To be fair ...
When I was underage, I had a fake ID and did NOT look underage at all. So even if a guy checked my ID ... well... so I can see a legal reasoning.
This does not excuse this particular event though.
I'm not one of the 'cool kids' (OMG - stop posting so I can be a top poster it's all I want in life) and I'm not super close with anyone here. I have only RPed with a few of them in fact. I'm not saying this as woe to me. WOE. I'm saying it because I don't see a hate mentality or an us against them. In fact, when someone jumped on me here, people backed me up and not the top poster. It was because factually I was right and the other was reactive. It happens to the best of us.
I don't find a lot of hate mentality. I find if there is a hate train going on, there is probably a legitimate reason for it. On WORA - no reason needed.
I was having a bad day once. Like one of those days that you either need to cry or break something because NOTHING is going right. So I swung into a Great Clips. I walked in and was like I would like my hair washed and blow dried please. No style. No cut. Just please wash and dry it. --- They did.
My day improved.

I'm out of work. My sister was awesome and like oh hey you almost died, sure come live here for a bit. It's okay we haven't talked for like a decade really. It's been a smooth transition (freakishly so) like we just picked up where we left off.
I was teasing her about getting her (already short) hair cut because she had an appointment today. I was like man I can't wait to get working and get mine trimmed or even someone just washing my hair (don't judge me - it's awesome). Then we laughed about shaving my head.
She comes in from the hair appointment and totally paid for a haircut AND tip via gift certificate she got me!
Sometimes I forget people can be thoughtful.

MSB people can be dicks. It's because people can be dicks. However it is nothing compared to WORA. Here you sort of wince if you are called out for something, but then everyone moves on. On WORA, if your name got mentioned, you all but cried. It was phrased in the most gut-wrenching manner that belittled everything about you just because they could. I would like to think we all grew up from those times, but there were definite mean girls with just being mean to be mean (sidenote: Mean boys too).
Some psycho got her panties in a bunch against me and flamed me a few times and people were all like whatever about it. So I didn't get the evils of WORA, but I watched it happen. I did try desperately to get on the worst purple prose description board. I think Cobalt posted one of my descs when she decided she hated that char. It wasn't that bad and peeps said so. It made me sad. So sad.
Here, it just depends what you are looking for. I like to see the bad side of games that I'm thinking of playing. You have to wade through the BS but you get a clear view. Mainly as I don't want to get invested and then find out -- oh these are the people that did XYZ. On the other hand, it can handicap people who have crossed the wrong people too. I would like to think we just call people out, but there are times that people go really on a personal attack here too.
So... I suppose it serves some purposes and is the same old thing in other ways.
I made it cross country! That means my car made it. Also, I forgot that the 'Heartland' is so green.
I moved state from a local gym. They are still trying to hold me to a contract I didn't renew. Who knew that getting out a gym membership would be so hard? It's like it's mafia. You can be part of the family, but you can never leave the family.
Mall walk - I admit that I did this when I lived in Phoenix. You get to people walk and suck up the air conditioning. Also, depending on when you go, you feel REALLY young.
Learning there are LARP clan pins. I feel I now want these, not because I LARP (I don't) but I still think they are kinda cool.

One day I would like my brain to be as calm and laid back as I project IRL. Just once.
I play less on genre and more about the culture. If players are awesome and not OOC dicks, then I can convert to any theme. If people include others, I will play there. So really it's more on a committee that has some of the same writing styles that I do. In the end, I'm just looking for cool people to tell a story with. That is more important to me than genre.
Wasn't there a telenuke loop with a volcano? Like the being regenerated, so it just kept bringing them back endlessly or something? So many stories, so little facts.
Just report them. They can only call between only certain hours. There is a HUGE and I mean HUGE fine for that stuff.
