This is how I end up with 90% of my characters. 'What if (Thing from one setting), but in (the specific setting of this game)?'

RE: BESM 4th Edition KS
@Rinel It's an RPG that is designed in such a way as to easily elicit the ever-vague FEEL that you might have while watching or reading Anime or Manga.
The biggest issue is that it is a whole industry lumped into one, while a Movie RPG would be an RPG around a specific Movie or Cinematic Universe... or a book RPG being an RPG around a specific Book of Series.

@Ghost I would be, if I had a Switch.
I'd tell you to get one for Pokemon, but the shitstorm around it should keep you away.

Skimming over the twitter announcements, I see it's Tri-Stat again (still? Dunno if they ever left it...) I need more information!

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@Bobotron Finally found it. Dark communion, dc.muxnexus.com 5555 - it's pretty much a ghost town of Barcelona, no idea if anything happened since I stopped logging in after I put in my vote for 'ancient Egypt, yus plz'

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@Bobotron Er… no. City of Hope did that, with... Idlywild, or whatever. But the other not-City-of-Hope,-but-still-Prospect did a Dark Age offshoot, too. Which stuck around for longer, and added Wraith for a bit (I was going to do all the job stuff for DA: Fae, but there was no one able to do PLOT for them, so it vanished)

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@Bobotron Maybe?
Is that the one that has Prospect: From the Ashes, and like... 6 other games, all on the same database?

I would love to see a Dark Ages vampire-only (so Vampires and ghouls) game.
There WAS one for a year or so, on... not City of Hope, but the semi-clone game. It ended, and there were talks of another setting happening sometime, not sure if it's gone anywhere.

RE: BESM 4th Edition KS
Definately better discussed elsewhere. My main point was a rushed BESM and then a new 5e would be the 4th big/modern game with 5 editions. Except maybe FFG Star Wars. And FFG L5R.
...
I didn't think this through.
Edit cause words are hard.

And can we fast-track it to 5th Edition so that we have at least three game lines that "5E" could refer to?
I will welcome it to sit next to Shadowrun, while we ignore D&D - everything wrong with 3.5, but somehow WORSE and Vampire: the Nazi Edgelord edition.

RE: Fringe/Weird RPGs
The first two games that come to mind for this are the Bubblegum Crisis RPG (which was just Fuzion/Cyberpunk with a fresh coat of paint) and The End (which... needs it's own infodump)
Most post-apocalyptic settings take the phrase as a metaphor. The End takes it literally: the Book of Revelations happened. The part of the Bible that says 'the Meek shall inherit the Earth'? Was a warning. Those who were neither good enough for Heaven, nor bad enough for Hell, get left behind and have to deal with an animal kingdom no longer... shall we say semi-cautious of humans? A sort of rapid-entropy sets in on anything people don't interact with on a semi-regular basis. And a slew of folks trying to rediscover lostech, cause that entropy really screws with fuel for cars, medicine for folks, roads to places...
My biggest complaint is that it was a d20 open license book, so of course it uses levels. Every player begins with the Meek class, which has like... 2 in-class skills, d2 HP per level, and maybe some other zaniness.

MechWarrior/BattleTech (Dark Ages or War of the Clans)
That's a weird and interesting choice. You mean the Wars of Reaving?
If memory serves, Dark Age is after the official timeline ended, so sky is the limit.
If it's during the clan wars, though, Comstar Space Wizard is at the top of my list.

...Cthulhu Tech ...
Obligatory request to play a Mi-Go Robutt. Cultist will also do, I guess

I also approve of Water World shenanigans. Followup obligatory Spelljammer mention, so you can land your space boats on said vast ocean. Majikully.

I miss it so.
Okay, but hear me out.
Dreams of the First Age. Full tilt elder Exalts with Limit Breaks turned up to 11. Also: must take appropriately Greek tragedy style Limits, not something lazy like half of the ones in the book.

So. Much. Spider-cest.
If you're going to call Spidercest, you could at least post an actual thing from Spidercest.
