you define a number of life paths that your character has taken. During each step, you define the path, select a number of skills and edges, and some other narrative stuff. Then, for attributes, you "rank your arenas", spend points, select your "favored approach" and then increase each attribute in that approach by 1 point. Then you spend 6 more points in skills.
For Aberrant, you'd then apply the Nova template and spend 150 XP on powers and other things.
While I like some aspects of the story path system(I think Arenas and Approaches work well for knowing how attributes are meant to function) the character generation part just seems needlessly complex.
So I was wondering if potential Aberrant players would be opposed to or offended by the idea of using a more classic White Wolf CG style. I can't really think of why a player couldn't just spend 7/5/3 in attributes, select 12 points in skills, and 6 dots in edges. Seems nice and tidy to me.
It would require some house ruling on the XP side of things. You get a discount for Paths and Edges in your Path and your path also gives you connections. I think that might be minor compared to simplifying character generation overall, however.
Anyway, I figured while I was outlining how I want things done I thought I'd throw this out there to see what others things; code it up as it's presented in the books or simplify it?
