None that are any good I'm afraid. My wiki person bailed on me so wheels are currently spinning. Things are moving forward just very slowly.

RE: Star Wars Stand Alone - Staff Sought
Not to derail the thread but in regards to Ares, I played with it a bit at the beginning of the summer. I went in knowing nothing about Ruby. In the span of two weeks I had a fully functioning A Song of Ice and Fire character generation system using the system as put out by Green Ronin. The only education I had for Ruby were YouTube videos and some pointers from faraday. Ruby is much easier to learn than coding for MU(X/SH). That's not to say the platform is perfect(ultimately I did abandon it) but even with my limited exposure, I don't see why someone couldn't code up, well, anything for Ares.

While the game sounds ineresting @krmbm got an upvote for his Chester avatar.

RE: Arx: A New House
I've been looking to try Arx out. This sounds like it may be a good way to do that.

RE: Good TV
I just finished season 1 of Channel Zero. It was shockingly good.

eloquence
I'd argue that teachers are kind of responsible for eloquence. Math, science, social studies, reading, and writing. That's what I expect from my school system.

RE: Buying Shit
@Macha I haven't used it much but it's worked pretty well when I did. The chair also leans back quite far, you could probably nap in it if you were so inclined.

RE: Buying Shit
I actually just got a new chair myself after retiring one that lasted me almost 2 decades. It was a bit weird, I loved my old chair, but the one I've settled on seems to work pretty well so far. It's a gaming chair, which I wasn't looking for either, but a ton of people suggested it to me and I don't regret it as of it (had it about a week now).
Anyway, it's this bad boy: New Chair

RE: Good TV
@faraday Kids gotta grow up sometime! Just kidding. The diversity of the SW universe really comes through in the FFG series of RPGs. I think they did a good job of capturing the feel of "Scum and Villainy", "War", and "Struggling Young Jedis" with their series of games.
If not for the fact that the last time I tried to do a game using that system two of the first character requests I got were just awful I'd totally be running a SW game using Edge of the Empire and Force and Destiny. For those interested one was requesting a Star Destroyer for their base and the other wanted to represent the "future of the Jedi" with various lightsabers built into their advanced cybernetics(and they even had a new system for "super attributes" that we could use for them!)

RE: Good TV
@Auspice @Lithium I avoided Solo for the longest time after The Last Jedi turned me off of all things Star Wars related and, I have to say, I actually enjoyed it. It wan't the best movie I've ever seen but it rekindled my passion for Star Wars. Even if just a little bit. And for that I'm thankful.

RE: Calaveras: Adult Fiction Drama MU
I'm working on a Mike type from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul. Hoping to have him approved tonight or tomorrow.

RE: MU* Server Technology/Features. What do you WANT, what do you SEE?
I love Ares for the web service integration...it just has a few flaws that I couldn't get past(can't have 2 word names, it capitalizes every word, can't have lower case aliases, and a few others) BUT the web integration is fantastic.

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
I'm sitting on a mostly finished Ravenloft game using Savage Worlds that I may open one day for fun. We'll see. But yeah, I remember in the 90's and early 2000's people would open anything and get a ton of players. I miss the variety of games from "back in the day".

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
I was this close (||) to creating a SW Rifts or Rifts-inspired game using the SW: Super Powers companion. My fear was it would be a decent amount of work for a game no one would play at.

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
@kumakun I think you could use the card system of Savage Worlds just fine on a MU. You'd just have to code it up as your initiative system. That said, Savage Worlds is incredibly hackable. You could do any number of things for initiative including something as simple as a D12 + Agility or something.
The problem most people have with SW is the swingy nature of their success system. The fact that PCs roll a D6 in addition to whatever else and that any dice explodes on it's "maximum" side can leave you in situations where much less skill individuals gobsmack people. Even that can be hacked to make more playable, however.
In the end I'm a huge fan of SW and I'm quite shocked I've done nothing with it MU-wise.

RE: The Strange MUX
@lemon-fox I think that's my other problem with the system, I hate cyphers. They feel clumsy and shoehorned in. So far my experience with the Cypher system is my experience with most so-called "generic" systems; they're really good at actually doing a handful of things but fall apart when you start looking outside those realms.

The Strange MUX
This is just a brainstorming/discussion thread. It is in no way an indication that a The Strange MUX is in the works. I've just become enamored with the idea and had some free time at work so I thought I'd post some thoughts/questions/discussion points.
FIrst, I really like the idea of The Strange. I think it's a really neat setting and has tons of possibilities. However, I still just can't get on board with the Cypher system. It's not that it's a terrible system it's just that, for a game that allegedly encompasses any and all genres, I don't think the Cypher system does that very well at all. Namely superheroic worlds. I don't think you could model most superhero types using this system with any sort of ease whatsoever. Even something as simple as flight requires multiple levels of a focus.
I think for a game like The Strange it would need to be easy to transition from one world/universe/whatever to another. No one wants to app an entirely new character for every world. So my primary question is this, what system would best emulate that?
My kneejerk reaction is Fate Accelerated. When a world/universe/shard is created the creator would set up the "physics" of the world so that players would know how to scale their traits. So if Clark Kent went from his home shard of DC to the Buffy-verse the scale would list the upper levels of strength as "tipping cars on their side" so that he would know how to scale his "Last Son of Krypton" aspect suitably.
Other games could do it too(GURPS, Savage Worlds, Hero, Mutants & Masterminds) but I think they would be much more work than would be necessary for this to be effective.
As for Cypher, I'm certainly no expert so if I'm missing something please let me know. I think the idea is fantastic(so does my wife and we're hoping to explore the game in some way in our TT group) I'm just trying to think of the best way to keep it universal while maintaining reasonable scaling from one world to another.

RE: What RPG SYSTEM do you want to play on a Mu*?
Wow, The Strange looks very interesting. A ton of decent looking supplements too. Also found a game called Gods of the Fall for The Cypher system. I was gonna get Fate Dresden this week but now I'm not sure. Hmmm.

Nobilis
I love these threads because they get me thinking about or looking at games either I've never heard of or hadn't given much of a thought to. Gonna check out Nobilis and The Strange(though I'm not a huge fan of the Cypher system, at least the Cypher core rules).

RE: WoD Alternatives
I'm not necessarily looking for any one thing. Just throwing ideas out into the universe mostly. That said, keeping the WoD setting is not a necessity for sure. Just doing "dark urban horror" is all(playing vampires, witches, and werewolves). I think we've touched on a number of great systems for it.
I wish Cortex+ had gotten more support. The Smallville RPG is just fantastic. My group used it once to do a Charmed campaign and it worked with almost no real modifications.
