This was the exact position I was in for many, many years with my siblings, and it's a horribly lonely place to be. I am really sorry.

But I made my peace with it and eventually the evidence was just too much to ignore, and they each came to face the truth when they were pushed too far. Not trying to say that's bound to happen in your case, but who knows? And if not, you have still absolutely made the right choice. You're not alone and we're proud of you, the whole "blood is thicker than water" bullshit is one of the hardest manipulations to overcome.

Double posting, but one more. I didn't catch this one until today, even though it was on the local NPR affiliate, until it rolled up into the national Consider This podcast yesterday afternoon.

Oxygen for India

This is being run by several Indian doctors in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area who are buying oxygen concentrators here and shipping them over to colleagues in India that they have personally worked with or went to school with, in order to bypass bureaucracy and red-tape wherever possible.

Tracking updates are posted so that donors can see progress and apparently the Indian Embassy here in the US is covering freight charges and putting pressure on customs to fast-track them through the system.

If you're inclined to donate, this seems to be the fastest way to get supplies on the ground and in hospitals that need them that I've been able to find so far.

Another great thing about Astro City: the characters are allowed to grow older and change. Seeing Astra (basically Franklin Richards) go from 9 years old when first introduced to a college graduate in 2015 and dealing with growing up in an intense media spotlight was great. And 'Lover's Quarrel' has a whole different feel when you read it as you're pushing 50...

My absolute favorite arc is 'The Tarnished Angel'. It's an ode to the pulp fiction origins of Superheroes, it's a fantastic noir story, and it's a prime example of how much a great character design contributes to and enhances the storytelling.

Avoid Maryland. It's crazy expensive, and medical weed only.
